I just joined today been reading The sword &shield by Robert Noland for the last 38 days and got in the evening when I rest life-giving conversation with God. I have been lazy for many years and wanted to break my cycle of giving into sin. This year I wanted to start my walk with God and have a relationship with him.

For the serious bible student whose desire is to go beyond knowledge of personal salvation to a deeper understanding of the plan and purpose of the LORD God Almighty, namely 'The Kingdom Of God/Heaven', as taught by the Lord Jesus Christ himself.
(Matt 4:17), "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
(Matt 4:23), "And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom..."
(Matt 6:33), "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
(Matt 9:35), "And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom..."
(Acts 28:23), "And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening."
(Luke 24:27), "And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he [Jesus] expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
(Luke 24:44), And he [Jesus] said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me."
(2Tim 2:15),"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. "

I've been reading Uncle Toms Cabin and now onto a spiritual biography of Harriet Beecher Stowe.

Uncle Toms Cabin has heaps of scripture references in it. Not much fiction these days refers to the Bible so much, often what passes for christian literature or novels these days is light fluff thats only just a christian Mills and Boons. Its not like anyones trying to stop slavery anymore.

I recommend this book, The Heavenly Man. Such an encouraging and inspiring man who God used to spread the Gospel throughout China. He also has some testimonies of this on Youtube. 💜 941B04E9-77E7-416E-9627-BECB31C41D38.jpeg

This is the mind-blowing autobiography of a teenage missionary who, w/o church, missionary group, or even parental backing or support, followed the Lord's lead, from Chicago to South America, to a stone age group of Indians known as the Motilone (a group that no one had ever seen and who we were only aware of because of the dead oil company employees that we kept bringing out of the jungle). I could probably tell you the entire story and not spoil the book for you, but I won't ;) You will laugh, you will cry, and I can almost guarantee you that you will not be able to put the book down before you finish it. My favorite chapter is called, "Jesus, the Motilone".

Two that I’ve finished are:
- If I Plug My Ears, God Can't Tell Me What to Do by Jessie Clemence
- No Compromise: The Life Story of Keith Green by Melody Green and David Hazard

Two that I have yet to finish but are good:
- The Cross & the Switchblade by David Wilkerson
- God Space: Where Spiritual Conversations Happen Naturally by Doug Pollock

I have more on my “to-read” list than “read” list, but I’m thinking that will change pretty soon as I’ve recently found myself with more time to read! :D

I'm really sorry to have to say this but it is only right that I warn my brothers and sisters ," THE SHACK IS NOT A CHRISTIAN BOOK."

It was written by a Universalist NOT a Christian.

God Bless🦋

Yes, many are just for profit and some promote things contrary to Scripture (even within so-called "Christian" books). So like the Bible says, test them and keep what's good. I love to read, but I'm more selective now.

Yeah, some of the movies are also misleading if you don't read your Bible. I heard about the Noah movie being pretty unbiblical, so I wasn't interested. Others may be alright, but in general I'd rather read the parts in the Bible first so I can notice if there's any discrepancies. Some may be trivial, but others may be major and it's like slandering the people in Scripture or blasphemy etc. My dad says it's a movie and they have creative license. I think that's true for secular movies, but if you're representing God's word in film or a book then it should be accurate to not mislead people, especially those that aren't reading the Bible.
