Hahaha iTore that's awesome.

At least you can confidently say that the vast majority of Americans know that Maine is part of the USA. I.. I cannot say the same about my beloved home state. We're so disconnected from you in the lower 48 (yes, that's what we call you), we might as well be that one American part of Canada. :p
One thing I am legitimate curious about, for you Canucks and Neverfails here:

When I visited Washington state recently, I was absolutely astounded by how late the sun set. It was almost 9pm before the sun went away! I suppose what threw me is that it was early June, since we get 8:45 sunsets in El Paso, but not until late July/early August.

So, what time is sunset for all of you guys this time of year? Neverfails - are you far enough north in AK to experience 24 hour daylight?

In the Great White North, rubbing a slab of back bacon on it has always been a hojiliion times more effective.

One time, I wrapped a piece of bacon around my big toe because I had stubbed it and the swelling hadn't went down in two weeks. It was an old mountain remedy, supposedly.

And, it actually worked.

My hometown isn't quite that far north (above the Arctic circle) but I've been there. With the summer solstice right around the corner, my home gets around 20-21 hours of daylight. On the solstice itself we hit about 22 hours.

The title "land of the midnight sun" is quite accurate. :p

EDIT: my avatar photo was taken a few days ago at 11:45pm. Still sunny!

Definitely not a lie. :p I think you'd get over it in less than a week, though. ;)

I've always heard that Canada is actually the only country that exists on earth, and all other countries are just figments of Canadians imaginations, brought on by us eating too many expired maple-leaf shaped pancakes!!!

Do you think there's any truth to that?

I thought that was America? Canada is that nice place in America that sends us our comedians. Am I missing something? ;)

I'm not. Tomorrow is the longest day of the year. Sunset tonight is around 9:40pm.

Have been watching HGTV while I'm working at home today. Lots of highly attractive Canadian guys in jeans, t shirts and toolbelts who keep saying "progress" wrong..... I could quickly adjust to them saying it wrong. :)

Jullianna, lets make a deal. I will set you up with a Canadian guy that can't pronounce certain words right, if you will set me up with an American Valley-girl who can't pronounce "ANY" words right!!!

Do we have a deal???

Well, I would....but I'm hoping Valley Girls have become extinct from the concussions they received after the 80s (when they had to relinquish their shoulder pads).
