John 3:1 Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council.2 He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him."

Nicodemus wasn't afraid to say to Jesus Himself that he believed. He came under the cover of darkness to hide his identity from the people!! So that people didn't know that he, of all people, Nicodemus, was going to Jesus. He was afraid to associate his identity with Jesus.

Luke 9:26 Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

Darkness leaves room for sin and an anonymous identity is a hiding place where people can't see you.

I don't know if this is a safe idea. Not everyone needs to know the brand of toilet paper you use.

The video dismisses the danger of the internet without any rhyme, reason or Scripture. The internet is dangerous and this thread is dangerous suggesting the people should use their real names and the only consequence will be "persecution." I am sure most of the pervs on the internet could care less which God you worship. Their motives are much more evil and I can only pray no one will be hurt as a result of this video.

Can God protect?
If He can, does the dark side of government already know your I.P. address?
If they do, what are you worried about?
Is some infidel going to look you up?
Honestly, buy a gun if you are so worried.
Then you can blast your new neighbor who is introducing themselves on your doorstep for suspicion's sake.
Either God is in control or He's not.
With that sort of fear no one will ever preach to the lost....because they might actually persecute you!!!
- (And God doesn't tell you to expect that).
- - Buy a gun, - the great equalizer.

Darkness leaves room for sin and an anonymous identity is a hiding place where people can't see you.
The woman in the video has a painted face.

And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard [of it]; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window. 2 Kings 9:30

And [when] thou [art] spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; [thy] lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life. Jeremiah 4:30

Painting the face leaves room for sin and a masked identity is a hiding place where people can't see who you really are.

sigh...

just kidding...

seriously, can't we just leave each other alone and not try to tell others how we think they should live?

Can a soldier be a soldier if they do not fight? I would think a christian is supposed to be like a soldier. He can believe and not fight, but then would that not make him an unbeliever? If they truly believed then they would believe enough to obey the commandments that yeshua gave us when he said for us to go and spread the good news. We can't do that if we are anonymous.

Hmmm... this thread really throws me as to its intent. Is it meant for this discussion group or to the world? and who is a Christian? what defines a Christian.
I just joined this group so please don't mind my ignorance 'yet' :D but is there really an air of fear on these boards? Brings to mind when the cock crowed thrice j/s.
Many boards such as these use 'usernames' and some of them can get quite hairy at times. It brings to mind another story I read sometime back of this female who was hated by her father since birth without a word as to why but all during the time she was with her parents he threatened to kill her. One day when they stopped at a gas station her mom told her to go to the bathroom and not come out until they were gone as her dad was intent on killing her that day. If I recall the story right, she was picked up by some nuns who took her, taught her and cared for her. When she became of age she decided to stay with them and I believe had become a teacher in their school.
One day she received a call from her dad and he said he was coming to kill her as he was supposed to years back as he had finally found her. The nuns offered to send her off somewhere else until he was gone but she thought of what they had taught her of God and decided that she wasn't going to run, she was going to allow God to protect her. On his way to kill her he had a massive heart attack and died instantly.
Now we all know that life doesn't go that way all the time but it does and I can testify to being saved from danger many times where my life was in the balance or my sons when I grew older and had a family of my own. This is the faith of Jesus Christ.
I recall a time when the Holy Spirit told me I was transcended along with this other young miss. I went to argue with the Spirit because the young woman in question was far from my idea of being a believer in God. I thought of it over time and I guess many could say the same of me in my younger years so who am I to judge God's decision. Ahhh.. we get back to the discussion of Abel and Cain...

As to being incognito Christian to the world I guess it depends if it is someone new in Christ who doesn't know how to find God, has had bad experiences with the church as I see so many do, or where they live. It would be easy to say no where I am because currently my life is not threatened for my belief in God whereas others are.
We are not to judge others but to let our light shine the full love and glory of God so others may see and want also.

The entire earth is a dangerous place, but if God is on your side there is nothing to fear. Associating your name with the things you say and do is not giving out your home address, though, we should tell people where we are from. There are also websites, I think Google Now is one of them, that will be doing away with anonymous profiles because the danger anonymity poses!!

Psalm 27:1 Of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid?

Google Now Makes Anonymous Negative Reviews More Visible | WebProNews

"Negative reviews are one thing, but anonymous reviews allow people to say whatever they want without being held accountable. Businesses are already suing people for defamation over some of the things they say in online reviews, when they are saying things they can be held accountable for. Anonymity just lets people say whatever they want. Even if they’re trashing your business. And anonymous reviews are still appearing right in front of Google Now users curious about what place Google is telling them is nearby."

As far as a "painted face", God is not against beautifying ourselves (Ezekiel 16:10-14). Jezebel was not evil because she wore makeup. She had an evil spirit of which men can also suffer from, a prophet killer. An idolator, accusing, lying, murdering spirit. Let's not forget that men of the Body of Christ are the BRIDE, not the Groom. Another topic altogether :)

3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

And yet God decked out Israel so one must consider the meaning of these verses. It does not say you CAN"T gussy up. It's saying work on your inside, which is what counts. You're beauty should come from within!! Being beautiful on the outside means nothing if you're not beautiful on the inside :) It doesn't say you can't be beautiful both within and without.

Deuteronomy 10:16
Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and do not be stiff-necked any longer.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

Who is this?

If I knew a person was only going to harm me I wouldn't walk with them ;) Doesn't mean they wouldn't know my name, where I'm from, and that I love Jesus. I would also block anyone online who is merely trying to abuse me or waste my time, but they'll know my name and what I associate with.

Matthew 7:6 "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

I pick up hitchikers all of the time. It can be risky, but I'm not going to let fear keep me from loving my neighbor and helping those who need it, like "scary" homeless people. I'm not married so I don't have a husband to tell me what to do. If he didn't like me doing that I wouldn't, but neither would I marry a man who has a spirit of fear, too scared to pick up a walking person. I don't have children either to protect.

And if I get harmed or killed for loving my neighbor.....

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

How can you be insulted if they don't know who you are? :)

1 Peter 4:14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
