"WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — The National Cathedral is pealing its church bells, along with some other Washington churches, to celebrate the Supreme Court’s decisions on gay marriage.

Cathedral spokesman Richard Weinberg said the bells rang at noon Wednesday for 45 minutes to an hour. Bells also rang at other Episcopal, Methodist, Presbyterian, Unitarian and other Christian churches.

The cathedral scheduled a prayer service for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender families Wednesday at 7 p.m. to celebrate the ruling.

In a statement, the cathedral’s dean, the Rev. Gary Hall, says the church is ringing its bells 'to celebrate the extension of federal marriage equality to all the same-sex couples modeling God’s love in lifelong covenants.'

Hall says the ruling should serve as a call for Christians to embrace religious marriage equality."

^ The devil's been busy deceiving the American public and is busy using these heretical religious leaders who claim to be a part of Christ's body (e.g. Christ's church) to accomplish his purposes.

Leviticus 18:22 - "Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin."

Leviticus 20:13 - "If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense."

Jude 7 - "And don't forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God's judgment."

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 - "Don't you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people-none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

GOD has spoken.

Well, I for one am very happy. When the time comes, I'll be able to get married and it will be legally recognised. ^.^

Also, may I suggest you watch the documentary film Fish Out of Water? It talks about all the verses in Bible that are repeatedly used to condemn homosexuality and while it does not necessarily prove them wrong, it does open them up to a more reasonable interpretation.

It will be a spiritually illegitimate sinful "union" that God will never recognize as legitimate or anything other than two people engaging in sexual immorality with each other.

You can go through the "marriage" ceremony with apostate religious leaders and have the secular government give you a marriage certificate saying your married but you are not married in God's eyes. Y

You're just going to be more lost and more deceived about it. All this does is create a situation in which many more people will live in sin deceiving themselves and miss out on God's plan for them... most for eternity.

You do realize that for most homosexuals this was never about being recognized as legitimate in God's eyes? Right? They wanted the secular legal recognition for the rights they were being denied and look now they have it.

You're wrong. They want both. But they can only have the one that doesn't matter in comparison to the other.

As Paul said to the Nautiluses of his generation:

"I marvel that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ to another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel to you than that you have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ." - Galatians 1:6-10.

As Matthew Henry's commentary states:

"In preaching the gospel, the apostle [Paul] sought to bring persons to the obedience, not of men, but of God. But Paul would not attempt to alter the doctrine of Christ, either to gain their favour, or to avoid their fury. Concerning the manner wherein he received the gospel, he had it by revelation from Heaven. He was not led to Christianity, as many are, merely by education."

You do realize that for most homosexuals this was never about being recognized as legitimate in God's eyes? Right? They wanted the secular legal recognition for the rights they were being denied and look now they have it.

You always have had exactly every single human and legal right I have. Now you have the right to have your perverted homosexual union recognized by a government too. Guess what? You STILL have exactly every single human and legal right I have.

But just because someone can do something, doesn't mean they should. Every sin has been legalized at some point in history in some circumstance including murder. Just as I would have left my right to murder unused in societies that made it lawful (such as the Turkish law that made it legal for a time to murder Christians resulting in the Armenian genocide), I will also leave my new "right" to engage in grave sinful sexual immorality with a person of the same gender unused.

But then I care about God's will on such matters and you obviously don't care about God's will on this matter stating emphatically that you don't care and just want to do what you want to do and that is the primary difference between you and I.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." -Matthew 7:21-23

making something legal does not make it moral.

UMM But what is often left out is that in God's sight ALL sex outside of marriage between a husband and wife is sin. Try to bend it,break it,twist it out of shape,it does not change it. Second problem that comes to mind is NO WHERE does God say it is alright to lead SOMEONE ELSE into sin.

as a Tree and Shrub Tech a customer recently asked a question about a Holly Bush she planted several years ago. Upon inspection I discovered that she had purchased three of the female variety ( Yes, there are male and female plants, trees, and shrubs!). Anyway, I informed her that in order for these plants to bear fruit there MUST be a male variety in amongst the females. This is the same for most fruiting trees and plants. They both need to be pollinated by bees. These bees are all drones...which are always males. Hmmm. Even nature knows what is natural and un-natural. If only people were this intelligent...

it is not equal to the church of the living god,,,,,,,,it is the "church of the united states government". i suggest that now they who are for it go to congress and ask them about their heaven, and follow their gods will and follow his laws. the few today who follow the lord shake the dust off their feet as you leave the city of Washington, let them worship their god,you are not the judge of another god's slave,,,,,,,

They " have it " for a short time only ! The time of darkness ! But behold the Sun of Righteousness is coming ! And as He already destroyed the Babylonian tower of rebellion erected by Nimrod ( ancient time Antichrist ) and all his followers, as He utterly destroyed the rebellious cities of Sodom and Gomorrah with fire and brimstone, He will utterly destroy all the sodomites towers of rebellion erected by Satan and all his followers ! Forever !
