My boss tells me he's going to buy me a headset for work to answer the phone when I go to the restroom. I said I'm NOT answering the phone when I'm in there!!!! Lol

Yah eet ees disturbing to see that people can be okay with that sort of thing and it seems that "#2" is a popular subject of jokes and there's even a cartoon character of it with a face and I've even seen it as an emoticon (!!!)

Try to think of it as super efficient "multitasking."

Yeah... I've thought of that... Disturbing as it is. And I always wonder how far it extends.

Hopefully, one's surgeon doesn't "multi-task" before performing an operation.

I used to build custom homes. I cannot tell you the number of people who (before cell phones) wanted phones installed in their bathrooms.... TVs too.

Many high-end hotels still provide phones in the John.

Believe it or not the Bible has something to say on this topic. It talks about where Moses took two tablets and went up on the mountain.

Also remember how long King David sat on the throne? 40 years!

Then there's all that trouble Balaam had with his... Well, you know.

Here in the States most commonly public signs still call them restrooms (still can't figure out why since no one is "resting").
Have you seen how long some people camp out there?

;)

But those are private settings, where the call isn't heard in public.

As for multi-tasking, humans survived for eons without the potty call. I suspect we still can.

I've talked to someone when I was in the bathroom before, but it was my own bathroom. I would never use a public bathroom unless I absolutely had to. I don't really see it as a big deal though. Even if I had to, I wouldn't be in there for long, so it's not something that I would even think to let bother me. Maybe it's better than awkward silence.. I don't know. To each their own.

This thread has just had me in stitches :D if I laugh any
more I think I will burst a blood vessel or something.

I once had to ring a colleague at a different office, due to the
strange noises coming from the other end of the phone I asked if they
were in the toilet. He laughed and said no, but we both knew he was!

Several people have told me about dropping phones down toilets and
having to pull them out, before spending hours trying to dry and clean them.
I mean, would you honestly want to use a phone that had been dropped down
a toilet - at least get a hands free kit!

A trick I've heard of for wet phones is to remove the battery cover and battery (on phones that allow you to do that) then put it all in a bag with white rice for 24 hours... and don't try to turn in on until after that! That and lots of disinfectant wipes!

Uhm, restrooms are called so because people go into those rooms for "time-out". Seriously.

There was a study a while back that said people will take 3 minutes longer to vacate a parking space if they know someone is waiting for it.

I'll bet the same holds for these 'parking spaces', longer if there's a device involved :)

I wouldn't do that lol, but it really doesn't bother me when I hear others talking on the phone.

It would surprise me a little if I were dating a guy who talked to me while going to the bathroom. But if we're married and he's talking to me on the phone, then things are different and more comfortable, I assume. It wouldn't bother me as much because by then, we would have gotten to know each other more. Does that make sense?

Yeah, this makes sense. I assume that a married couple would have known everything about each other, including their bodily functions, so this wouldn't be weird. But, for the sake of the people around them, they have to avoid talking on the phones while using public restrooms. :p

Only 55 minutes without plugging in? What kind of battery life is that? :p

Hey Everyone,

Has anyone noticed how bathroom etiquette seems to have gone completely downhill?

One of my modern social pet peeves are women who go into a public restroom, phone in hand, and then proceed to have loud, personal conversations, often with their significant other, WHILE OBVIOUSLY USING THE FACILITIES at the SAME time. I'm not talking about just sitting there and talking. Rather, these women are talking and going the whole 9 yards all at once. I often wonder, "Does it bother the person she's talking to AT ALL?? Because if I can hear her 3 stalls down, I KNOW he can hear her."

Seriously. If I ever get a significant other, he is just going to have to wait in line a few minutes because nature's call will be the first to be answered (and hands washed) before I accept HIS call. And, I would hope he would have enough manners to call ME at a time other than when HE'S in the bathroom!

Tonight there was a woman in the Ladies' Room who was both talking and taking care of business so loudly that I'm pretty sure that the patrons in the Men's Room could probably hear her, too. And that just sets off the troll in ME, because my reaction to such rudeness is to needlessly flush the toilet in the next stall repeatedly while they're talking.

I figure, might as well make it a royal flush.

Now I realize some people will take me to task for this as being childish, uncalled for, and not very Christ-like, but I'm wondering--does this type of behavior bother anyone else?

And guys, do you witness this kind of action too???

I'm guessing men don't have entire conversations while THEY'RE in the restroom, but I could be wrong...
I don't notice men talking and going the whole nine yards all at once in the bathroom at work, but I notice this sometimes below. Are women guilty of this too?
