"In God We Trust" is not a Biblical quote, to my knowledge... it is the official National Motto of the USA.
For a non-US citizen to use the USA's motto to justify his decision to not own guns is simply odd. It's no big deal... I was just making a joke.... you live your life as you see fit.

Trusting in God has little to do with owning a firearm. I do trust God.... I also don't believe He expects us to just drift through life without taking reasonable precautions.... doing the things that WE can take care of. God takes care of all the rest...

I'll fall back on another non-Biblical saying, probably from Aesop..... "God helps those who help themselves...."

I find it hard to reconcile "in God we trust" with a house full of guns.
I understand your point of view but it is still a bit oxymoronic given there are a lot of things every believer does that could be characterized in this way, and doing so makes no sense given all the blessings we have in our lives due to hard won freedoms and advances in society that may be difficult to reconcile against the backdrop of advancing corruption in the world at large. By that I mean to say, freedoms for many societies and advances in civilization have been won in large part through war. War not necessarily against invading armies, but against one's own government. The second amendment assures the people of the United States of America the right to bear arms that they may defend themselves against the corruption of a government that would seek to enslave them and strip them of other hard-won freedoms at the same time. Yes, too many people have guns, but it is not the armed law abiding citizens one needs to defend themselves against.

People who only think of a firearm in terms of hurting others demonstrate a twisted mind, many anti gunners are this way, look at E*** for example, taking joy in "shooting someone in the back" even if it is only a water pistol.

As I said, "toy" guns are another story. In both of these articles, that is what they are talking about... "toy" guns that look exactly like real, functioning firearms.

I personally think it should be illegal to manufacture a toy gun that looks real..... for this very reason. We used to play "army" and "cowboys and, um.... native Americans" and many times our "guns" were sticks. A toy gun does not have to look like a real gun to be "playable".

If you are a policeman, confronting a young person who is holding what appears to be a real firearm, you do not have the luxury of "assuming" it is a toy.

This is a quote from one of the articles you listed....

"Experts who study the domestic market for pellet and Airsoft guns said consumer demand for replica firearms has grown.
“They are red hot,” said Tom Gaylord, an industry consultant who runs a popular blog for the Ohio-based Pyramyd Air, one of the largest air gun retailers in the country. Pyramyd Air declined to comment.

Police say it is virtually impossible to train officers to identify imitation firearms from any distance. Short of eliminating the guns, police have little choice but to assume the guns are lethal."

I understand the sentiment, but the reality is that an armed citizenry has little hope of prevailing against a government that controls the military. In other countries, such as some South American and African countries, rebels have formed armed groups that terrorise the nation, ruin economies and fundamentally change little. Most of the victims are ordinary people who just want to live a normal (whatever that is) life. God is not pleased with rebellion.

I may be wrong, but I'm convinced that the American Civil war was a consequence of rebellion against the colonial authorities. America's history is one of almost continual conflict. Since the 1950's, most of those conflicts have ended badly for the US, even those that wars that appeared to be successful. Now China is a threat to America's status as the leading superpower. I'm 71 so I'll likely not see a future where China replaces America as the leading power. But things can move very quickly, as we've seen in the Ukraine/Russia war.

Yes, you are wrong.
Too wrong to resolve at 71.
You are on Christian forum speaking in carnal, temporal terms.
it is a Spiritual situation, we wage war not against flesh, but against spiritual forces in high places.

My question is very simple. Is it okay for Christians to own a gun legally for protection purposes? I would love to hear what other people has to say in regards to that.

I personally believe that we dont need a gun, but at the same time, arent everyone entitled to protect themselves? Now, you see where the confusion is with me lol :)
In the US, yes absolutely. Own as many guns and bullets as you can afford and help your friends and family get them too. Furthermore, conceal or open carry as much as possible or where permitted.

I was living in the Bible Belt for a long time. Getting a gun is as easy as buying candy and the Bill of Rights guarantees the right to own a firearm so take full advantage of that.

While we’re here, I want to encourage you to exercise all of your rights. Most of the world doesn’t have the kind of rights Americans have so you’re very privileged. Be sure to exercise your free speech the most of all. Don’t give up your rights under any circumstances.

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

America and Israel are in the way of the satanic globalists for this reason.
The original question, "should a Christian be allowed" is pretty weird, many denominations love to put people back under the law that Jesus came to abolish and replace with Liberty.

Hmmm.... tell that to the British. They had arguably the greatest standing military in the world, and a bunch of civilians armed with commonly used weapons managed to defeat them.... I know we had help from the French, yada yada, but in most pitched battles, the armed citizens did very well for themselves...
Much of it has to do with attitude...

But, this discussion is going pretty far off the rails, compared to what the OP started with...

Yes, Christians may own guns and this is completely okay. Though, in my personal opinion, I favor a Sword.

That was an issue with the Japanese as they stated, "behind every blade of grass will be a rifle".
Switzerland has not had a war for 500+ years, when Hitlers envoy spoke to of how their army was twice the size of Switzerland's population the leader responded, "in that case we shall have to fire twice".
Looks like the Chinese Communist Parties weaponized virus plus the useful idiot/ senile buffoon installed president and the leftist media are seeking a way around this.

I’m not gonna lie, I have used a water gun before.
Those were the days when cops didn’t “confuse” water guns with real guns and shot unarmed people on their back.

Back then they didn't make water guns look like real guns.

It's up to the individual and their conscience. Personally, I've never wanted a gun. And it's difficult to get one legally in Australia. I find it hard to reconcile "in God we trust" with a house full of guns.

What was the purpose of walls around cities in the Bible?

I've always wanted one to carry. I want to carry it in a holster on my hip. And I want to wear a Stetson hat with boots. And a duster. And I want a horse. And I want bad guys to be afraid of me and run the other way.
And my own theme music would be nice also. And the ladies faint when I ride by or try to make me stay but I can't because ... I've got to ride on... west... in the sunset... while she cries..."Don't Go..."

Don't know where this all takes place, but the ladies down here pack heat. They ain't the faintin' type.
