2 Pet 1:1

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

Peter in this scripture does inform us where precious Faith comes from ! Its certainly not of ourselves Eph 2:8.

It comes in or with the Righteousness of God and Our Saviour, this Righteousness is the free gift that Christ purchased and bestows upon all for whom He died Rom 5:17

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ)

This Righteousness as well as that referred to in 2 Pet 1:1 is the imparted Righteousness of Christ we receive at New Birth. It is through this imparted or communicated Righteousness at New Birth we receive of, that with it we are given precious Faith.

Peter goes on to say 2 Pet 1:3-4

3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Faith or precious Faith is of the many things Given to us by New Birth which gives us to live a life of godliness !

So 2 Pet 1:1 is but another scripture that proves biblically that Faith is the product of New Birth, partaking experimentally of the Divine Nature !

The Just shall live by Faith !


Rom 1:16-17

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Do we understand what this is saying or promising ? Its an declaration that everyone Christ hath died for, whom sins He hath bore, that everyone of them shall live by Faith ! Yes it is a absolute guarantee that every sinner Christ died for shall live by Faith or his faith [ Hab 2:4] because it [faith] will be given them. Now the reason why this is True, that all for whom Christ died shall live by Faith, its because scripture states the Just shall live by by Faith Rom 1:16-17; Gal 3:11

11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

Now some translations like the ESV substitute the word Just for the word Righteous :

11 Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.

But thats ok because the greek word for Just is also rendered Righteous its the word dikaios:

So to be Just or to be Righteous are both the same ! Now with that in mind, we will see how scripture proclaims how one is made Righteous or Just before God, Rom 5:19

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous or just.

Note the Obedience of One [Jesus Christ] many shall be made Righteous or Just ! The obedience here of this ONE is speaking of the Obedience of Christ unto Death of the Cross Phil 2:8

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

What faith is
Faith is more than believing in something unseen, Faith is more than trusting in a god. True faith must become one with the love of God himself. Without a deep love for God and a deep desire to seek what he seeks and to become a mirror image of the lord Jesus christ all other faith will fail.

Faith does not hold up a mirror, faith tells you that even though the world says you can't it will tell you that you can. True faith will consume you and mold your heart to become a oneness with the lords heart. you will see through a different pair of eyes, you will not judge people according to the way the world does nor will you judge people according to other christians do. You will judge and see how the lord does, you will obtain his desires and you will see all people as the treasures he see's them as.

Your true joy will not be what you gain in heaven but in becoming like the lord Jesus it will no longer be about you but about The father and about all his people. You will realize it was never about you and you will eventually reach the point where you will be willing to go through severe pain and agony just to save one person.

How does one obtain such faith? By seeking the lords heart daily.

Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him".

Faith is the only way to come into a saving relationship with God. It entails trusting in the Lord Jesus to the point that one recognises that their way is the way of death and Jesus is the only way to life thus they turn away from self and exercise total reliance on Him, submission.

The bible is clear that one must repent and believe to be saved (Mark 1:15). So how is faith developed? "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). The convicting work of the Holy Spirit is essential for salvation. Through the gospel message the sinner becomes aware of their wretchedness and need of the Saviour so that they can repent and believe.

The purpose of this title is to establish from scripture that all for whom Christ died shall live by Faith, because it was by His Obedience unto death, dying for their sins, that they are made Righteous or Just Rom 5:19b, and the promise is that the Just or Righteous shall live by Faith !

The promise God's Word gives to them that are Just is this according to scripture Hab 2:4

4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Rom 1:17

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Gal 3:11

11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

Heb 10:38

38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

The Promise is that the Just shall live by Faith, and how did they become Just in the First place, for it was by the obedience of Christ or His Blood, so there you have it, all for whom Christ died shall live by Faith, or shall believe in Him. Thats why Jesus stated in Jn 8:24, it meant that His Death, or His Blood never Justified them Rom 5:9, never made them Righteous Rom 5:19b, because He never died for them or for their sins, so instead of believing on Him, which would have been proof that His Death made them Righteous or Just, so that they should live by Faith, then consequently their not believing is but evidence that by His Death they have not been made Just, and their sins unpaid for and still charged against them by God's Law and Justice, so they shall die in their sins !

