Serving as a warning: The Church of Christ denies Jesus Christ is God. This of course is blasphemy and heresy. This does nothing but add to their sin of heresy of denying salvation, except to those who get water baptised, among some of their other very tainted doctrines. The link, one of 2 or more, tries to reason people out of believing Jesus Christ is God. Many Church of Christ members were NOT aware of "corporate headquarters" stand on the issue. Now you can be made aware so that you, if you are a part of this denomination, have a chance to escape. "http://incmedia.org/wpmedia/videos/god-and-christ-a-comparison-based-on-the-holy-bible"

Then I am afraid you have been quite misinformed.

Well, as to what the video claims, and their own members who affirm they are members also claim, I would have to assume that out of their own mouths would come some form of the truth of what they said they believe. So if you are tired of one liner answers, and care to actually point out with some sort of evidence to the contrary, and that would be welcome, then please do so. Other than that the mounting evidence is stacked to support that the Church of Christ gains the label (not the individual members who are deceived be charged.) of being a cult.

First of all, I have been a minister of the Church of Christ for over thirty years and I can assure you, we defend the deity of Christ with vigor. Secondly, the Churches of Christ have no "corporate headquarters." Each congregation is autonomous and self governing. There is no leadership beyond the local group of members. Are you sure you are not talking about the "United" Churches of Christ? This is a completely different organization and has no association with the Churches of Christ.

Is that video Church of Christ then?

I don't know. I did not watch it. If they are denying the deity of Christ and claim to have "corporate headquarters" they certainly do not represent the mainstream Churches of Christ and would not be recognized as such by the rest of the body no matter what they choose to call themselves.

The Church of Christ I've heard of definitely DOES NOT deny the deity of Christ. Is this another trash a denomination thread without really knowing squat about them?

I think anyone who belongs would be aware if they deny the Deity of Christ. I've heard that accusation directed at a few denominations that don't deny the Deity of Christ.

Okay, First off they never claimed a "corporate headquarters" thats my quote. If you didn't watch the link then how do you confirm or deny? Over and over through the web site and churches news it says. " Church of Christ". If I'm wrong and it indeed is a sites misrepresentation by all means consider this a an opportunity to correct it. If its Not then I'm willing to take back what I said about them denying Jesus Christ as God. I will not take back that they are in heresy of water baptism is necessary for salvation, denial of revelations as a future book, not speaking in tongues as valid for today, and only to sing without instruments.

I went back an took a brief look at the site. They are claiming to be the "Church of Christ" but if their doctrine denies the deity of Christ they certainly need to be exposed.

Interesting note. A former Minister/pastor of Church of Christ had these questions. Could you answer them? Is this true?

"How did the thief on the cross get to heaven without being baptized?"

"How did Cornelius get saved before he was water baptized?"

"Why did Paul say that the Lord did not send him to baptise but to preach the Gospel?"

"Why do we forbid to speak in tongues?"

"Why do we reject musical instruments if God never said to?"

"Why do we teach that we are the only true Christians?"

"Why do we never talk about the Holy Spirit when he is mentioned on virtually every page of the New Testament?"

I have to wonder if certain people spend all their time searching around for denominations they disagree with so they can go around hollering "false teachers--over there over there!" If these people have doctrines you don't agree with, so what? That's between God and them."

When people hear what they believe, if they have the right beliefs themselves, they'll say, "I don't agree because I believe that Jesus is God," and that'll be about it. People can think for themselves.

If only it were just between God and them. Its not. They attempt to drag as many people to hell with them as possible. If that doesn't get you moving to say "thats wrong" then I'm not sure what to say to you.

Well frankly, it's up to people to search the scriptures for themselves. Your warning them will have nothing to do with whether or not they accept false doctrines. This one does look bogus after watching the film, but it's pretty obvious. Again, people think for themselves. I think I was confusing them with the Church of God, which believes in the Deity of Christ.

I'm thinking there's more than one Church of Christ. I'm just sure I've heard of them here in the states and never heard they believed Christ wasn't part of the Trinity.

The Churches of Christ are very prevalent in the southern, western and mid-western states.

I am not taking a stand on this issue but we are to warn of false doctrine especially for the sake of babes in Christ.

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
(Rom 16:17)

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
(2Jn 1:9)
