Im just pointing out that marriage and working hard at it is just as challenging on its own compared to gaming. People to me who love gaming, love battles. They want to pursue justice, beat bad guys, save the princess or whoever is in distress, they want to be the hero. They want periodic rewards and they want one big ultimate reward at the end. They like the idea of saving the world from destruction or aliens or whatever. It gives them a bit of a god complex. Hence why the far majority of gamers are guys are they not? They want a cause, a leader, a good fight and a good reward, every man aches after that. But instead they prefer the easy unreal version.
Because loving one woman for the rest of your life and raising children is just too hard for most men. I mean why bother. You got sporks and instant macaroni and porn and gaming to get you through the necessities, why bother with all that?
For men who actually want to dedicate their lives to being Christian husbands and Fathers, Id say the strong majority of them just don't bother with video games because in real life they already have their battles. Every day the world and its principalities are telling men to not bother, to just go the easy route. More than any other time in history, I think as a wife its never been this hard on men before to be straight and narrow. Solid Christ following men have battles on all fronts, and every time they win one over here another battle pops up over there. And if their wives are wise and gracious they know and understand the situation theyre in and dedicate themselves to being that safe place for their husbands. That place where after a man has been fighting all day he can return and be replenished with encouragement, appreciation, comfort and respect.
Like I said, Satan doesn't like men following Jesus. He doesn't like men honoring their wives and children and he will do anything possible to make that as hard as possible and will do anything to make our sin nature as uncomfortable as possible so we rely less on Jesus and more on fakery and games for that short term boost. At the end of the day, when we meet with Jesus face to face and give an account for our lives and those we affected. Our World of Warcraft/Halo/Super Mario scores won't really do much to help our case...