Believing in Christ proves that God gave Him for your sins out of His Love, for that is the True meaning of Jn 3:16, God gave His Son for those believing, which by His Death for them, they were made Just or Righteous, and as the promise goes, the Just shall live by Faith in Christ.


Thats why Paul first states what the Gospel of Christ is in Rom 1:16 and what it reveals to them believing, which produces the end result and fulfills the promise Rom 1:17

Does this include the false prophets that Christ died for, whose end is destruction? "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction" (2 Peter 2:1). Scripture attests that Jesus Christ died for everyone, even those that will be lost, but obviously not all live by faith. Justification by grace is when God looks upon the guilty sinner and pronounces them righteous irrespective of their past sins but because they came before Him in repentance and faith in Christ's sufficient blood for their cleansing. This is why the Psalmist said "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise" (Psalms 51:17). A broken spirit is not mere remorse or embarrassment for sin for that would be worldly sorrow, rather it is godly sorrow wrought by the conviction of the Holy Spirit that brings salvation.

A more accurate statement would be “those who Christ justified shall live by faith”. The hope is that those who have been regenerated will persevere in faith and won't draw back by the grace of God."Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man [those that are justified] draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul" (Heb 10:38-39).

You seem to hold that faith is a mere consequence of election rather than a condition for salvation that’s why you concoct statements like “so they cannot have faith”, therefore faith to you is something God has to impart upon those He sovereignly elected to salvation. Is that really what the bible teaches? Does the bible really teach that God elected people for salvation? Is man really unable to exercise saving faith in Christ? Your problem is that you view the entire gospel through the lenses of Reformed Theology thus you teach another gospel thus there are certain passages you can’t explain or you craftily twist them out of context because they don’t coincide with your doctrine.

What will you do with passages like these that necessitate faith for salvation? Oops, you’re going to ignore them aren’t you? Your entire theological system collapses like a house of cards when presented with passages like these…
Acts 16:29-31
29. Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
30. And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31. And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Rom 10:9-10
9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Would there be salvation if there is no faith?

2 Cor 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. If repentance and faith aren't something man can possibly do then why would God set them as requirements for salvation?

Paul and Silas did not tell the Jailer “just sit there and do nothing, God will do everything for you”. No. They said believe and thou shall be saved. The sinner, not God, must repent and believe to be saved. God does not repent and believe for them. He did His part already by sending His Son to provide grace so that WHOSOEVER believeth will pass from death to life. Grace is God’s responsibility and faith is man’s reaction to His grace. That’s why Romans 5:2 says we have access BY FAITH into this grace. Hebrews 11:6 doesn't say man cannot have faith rather it says without faith man cannot please God thus they must come to God believing and diligently seeking Him. Hence scripture also says "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near" (Isaiah 55:6). Romans 8:8 says "So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God", it is true that those in the flesh cannot please God therefore they MUST lay aside all superfluity and meekly turn to the cross by faith to be saved. That is biblical repentance.

Sir, the fact that faith is a condition for salvation doesn’t make salvation meritorious for we are saved solely by Christ’s work, not ours, and all glory is ascribed unto Him. The fact that sinners have to believe to be saved does not mean they are quickening themselves from the dead. It is Christ that quickens for there is nothing the lost can accomplish without Him. Please don’t be deceived by false teachers who say that repentance and faith aren’t required for salvation; that they come AFTER salvation. These folks don’t have an iota of concern for the souls they are shepherding thus they teach such damnable heresy.

this is the fundamental thing. if you do not believe that God is and that He is who He says He is it would be impossible to be a christian. christian's are called believer's for that very reason. it is the root of evangelism as well. Jesus said that if you have seen Him you have seen the Father because they are the same in purpose, intent and sovereignty. how could you please God if you don't even know who He is or what He stands for.

Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
