Hi, nice to meet you. My name is Alayna and I'm a CC addict. I joined CC when I was 13 years old (1999) and pretty much have been here ever since. I became a moderator in 2009, after being a regular chatter for 10 years.

I mostly stay in the room, and haven't played much in the forums in a couple of years. I used to post all the time in the miscellaneous forum with my best friend ChristianCollegeGirl. But it's been a long time since we used to do that. She hasn't been in CC in nearly a year, but we're still best friends and text each other every day. :D
I remember CCG!!! And hello, my name is Bing. A Bing.

Abing, I seriously thought you were a new member when I first met you. Then I realised you joined years ago (back when I started uni). What's the deal? ;)

A lifer eh? :p. I probably am too. I go into chat sometimes but havent since I chucked the pc and got an ipad. Not compatible yet. I generally hang around in here because I have known most of the regs for over a year. I'm attatched the new batch of recruits too.

P.S. How much do I have to bribe those in power for a name change? I just picked a random name when I started and didnt really expect to get hooked on CC like I did. I probably would have chosen something different had I known :p

Name changes are $5. We can't physically change the name on your current profile though, so you would have to have your current profile deleted and then make a new account. Which means all of your rep power and your post count would be gone. So since you've already been here for close to 3 years with your current account and have so much invested into it, I would not suggest changing it. Besides, I think DonkeyFish is a fun name.

Speaking of which:

Some amusing nickname award (of those i can think of off the top of my head at this exact moment): DonkeyFish and SkittlePumpkin. I love seeing names pop into the room that make me laugh.

Ah well, its not like Fantasia will cease to exist if I don't get a new name.

Hello, junior members, you're welcome here! It just started with "single of the year" song and now everything just follows. Where is @Purpose!?? [Siela deserves also]. Well, everybody is entitled to opinion. Godspeed!

Well, it's true... Mods don't get paid here. It's all volunteer. So The job I actually get paid for is infinitely more boring, which is why I have ample time to be on CC instead.
You're a fun mod, Alayna. :)

Except when you wield the ban hammer ....

Junior members? Haha! You're the one who hasn't even been here for one month. No problems. :)

I very rarely wield the ban hammer without very good reason. But I keep it around because it's shiney, and it's safer with me than it is with Stilly.

Isn't that the truth? And Thor's Hammer looks good on you. :)

Thor's hammer was too manly... My Ban Hammer is teal with sparkles. (Not pink, because that's overly cliche.)

Okay, but not too much glitter. That would be tacky.

Oooohkay. You are asking for too much, Kim.

And hey, I hope you know that it was my tomfoolery. I think you make wonderful threads and you always have "deep" questions to ask. You are pretty chilled out and awesome, Kim. :)
Ah, one of my favorite things about CC is coming here and bantering back and forth with people in the forums :), and you're one of the best around, Roh.

I hope you know I was joking as well. Thank you for the kind comments as well.

On a slightly serious note, I think sometimes the mods are seen as these Towers of Ivory Walls who walk around with inflated power (and yes, carrying ban hammers.)

My personal experience has been the opposite, which is why I'm always so glad to see mods interacting with the rest of us humble subjects :p. In all seriousness, I've always found the mods here to be fair. Back in the day, I used to frequent chat just to listen the discussions some of the mods would lead.

Hmm... Maybe I can turn this into an Awards Category (I can only base this on mods and/or former mods I've had personal interactions with or used to see actively in chat):

Stillwaters, Trilogic, AlaynaJ -- The Big Brother/Big Sister Award. I'm not in chat as much as I used to be but these were some mods who could almost always be found encouraging/joking with/validating young people in the room. One of the things I used to really like about chat is that a lot of young people seemed to congregate there, and the mods in the room would ask them how their day was, etc. Essentially, it was like an "after school hangout" that gave a lot of young people a safe place to be.

A special award goes to Bridget Left China, who encourages us ladies to think things through and keep ourselves safe in the Ladie Forum.

Merryheart, BananaPi, Oncefallen -- Most Missed Mods. Fortunately for us, Oncefallen is still here. I really enjoyed their down-to-earth interactions about their daily lives and experiences with the rest of us. I especially miss BananaPi's math jokes...

Stillwaters, HarpyEagle -- Best Displays of Humor Among the Mere Mortals of CC Award. It can be hard to catch because I know they're both busy with real life and keeping us all in line :p, but these two are hilarious, and such good sports.

Speaking of which, the award for The Best Impersonation of Mod Imitating Another Mod goes to Stillwaters, hands down. I had the incredibly good fortune one night to be in the chat room when we convinced Still to do an impersonation of Harpy Eagle, and it was SPOT ON!!! A few nights later we convinced Still to do it again on the mic while Harpy was actually in the room and Harpy's reactions (via emoji's) were priceless.

Still also gets the award for Mod Who Can Do The Most Impressive Accents (Even if Some of Them Are Made Up... From Countries that Don't Exist.)

And a special "Thank You for Taking the Time to Address My Concern as An Individual" goes to several mods here who have taken the time to interact with people personally regarding various issues they've come across on CC.

I'm sorry if I've forgotten a lot of people--I'm not in chat much anymore and I don't know the current crop of mods like I used to. Please know that we appreciate you and all the time you volunteer here.
