@2ndTimothyGroup It's because the only unforgivable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. Blasphemy just means "speaking evil of or against"... It doesn't mean "disobedience against". WHY? Because the universe was created by WORDS spoken. Just because WE don't understand how powerful our words are...or how precious the Holy Ghost is... that doesn't mean God will overlook our ignorance if we decide to do that one unforgivable sin. So I advise people (when it comes to a manifestation of the Holy Ghost) to NOT speak against it, even if they don't understand it.

I hope that's at least clearly spoken even if it seems weird or extreme.

Love in Jesus,
Kelby
Concerning me, you're not even hitting the dart board, let alone the bullseye. Your view of me and what I think is so off track, it's alarming. Seriously, there is no need for you to be running on this tangent with me. I know far more than you seem to think. Your judgments are ridiculous.

@shittim - You've given me the "Red X" because of my feelings? I have felt the Raw, Almighty Power of God; the Power that parted the Red Sea; the Power that parted the Jordan River twice; the Power that created this universe . . . to the degree that if I had felt more of this Almighty Power it would have killed me. I was only moments away from dying from the overwhelming Peace and Love of God.

I wouldn't trade my experience for anything visual, or for anything auditory. Many people have had visions and heard things, but I felt this Power and came to realize that it is True, that no flesh can be in the full Presence of our Holy, Powerful God . . . and live. I realize that you do not understand what I am talking about, for it is inconceivable that Peace and Love can be so Powerful that this Source can put an end to life, thus you have my human form of Grace.

I am aware of far more than you could ever, possibly realize.

huh

so now we have the 'raw power 'experience' vs the spiritual gift of tongues and how it makes people 'feel'

you in your small corner and me in mine and never the twain shall meet

whole thread is train wreck anyway

The "useless" part. Praying in the Divine prayer language is the best, fastest, strongest, most productive way I know to get and stay in His presence, to let the indwelling Christ out.

"I am aware of far more than you could ever, possibly realize."
A pride thing maybe?
best wishes

Agreed, pride is indeed a terrible thing, He can do His best work through us as we humble ourselves before Him.:)(y)

Let me get this straight:

1) You can tell me that how I [feel] is disagreeable, and that this is [not] a problem for you.

2) If I disclose my Powerful experience with the Lord, I am guilty of being prideful.

This . . . is pathetic.

we don't want to downplay Moses or Saul who became Paul

besides, we don't know you and this is just a forum where anyone can say anything and expect people to believe them

I mean to pull that out of the air almost immediately sends up warning flags to me quite frankly

especially since you have me on ignore and don't you know who I am? how dare you.. huh....bangs into wall on the way out cause the nose is too high up in the air

where's a talking donkey when you need one....

Anytime I hear something like that plan, I realize it can quickly turn into:
  • leaning on the flesh instead of the spirit
  • idolatry
  • and a suggestion that God forgot how to speak, lead, guide, teach, correct, and answer prayers.
BUT.... 2 things about that:
  1. Not everyone hears it that way and not every mentor abuses the position. Plus...
  2. I had a GREAT mentor/teacher when I first came to the Lord. But God set that up for me, not man.
Love in Jesus,
Kelby
It is a characteristic of the devil to counterfeit the best that God gives us, otherwise people wouldn't be taken in by the false version.

I have had some excellent mentors in my time who had a wonderful influence in my Christian life. I know that God provided exactly the right ones to enhance my Christian life and to keep me on the right track. When sitting under the ministry of an excellent godly mentor/teacher, it spoils one for everything else, and the difference between the true and the false becomes more discernable.

@Lafftur ;
Unless you say otherwise, I'm going to use your thread as a place to start testifying of things that God has done for at least one person (this person) who has "speaking in tongues". Not as a bragging tool but as a testimony of how good God is.

Why?

As I was praying...(in tongues, for those who might wonder)... God was bringing to my remembrance several things that he has done for me over the years and I thought "Wow, I've had more influence over my world than what I thought. A lot more." And God's children need to hear testimony of the kinds of things he is willing to do for them... So we can more greatly obey the commandment portion of this formula... "Ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full". <-- if ever there was a commandment we should start trying to obey, this is one of them.
  • This will not be an exhaustive list. (John 21:25)
  • I'm not planning to put it in any particular order except that the first two have a money element because money seems interesting to most people. (until you learn how comparatively worthless it is).
  • Some of the details can be confirmed, some probably not. Some of these things happened decades ago. Records are only kept for a certain number of years, and sometimes details get retracted from public view. But rather than testing by record-searching, I recommend testing by asking for something similar with a sincere heart and pure motives. However, most of the larger details are probably still internet searchable.
I hope everyone enjoys and rejoices. There may be a delay before and between postings. I'll post as I find opportunities, etc.

Kelby

Bringing to remembrance is a great thing He does for us, that we may not forget His goodness.
The adversary doesn't work by tempting us to hate god, he works by giving us a forgetfulness.
bless you brother

Hello Kelby,

Feel free to testify of all the good and marvelous things God has done!

The gift of speaking in tongues is one of these good and marvelous things but, God is without measure - there’s sooo much MORE!

Our Father in Heaven LOVES us!
Our Savior and King Jesus Christ LOVES us!
Our Helper the Holy Spirit LOVES us!

Absolutely there’s sooo much MORE to say! I look forward to reading your posts!(y)

Praying in silence Has always worked for me.
God always hears and answers.
When the Apostles asked Jesus to teach them to pray, He made no mention of a special prayer language.
Many of Jesus's prayer are recorded in Scripture with no mention of a special prayer language, so I assume those who heard Him understood every word.
Just do not see the need or point that a special prayer language is needed.

That is true, Jesus did teach how to Pray and we find that In the Gospels Matthew chapter 6, Luke 11chapter.

the only thing that hurts prayer is praying not in faith.

Jesus disciples operated under His anointing when He was here, says so in the Gospels.
After He paid the price, on Pentecost Sunday Holy Spirit came and is now available to His Own.
He gives freely, and we are to do so as well.
