I understand how many of you feel!! I am not speaking this to upset any of you! But I believe it is time for us all to hear some truth about what many have looked to do with our Jesus and mix the law with his grace. They cannot mix brothers and sisters, though many look to. I have great love and respect for all of you here! You have a right to disagree of course!! But when you have been made free by Jesus, why look to become in bondage again over something we have no control of? The law was perfect, but it had no salvation,it set no one free within it. Hence why our Jesus had to fulfill it, so he could make a far better one,for us to stay free in! Thanks all.
Hmmm, and yet we read such scriptures as ...
Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you,
Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Now I ride a bicycle. I went for a 31 miler last night after work and it was threatening rain. The sky got dark and I thought it was going to pour it down before I got home. Hmmm, the heavens were still there. My tires were firmly on the road and I was able to come home safely. The earth was still there. OK, I was absolutely convinced that the Law was still in full force. In fact, I depend on the constant of Law to ride that two wheeled contraption and it never fails. Why would I believe that the Law is done away? Better yet, why would you believe it?
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master,
what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God:
but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Hmmm, eternal life seems to be tied to the Commandments or so says the one you claim to worship. In fact He said...
Joh 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Joh 14:21
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Don't claim that you love God and then disobey everything He has Commanded. Paul seemed to think it was important to...
1Co 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing,
but the keeping of the commandments of God.
Now how'd that get in there?
1Jn 5:2 By this we
know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jn 5:3
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
What is the love of God? Keeping His Commandments. In fact, how important to your salvation is keeping the Commandments?
Rev 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Before you rattle on about the Law done away, perhaps you should read this and meditate on it a little...
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
