A teenager has given a warning of the dangers of body piercing after she was skewered by her belly button stud in a car crash. Jessica Collins, 19, was left fighting for her life when the silver stud in her belly button pushed through her body - ending up just millimeters away from her spine. Doctors say her injury was like a bullet wound fired from point blank range. Art student Jessica underwent three hours of life-saving surgery to remove the stud.
Her mother, Amanda Beadle, 37, said: "The seat-belt pushed her belly stud all the way through her stomach to her spine. "The surgeons said she would have been fine if she had not had her belly button pierced.
