He has proved Himself to us, steph, therefore, we have seen His laws were real, His prophets were real, and, yes, indeed, He is real, and, we are no longer under a schoolmaster but, instead, the Master, who is Christ, who is God, who is The Holy Spirit, who is One.

Yes, Christ fulfilled the demands of the Mosaic Law in His life and death thus it is no longer binding. Those who believe in Him are under the liberty of grace and serve in newness of spirit.
Romans 10:4 "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth".
Galatians 3:11 "But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith".

...and of course grace isn't a license for immorality but rather the power of God for righteousness.

The end of your faith as in it exists no more? Or the end result? Same word in Romans and used the same way, Christ is the end result of the Law.

Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

To fulfill means to complete. The laws are for slaves and a slave doesn't have a place in the house. Slave were somewhat like an employee that agreed to surrender themselves to the ones that they are in debt with. But their heart doesn't desires to be in that situation. The laws required that you must not eat pork and so on; but are you willing to change your diet? For some reason that nobody doesn't want to give up their traditional ways for God. I guess that they are weak. Now everyone want to jump to the new testament when it comes to that, but then they jump back to the old when they want to judge their enemies. You can't be straddling the fence. But a person has the right to do what they want, that is what free-will is all about. It make it easy for God to make His decision.
Luke 15:15So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs.
John 10:13The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
So he said... the law will disappear when everything is accomplished. and fulfill and accomplish are synonyms. so he actually did abolish the law.
if you read matthew 5:18 then 5:17 it makes more sense.

He did fulfill them
He was without sin (fulfilled the moral law)
He then suffered death (fulfilling sacraficial law)
He then fulfilled redemption (fulfilling judgmental law.
so why do people want to go back under law when christ fullfilled it all in our place. and thus can fulfill the law in us through grace?

In the Greek phrase μη νομισητε οτι ηλθον καταλυσαι τον νομον, the word καταλυσαι does not mean "abolish". That word is a 1 aor. act. infin. verb better read as to dissolve by subversion or overthrowing. And by his fulfilling (ending) of the dictates of YHVH (Jehovah) expressed via Moses' Law and the OT prophets with his newer teachings, there is no need for Jesus' followers to also follow those old and now long superseded teachings. That's why Jesus told this story:

We are not to be self-righteous, this is true, but this Scripture tells us, too, that we, indeed, have our own righteousness, and, with that righteousness, we are to understand the truth of the Pharasees' understanding and the teachers of the laws' understanding. We cannot self-law ourselves and be good enough to enter the kingdom of heaven, the Pharasees said all these great things of their thinking they were in right standing with going to heaven (righteous) and God told them the cold, hard Truth.......
"Not every one that said to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day (Judgment Day), Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works?23And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity."
We MUST repent, we MUST believe in Him, we MUST be "born again," taking on His righteousness imputed us, for this doing is by His doing in us, by our willingness of belief in His Truth, in our heart. We MUST believe in our heart that Jesus is Lord and that He will forevermore be lord of our life
To the one seeking to find something to CHANGE their life, to get them OUT of the 'mess' they are NOW in in life, this next part is for you, a little off thread topic, but, the Lord leads, I feel it needs said, the Lord IS the law of my life, my spirit will follow HIm
