How do we stop sinful thoughts from entering our thoughts n making us stray from the Christian path were trying to remain on but things making it difficult to focus n not things distract us n lead us astray

Wow that was quite the run on sentence:p

Paul tells the corinthians to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

[/h] [SUP]5 [/SUP]We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.


Phil 4:8 tells us to focus our thought on godly things and pure things.

[/h] [SUP]8 [/SUP]Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.





Your thoughts are not sin but if you act on them,it is sinning. You have a choice. A thought cannot make you do anything. You choose to carry it out and that is called rebellion against God.

The word of God ie the Bible is the truth. It is the only thing that renews our minds.

Romans 12:2
"Don't be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

We see here that God wants us to be transformed inwardly.

Is reading Gods word a daily habit you have committed yourself to?

We don't stop them from entering, we fight them when we have them. Temptation is not a sin, giving in to temptation is the sin.
Look at the kinds of thoughts you most commonly have that are wrong. Then look up scriptures that pertain to that topic. When the thought comes use the appropriate scripture to combat the thought.
