If people understood death under the banner of separation which is what death actually means, then they would grasp the eternal aspect of the human spirit....

Physical death --> the spirit separated from the body

Eternal death -->the spirit separated from God

The concept of death literally portrays separation.........!

To ME you don't even Know what DEATH IS ,It is to be separated ALL right , Eterally GONE ,AS up in SMOKE .AND their ashes the righteous shall trade upon , JUST like Mal 3:3 GOD says they Will ,& I believe GOD . THEY will PERISH LIKE THEIR OEN DUNG . WHEN something perishes IT IS GONE .NEVER TO be anymore . The eternal punishment IS to be eternally GONE .

I am not directing this at Bud. I am making the point that two strong headed individuals are about to come face to face with opposing viewpoints (DCON and Bud). I was responding to Bud's response to DCON....

We are not catching bees or flies......wake up....the truth by it's very nature is offensive and God uses many imperfect men and women with different styles, approaches and demeanors to deliver his perfect message

the bodies of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob had all returned to dust when He said this, but He calls them alive.
life therefore is not the body; the flesh is not the person. we have to get that straight

IF you look at that again ,you will see that HE was quickened .Which means that he was resurrected & then went and preached to those Who were in prison .Those that are in sin, are in prison , JESUS says , Like Peter when He denied HIM ,HE even went to him , And all the rest of them ,

how does Ephesians say we were 'dead' in our sins?
how does Romans say we 'have died' to sin, and to the law?
they're not talking about death in the sense of annihilation. they can't be. and they're also not talking about death in the sense of the flesh returning to dust. they can't be.

we have to understand death in the way the Bible talks about it. there is more than one death. the body returning to dust is only one kind of death - the human definition of death. but God speaks about people whose bodies have returned to dust as being alive. God knows that people are too dim to understand this - so He sometimes uses the word death with the human connotation of it -- as He is telling the disciples that Lazarus is only sleeping, for example, but they cannot comprehend Him ((John 11))

then why/how does God say 'in the day you eat of it, dying you will die' ?

what happened to Woman, and to Adam, when they ate? how were their bodies affected? how were their spirits affected?
God describes it as death.
