Israel saw God in person, you only are believing Their Testimonies. It strengthens your faith. An intellectual person would not destroy the Witness that much of their own understanding of God is built upon.

so if you do that work BECAUSE you are saved, You are loving because you have experienced Gods love
If your doing that work to get saved, stay saved or keep from losing salvation. It is a work of self righteousness. Not a work which proceeds from the love of God. Because you have never experienced Gods love.
