What some hear as false, I hear as unifying. These prayers were sung to God by Christians for well over 1000 years. When I chant the prayers of the Divine Liturgy I unite myself in worship of Our Lord God Jesus Christ along with fellow Christians who precede me for centuries.
There's something wonderful to chant the words:
Knowing that throughout the world, from the rising of the sun to it's setting, there are Christians united in chanting and worshiping God through the Divine Liturgy. When I chant together with my fellow believers I draw closer to the Lord. I forget about the day to day things and just focus on God. It's amazing and wonderful!
