Unfortunately most people will never gain the understanding of the faith that they profess. It’s not that most people can’t fathom the concepts conveyed to us in the Bible they are just too lazy to learn. A concert pianist isn’t born with extraordinary ability. Perhaps they are born with some tools, but it is diligently applying those tools that gains them supremacy. It’s choosing to be excellent instead of average. Excuses are the losers way of allowing themselves to be ok with being losers. Now what’s my point? I better be quick because lazy people might not make it this far. Out of the 1/3 of Christians who claim to read their Bible regularly, how many study it? Who reading this even know what Word of God means, or why Christ is the Word? Many people think the Bible is the Word of God. (They are probably going to give this post an “x” because I included that) Regardless, there is huge insight into comprehending what our forefathers we’re trying to convey to us from centuries ago through the Bible. For the effort it took for them to write, duplicate, conceal, and die for what is written, we should honour them properly by at least trying to understand what it says. Too many Christians have filled their minds with opinions of others who think they should teach it. Do your own research, quit being lazy. Too many people just quote scripture out of context and it makes them look less intelligent then they are. This forum is a disgrace to our Lord. The Body should be moving in unity, with one mind, not the feet tripping eachother while the hands cover the mouth and ears. Not all are teachers, and when some try to be it creates chaos. Just saying...
If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:2 NASB

This needs to sink in. We are NOTHING if we don't have love. You can be doctrinally complete, study the Word all you want and be intellectually sound in regards to the things of the Bible.
I'm astounded how quickly love is cast off around here when it is mentioned. I've even seen people consider it fluffy in the past on here.
I don't ask God to make me doctrinally complete, I have never said that prayer but I have many times asked that He would teach me love, if He teaches me anything, that it would know what love is and to walk in it. Everything else can fall away, it can be done with, it is my hearts cry that I understand love above all else.
I couldn't care about pretism, millenniumism, Calvinism, welsyism, whatever ist and ism people wish to dabble in, let them dabble in it, it is not for me.
The revelation that Paul penned couldn't be any clearer.

Amen!.....the Lord taught me his Love and continues to do so....you can be a scholar of the bible....know it inside out......but without God’s Love.....it means nothing...

I just double checked. I did actually point out that the BDF was a disgrace, not Christian Chat.
I know, but the BDF is the main Forum on CC, and, honestly, the good/worthwhile vs. garbage Threads vary from day to day, but, IMO, they run about 70/30 good vs. garbage.

The Forum itself is not an "entity" that can be an abomination or blessing to God/Christ, it's the people posting there that fit those descriptions......... just saying ........

I learned a long time ago that one can tell which Threads to read and which to ignore by reading the Title and/or the Author.....

IF it's JUST ANOTHER Thread on the hot topic issues/differences in Theology within the Church, why even bother? All that can possibly be said has been said about 10,000 posts ago on 1 of 25,000 Threads............

Right now, there are three active trolls (in my experienced based opinion) Authoring threads on the BDF. For the most part I ignore them, but now and again I add a comment letting them know they aren't fooling EVERYONE here on CC. Do any good? Probably not, but sometimes the Church has to stand up and confront such as them.

Anyway.........

Let us all guess....this post has no bearing on you and for sure you have risen above it all and have been endowed with knowledge to teach all of us the mysteries of the bible......right?
Something occurred to me that you should agree wholeheartedly with. Another poster brought up Ephesians 6. As Christians we have armour and a sword (word of God) against the powers of darkness. You served in the military. You should understand that a weapon in the hands of an inexperienced soldier may cause more harm than good. My post wasn’t to shame cadets for not hitting the bulls eye. It was so cadets don’t go in shooting the place up. The Lord gave us a weapon to use against our enemy and I was encouraging them to train with it and master it. You understand. Training with a rifle, shooting thousands of rounds on a range is different than watching someone shoot it, or getting a lecture on how to use it. I was encouraging others to read the Bible themselves and not just listen to others opinions on it.

Thank you for providing a perfect example of how people extract one sentence from a paragraph and use a major exception to the rule to refute it. But yes great point, some people here at CC may be prophets and have a supernatural gift of just understanding the scriptures without having to study them like everyone else. However, I think the majority of us should take the time to learn them.
It seemed to me your entire OP is one big broad generalization and that was the reason for my response.

Too many Christians have filled their minds with opinions of others who think they should teach it.
That is true even if people do this they should always go to the word for references.
