I'm sorry but it is a false love that tolerates another gospel. Love may trump faith and hope but it doesn't trump God's Truth as expressed in His written word. I don't hate catholics, but I will come against their main errors.
Can you imagine what the Church would be like without sola scriptura? Think dark ages, where God's Word is suppressed and the 'authority of the Church' dictated all...a lost Gospel, superstitions abounding, ecclesiastic tyranny. Don't be fooled by wolves in sheep's clothing.
God's word was NOT suppressed in the so called "Dark Ages"... (could someone please explain to me what the "Light Ages" were before the so called DARK AGES??... what? ... barbaric illiterate tribesmen running around burning people at the stake in wickerman cages to appease their gods?... constantly making war on each other nonstop...? huh?)

The Roman Catholic Church dragged the illiterate, barbarous masses of Europe, KICKING AND SCREAMING into the Enlightenment.

Funny, Paul and Peter didn't have to 'drag' anyone and yet the Faith spread like wildfire. Rome just gave paganism a christian veneer...at best it was a hybrid.
The difference is that Paul relied on the power of the Gospel; Rome buried the Gospel under Ecclesiastical clutter which it took the likes of Luther, Huss and Tyndale to uncover...but that's all non Roman propaganda, right?

I just recently had to calm my poor Catholic dad because he was worried about how long my mom who died of Alzheimer's would be in purgatory. It's that kind of stuff that makes the church doctrine so evil.
How is that "evil"?

Purgatory makes sense.

Purgatory is supported by Scripture.
(oops... unless you don't count the books the Protestants threw out .... right, right, ... Sola the Scriptura that *I* like... that's it... I forgot)

Total incomprehensible gibberish.

Please understand. I am NOT an SS zombie robot indoctrinated from childhood to believe the nonsense that you seem to take for granted.

You will have to spoon feed me your fairy tales and lies slowly if you have any hope of making them stick.

But wait...

I think nearly every statement about the Catholic Church in your post here is FALSE.

"while Rome obscured the gospel with Latin and rites and rituals.
" BALONEY! Rome preserved the gospel with Latin and communicated ancient wisdom to future generations with awesomely BEAUTIFUL breathtaking rituals and rites.

(translation to vernacular has clearly multiplied confusion and misunderstanding a gazillion times over! - NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!)

Random quotes about prophecy outta nowhere mean nothing.

?

How has "The Catholic Church, since 400 AD or so, when it started, has gradually added to the Bible"?
Please explain that.

Just continually quoting badly translated Bible verses is senseless, imho. Tradition adds depth and meaning beyond the obvious limitations of mere rote, mechanical repetition of verses.

Your opinions about Sola Scriptura are just your opinions. I disagree with you.

Just wondering how much you have studied the Bible in Greek and Hebrew, let alone your beloved Latin?

As far as the origins of the Catholic Church, it really started with Constantine, when the state of Rome took over and the church became associated with the empire. That is why it is called the ROMAN Catholic Church, right??

Here is a nice link, which I am sure the Catholics will not believe

The Plain Truth about the Roman Catholic Church

As for the pope, well actually the Bishop of Alexandria in Egypt was the first.

""Papa" has been the designation for the Archbishop of Alexandria and Patriarch of Africa in the See of Saint Mark. This office has historically held the title of Pope—"Παπας" (papas), which means "Father" in Greek and Coptic—since Pope Heracleus, the 13th Alexandrine Bishop (232–249 AD), was the first to associate "Pope" with the title of the Bishop of Alexandria.
The word pope derives from the Greek πάππας, meaning "Father". In the early centuries of Christianity, this title was applied (especially in the east) to all bishops and other senior clergy. In the west it began to be used particularly for the Bishop of Rome (rather than for bishops in general) in the sixth century; in 1075, Pope Gregory VII issued a declaration widely interpreted as stating this by-then-established convention. By the sixth century, this was also the normal practice in the imperial chancery of Constantinople."

Yes, for someone who doesn't understand the power inherent in the Gospel, it would be gibberish. Is that you?

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
(Rom 1:16)

(see I wrote it out for ya.)

OMG... what the?...

What happened?!

okay whatever... I would ask what he did to ever desrve such a fate but I have grown used to it now. I would ask the moderators Hey! what the heck is going on here?! ... what did he do to vilolate rules!? huh? and they would always make up some bullpucky to justify the action.
When I joined here though, I read the rules and it basically said "we the moderators can take whatever action we want for any reason we like whenever we want".
I am not kidding.
I laughed and signed on anyway... what the heck.

ChurchAuthority.

You were an inspiration and and I learned so much from your posts here. Thank you. Jesus said to the Apostles you will do greater things than this so raising Lazarus from the dead is a possibility and I will try to appeal to the authorities here in hopes of a miracle.

of the worst kind. It was new to me till these two and it did answer
alot about their practices that i never quite understood.

These 2 were funny, they came in on attack mode and calling folk
catholic bashers at the same time.

Seems when a Catholic gets involved in a discussion and upsets people because his/her arguments are good, they get banned. I'm out of these forums. Freedom of speech doesn't exist here. ChurchAuthority did absolutely nothing to deserve that. It was a brilliant discussion. How sad. We were told we would be hated by the world. The whole world hates us. Muslims, athiests, and even alot of our fellow Christians. All for the glory of God!! Praise be to Him. If you guys want to share what you perceive to be the truth, that is certainly not the way to do it. Peace all the same!! God bless.

Jesus didn't "carry God" within Him.
He IS God - and MARY carried Him.
Who is carrying who?
[h=3]Matthew 12:47-50[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)

[SUP]47 [/SUP]Then one said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.”
[SUP]48 [/SUP]But He answered and said to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” [SUP]49 [/SUP]And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! [SUP]50 [/SUP]For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”

I put Mary ABOVE Christ??
Where? Please enlighten me.
wel lif you do not Halleluah only God knows the heart of man and what is the purpose, motive behind whatever it is that they might do or not do, it just seems that Mary is put above Christ as if she is the way, the truth and the life.
Praise God then if Christ is your only way?
