Again it was at the Council of Trent when the split here happened, books were removed from the word and all agreed to the 66 books to be the Cannon except the Catholic Church did not want certain books removed and did not have then removed as the rest did.
why remove books that have stood for 2000 years at least, you know the great protestant movement of the early centuries was severe, it s my guess that all soughts of nasty stuff was said,

Just like here, mostly from people claiming to be christian,

tell me can a baptist pastor just open a church tomorrow with out any training, and charge 10 percent.
and then claim that Catholics are bad

do baptist pastors have to sign any agreement with the main churches such as the council Nicaea before they open a church, agreements such as certion doctrines, ,,

i think i should start a new thread and call it are baptist christian..

are protestants christian,,

do baptist pastors have to sign any agreement on how to teach,
because the way i see many many baptists behaving here is not of good teaching to me,

By saying a catholic is not a Christian is not judging. We are not permitted to judge the heart. This can be done by God only. But, we can judge the fruits that an individual bares. Such as false teachings ungodly living. If we say a catholic is not a Christian, because he or she prays to Mary, Eats and drinks the body and blood of Christ over and over. Prays for and speaks to the dead in purgatory(this actually states that what Jesus Christ did on the cross was not enough),
baptize bells(ridiculous). All these things and the rest of their false teaching were not even part of their worship in the beginning of this religion. They were added all along to their worship as the years went by.
absolute nonsense your post is one of total hate towards catholics, get a life and start being a christian.

your saying by saying a catholic is not christian is not judging,,, ?? that has got to be biggest bunch of cod wallop i ever herd.

No catholic is a Christian if he follows the traditions of the catholic church. If he doesn't follow the false teaching of the catholic church, but only the teaching of the Bible this makes him a Christian. No such thing as a catholic Christian, Mormon Christian, Jehovah witness Christian.. These religions and others that add their on doctrines and rules are only, false religions.

Where
in the Bible does it specify these 66 books and no others? Or is that an add-on doctrine of man?

So sorry you don't see in the Spirit
Thanks for you answers in advance
my answer is to you is stop trying to be god and judging who has the spirit,,fori tel you when you are baptized you have the spirit until the day of redemption,

That's a big call. To make that kind of call correctly with no error, you need to know EVERY TEACHING of these churches and understand them completely in the context intended. Right now it seems you are going on pure speculation falsely taught to you by others. Think about it!

This is a BRILLIANT point, because if one was to go by scripture alone, then all these things MUST Be stated in scripture for their theology to make any sense at all.

I can't speak for Protestants, I don't care about European Christianity so I never had anything protest against. :)

I tend to favor Athanasius and I believe that his Easter letter of A.D. 367 and I think it is the inspired word of God.

NPNF2-04. Athanasius: Select Works and Letters - Christian Classics Ethereal Library

But for greater exactness I add this also, writing of necessity; that there are other books besides these not indeed included in the Canon, but appointed by the Fathers to be read by those who newly join us, and who wish for instruction in the word of godliness. The Wisdom of Solomon, and the Wisdom of Sirach, and Esther, and Judith, and Tobit, and that which is called the Teaching of the Apostles, and the Shepherd.

Athanasius still thought Baruch was canon and Esther was deutero-canonical but that was corrected by the Synod of Hippo in 393 and the Council of Carthage in 397.

Councils of Carthage - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It seems like Luther and others introduced a linguistic differentiation: apocrypha vs.
deutero-canonical.

Apocrypha - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Among some Protestants, apocryphal began to take on extra or altered connotations: not just of dubious authenticity, but having spurious or false content, not just obscure but having hidden or suspect motives. Protestants were (and are) not unanimous in adopting those meanings. Martin Luther said "These Books Are Not Held Equal to the Scriptures, but Are Useful and Good to Read".[citation needed] The Church of England agreed, and that view continues today throughout the Lutheran Church, the worldwide Anglican Communion, and many other denominations. Whichever implied meaning is intended, Apocrypha was (and is) used primarily by Protestants, in reference to the books of questioned canonicity. Catholics and Orthodox sometimes avoid using the term in contexts where it might be considered disputatious or be misconstrued as yielding on the point of canonicity. Some Protestants publish Bibles that include the apocryphal books in a separate section (rather like an appendix), so as not to intermingle them with their canonical books.

The KJV 1611, the Geneva Bible 1599, and the Luther Bibel 1534 all have Apocrypha. It was much later that Bibles without Apocrypha were printed.

The Council of Trent's used Jerome, instead of the 397
Council of Carthage, as an index: if it's Jerome's Vulgate then it's scripture--I disagree with that.

I'm sorry but that verse is commonly taken out of context. Jesus is talking about hypocritical judging. How can you judge another of something you yourself are also guilty of? As you can see when you read the whole thing. Jesus warned us about false prophets and said by their fruits you shall know them. How will we discern if one is a false teacher without exercising righteous judgement? We all shall be judged according to the word so use the scriptures as the source.

Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?42 How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

By logic, protestants are more false prophets than Rome would be. IF you'd like to discuss that I will. I'm not accusing, I'm discussing exegetics.

The verses to deal with "judging" here would be for some they can eat meat and it's not a sin. Other's feel bad eating meat and feel it is a sin so they can't.

If both face the same issue of eating meat or not, and for one it's a sin and the other it isn't, who the heck can judge someone else in the faith/

The church of Rome is much more Biblically correct than we are, AND it is still ran the way the leaders of the church during the Apostles lives ran it.

I just cant' agree with all their teachings..... so I'm in the other churches category.

Sola Scriptura is an oxymoron. Scriptura itself says it's not Sola Scriptura. If you accept scripture as the sole and final authority, as people TODAY describe it, (which is a bastardization of what Luther taught and believed, the man who came up with the concept), then you have to accept that it is NOT the sole authority.

Paul disagrees as well.

And the early church historical, ante nicene, letters show otherwise as well.

The further you get from the event, the more fractional it gets, the farther from the original beliefs it goes.

PAUL WROTE TO KEEP THE TRADITIONS ALIVE TO TIMOTHY>

So, do you remove all of Paul's books from your Bible as HE was NOT Christian?

The Apostle Paul was a Christian.

Acts 26:25 And Paul said: I am not mad, most excellent Festus, but I speak words of truth and soberness. 26 For the king knoweth of these things, to whom also I speak with confidence. For I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him. For neither was any of these things done in a corner. 27 Believest thou the prophets, O king Agrippa? I know that thou believest. 28 And Agrippa said to Paul: In a little thou persuadest me to become a Christian. 29 And Paul said: I would to God, that both in a little and in much, not only thou, but also all that hear me, this day, should become such as I also am, except these bands.
