if we are to keep the 10 commandments which according to you is the commandments that prove you love god then i guess we got no need for this? 22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
[h=3]1 John 3:22-23 then how can you believe in jesus? which is the only way to be saved when we believe in jesus, so one of these gotta be right i let the scripture talk for me and i choose to believe in jesus. because you are saying TO PROVE YOUR LOVE FOR HIM you are keeping the 10 commandments and keeping jesus out of it because you believe the 10 commandments is the commandments we must keep to prove our love for him and totally forget about this one.[/h]

My friend is Adventist, he follows more than the mosaic law, not sacrifice to ceremony (well actually maybe ceremony), but also the dietary laws. Sorry I derailed :P
 
you do realise if you miss 1 day of work you are breaking the commandments right? 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: if you don't do 6 days you are breaking it even if you are sick you must also work every sunday.

1 John 3:19-24

King James Version (KJV)

You need to add verse 24, Josh. Verse twenty four clarifies that the commandments are what is meant here. Yes, obviously we have to believe on Christ and love one another, but you're ignoring these other lines that say "commandments"? Why???
 
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. do if you ever look at a woman and lust you are breaking the commandment, if you look at a car and covet( means to desire, lust) you are breaking the law if you look at anyone's belonging and covet against it you are breaking the commandment and your neighbor is anyone beside yourself by the way so if you look at anyone and covet against something they have you are breaking this commandment

I don't know what to say to this analogy. This is the strangest twist I've heard yet.
 
even if your going to buy a car and covet against it you are breaking the commandment because covet is to desire lust ( desire to have it )

Are you considering what you're saying? You think now we can lie, cheat, steal, commit adultery and every other sin because we're no longer under the law? Don't you hear how unreasonable this thinking is?

but hey it's the truth the commandment say SIX DAYS SHALT THOU LABOUR never said 5 it said 6 days so if your working 5 days a weak your breaking the commandment or if you miss a day of work your breaking the commandment

nope it is impossible when we accept jesus in our hearts( BELIEVE WITH YOUR HEART,BELIEF COMES FROM THE HEART) our nature is completely so they won't be no law against it it won't know to do those things will become servants to righteous 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. [h=3]Romans 6:18 accept and also the spirit doesn't need a law because this is it's nature 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,[/h]23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

you see now.. that is why that is not required from us.. this is what is required from us 22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1 John 3:22-23 jesus makes us righteous when we accept him that's is the only way to walk like him when he is in us, so we won't be pretending to be righteous will be the only thing we know to do
 
Josh, Shiloah is under the impression that if we keep law, God will accept us. when the fact is only those that accept the work of the cross will be accepted. Yes we strive to keep the word of God, yet we all fail. Our only hope is Christ. Is there any man that can keep the law of God. No not one,though we strive, we fail. Not even Paul could keep it nor could Moses to whom it was given. Thats why he longed for a redeemer.
 
To understand the law the commandments : Psalms 19:7-11

7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Psalms 25:8-10

8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
כ10All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
 
People give a moment if you will. Is it possible for any man or women to keep the law. If your answer is yes, then you have no need of Jesus Christ. You do well own your own. The fact is that no man can keep the law and God sent His Son to die for you and me. If this were not true then why send His Son. We are flesh and remain in our flesh until the day. We are redeemed in spirit our minds our being renewed by the word of God. Our bodies have not yet been redeemed. We remain in the flesh. When you got saved your mind changed but your body remained the same did it not. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. We remain in our flesh. The price has been paid yet we remain flesh. When I got saved there was a definite change in my life but my flesh remained the same. Therefore I have not come to perfection my flesh ever opposes me. This same flesh that seen me to rave parties, this same flesh that loved pornography, This same flesh that loved alcholol is forever with me and only by the grace and work of the cross that has set me free can I say praise God and nothing that I have done. Name one law that you can keep that will do the same I dare you.
 
Kerry, do you say that even if a man is BORN OF GOD he still sin? God say the opposite. God says WHOSOEVER is Born of God sinneth NOT, and HE CANNOT sin becasue HE IS BORN OF GOD! Is that true or not. Does anyone who is BORN OF GOD sin or not?

Kerry what is a SAINT? In God's word God refr to SAINTS... what are they? Sinners or not?

Cobus man go with what you have been taught. I don't care, if your faith is placed in the work of the cross and not what your doing. then praise God for that. you are my brother. If you believe you are perfect by the cross and not what you do. praise God for that. is that a license for sin God forbid. It is by the cross that we have the ability to be free from sin and that by Holy Spirit that works in us and not of our own. If you believe that then you are my brother. You are my brother anyway if you trust in Christ.
