Matthew 28:18-19 KJV
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

[19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
What’s the name of the father the son and the Holy Ghost?

“The son “ is t a name is it ? Isn’t the name of the son Jesus ? Or is Jesus name “ the son “ one is a title one is a name

“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He possesses all authority

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

jesus is his name

“Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭3:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭3:7-8‬ ‭

Peter didn’t say “ by the authority of the nameless God “ he said in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Avis name is important because it focuses everything on one whomis the fulness of the godhead bodily or in the flesh

“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

a there’s no reason for us to get away from the name of Jesus our lord all authority is his but his name is his name the name of the son of God.

“And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1:21‬ ‭
Id say Jesus name really means his name
It's interesting how vehemently people dispute/oppose the need to use the actual name of Jesus in baptism. Yet, have no problem verbalizing His name as commanded in connection with prayer, casting out demons, etc.

Could be that many are not familiar with the scripture: "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." Col 3:17

I think often it’s just scripture confusing people

In the name of

The father that is a title the name hasn’t been spoken

the son is a title the name still isn’t spoken

the Holy Ghost is a title the name hasn’t been spoken yet

and the lord reveals things to those who are seeking him it begins to become evident that Jesusbis indeed the true God manifest in the flesh and his name is the name above all names and he iis one

soften weve hesrd things for so long in life in chi rich or our circles that when we start really digging into the Bible ourselves we find out some things we’d heard aren’t actually correct and there’s things we could learn that seems to be a point some stop hearing the gospel when it starts to change thier minds about God not just his name but what he taught people

i think of the lawyers and Pharisees always attempting to trap Jesus and accuse him by thier law it seems as if it was because of his doctrine and how it was so different from what they had always been taught it left them in a bit of a pickle but some converted afterwards also sometimes what we’ve learned works against what we are learning from scripture is my point

All scriptures are correct.

Matthew 28:19 KJV
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Acts 2:38 KJV
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 8:16 KJV
(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Acts 10:48 KJV
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts 19:5 KJV
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Jesus words are easy to understand,
No splitting hairs there.

There is so much legalism in water Baptism and unlearned in the word of God of water baptism.

Jesus did not water baptize anyone during his Earthly Ministry. Some say there is no spiritual baptism, yet the word of God says there is, and Jesus is the one who baptized in the Holy Spirit, which is a Spiritual baptism. If we read John chapter one.
Also, being baptized in Jesus' name is a valid Baptism, but so is doing so in the name of the Father, Son, and The Holy Spirit.

A bunch of modern-day Pharisees placing on people what they themselves would not have placed on them. Jesus says that in Matthew, chapter 23. many have hurt water baptism and hurt people with their legalism. That will be delt with by the Lord. You who have caused children to stumble.
I would say legalism against water baptizing water baptism is happening.

But I'm not sure what your implying

John
After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized. 23 Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were coming and being baptized. 24 (This was before John was put in prison.) 25 An argument developed between some of John’s disciples and a certain Jew over the matter of ceremonial washing. 26 They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan—the one you testified about—look, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him.

So I don't understand at all where your coming from.😊

This is a thread for people who believe water baptism is required for salvation, if you aren't that type of person, then obviously you don't need to answer this question, as I know you will just say the man is saved, as water isnt required.

Hypothetical situations that are often brought up by people to argue against baptismal regeneration are:

1. What about someone who is ill, about to die, cries out to God, asks Jesus to save them, will they die lost because they didn't have enough time to get baptized?

2. What about someone who is on a stranded island and has no one to baptize him, dies there, will he die lost?

In my opinion both of these arguments deserve a proper response, which is why I am making this thread. Give me your case, you who believe baptism in water is required for salvation.

PS I hope this thread isnt gonna turn into 50 responses and 0 answers and everyone just saying "Its not required for salvation because of such and such." I get it, I know the arguments both ways, but im just asking our baptismal regeneration people here to answer these. Thank you for understanding.

QWhen here those ask, "What's the name ?"
They do not consider what the term means in English " in the name. "

In the name of actual means, BY what authority do you do this.

Coming in the name of one who has authority. Baptizing in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit testifies to the authority of each collectively. Unless one thinks The Father has no authority?

The reason why Peter was Baptized in Jesus' name was an act of Protest because Peter and the Apostles were commanded not to teach in the Authority of Jesus, whom they believed was the Messiah. Not only did they teach, they healed in that name and were baptized in that name or by the authority they believed given to them BY the Lord Jesus himself.

Totally agree; and it's turning into quite a comprehensive list, as turbo6x says:
"Satan is doing his very best to confuse us"; the more we argue/divide, the "more
he is laughing at us," eh?:

1) How Exactly is "immersion" in it be a beautiful testimony "to
the world" { modern day via internet? }, when it is only done in a
local congregation?

(2) Furthermore problem with this 'beautiful testimony ': How is immersing
young/middle-aged women Any Different than the wet t-shirt contests at
UNgodly liquor establishments? I believe God Said:

"...Be NOT conformed to this world!..." (Romans 12:1-2), no?

(3) immersion with a symbolic interpretation?

(4) immersion ONCE in the "name of Jesus?

(5) immersion THRICE in the "name of the Triune Godhead?

(6) immersion {whether once or thrice} for "membership" in
their traditional assembly?

(7) sprinkling water on babies inducting them into religion
washing away their original sin?

(8) sprinkling water on babies inducting them into some covenant?

(9) sprinkling water on babies inducting them into their parent's custody
that they promise to raise them right? {into Mass Confusion?}

(10) sprinkling water on babies, admitting that their ritual is
UNscriptural, but "we do it anyway, because it is our tradition!"?

(11) pouring water onto babies or adults for Whatever
traditional reason religion "can come up with"?

We could pray about all the Confusion, and then obey God In 2 Timothy 2:15

The apostles didn't water baptize any other way.
Yeah I know. They baptized like Jesus told em to do it.
By his authority.

Even the didache records this, why fight all of church history? At the very least dont be cultic about it and discount the baptism of people who did it ACCORDING TO THE WORDS OF JESUS in Matthew.

Precious friend, yes sir, always in "agreement" With God's Word Of Truth!:

Joh_4:2 (Though Jesus Himself baptized not, but His disciples,)

Amen.
well what about this truth

I am not suggesting there is no Power in the Name of Jesus or in the Blood of HIM. Water Baptism done in the name of Jesus is not the invoicing of the name of Jesus but the authority by whom you are baptizing. The act of Baptism is well defined in Romans chapter 6 to 8
