If your basis of being a Christian is being good...honestly you cannot find one
If the basis of being a Christian is humanitarian, there lots of drug lord/ syndicates and even philanthropist that help their neighbours.
If the Basis of being a Christian is FASTING...Muslims are also good at that...
That is why it was compared as to the Christian of the bible...

as defined
1. The disciples of Christ were called Christian (Acts 11:26)
2. King Agrippa almost persuaded to be a Christian by Paul testimony (Acts 26:28)
-Paul testimony: To repent and turn to God (the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob , the God who does not dwell in things made by Hands) and believe in Jesus Christ his Son.
3. Those who are in the household of God.

Having defined that consider this.Peter was rebuked by Paul (gal 2:11)

It plainly boils down to either we believe God or we do not and repent from self being in charge and turn to trust God to in us what we could not do in self.
either I keep the reins and act all good.
Or God gets the rein each day, by me being in agreement with God to be dead to self daily.

you should know your the guy who unlike man has beat his flesh doeeeeeeeeeeee

and have come to the understanding which one saves
So I see it as Holy Ghost baptism that does the saving, being born again agreed?
Now when did the Holy Ghost Baptism take place? Start
[h=3]Acts 1:5[/h]New International Version (NIV)

[SUP]5 [/SUP]For John baptized with[SUP][a][/SUP] water, but in a few days you will be baptized with[SUP][b][/SUP] the Holy Spirit.”

@homwardbound even know your asking me the question to prove me wrong or to make me look stupid, (which is no way for a christian to behave, ill answer so others can benefit, asking a question because you need help is ok to me,

but when your a christian which you claim you are as you have beat your flesh unlike man, i can only assume you asking questions so you may be seen as the good guy and me the bad guy.

you can be batized by water yes,, and if you have never ask god with a sincere heart to receive his spirit before if you have never called out to lord before or never repented with a sincere heart before , then yes you can receive his spirit with water baptism, spiritual baptizing same thing asking the lord with a sincere heart for him to be your friend and to examine your heart so he can see you mean true repentance and wish to change your ways , asking the the lord with a sincere heart for guidance from the holy spirit, but after that if you want to be baptized by water you can as many times as you like, spiritual baptism you can do all by your self in your own time.

Sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you misread me, no intention whatsoever of putting me ever in Moses's seat as the hypocrites did and do as if better than anyone else.
Have Mercy on me oh Lord is my daily co-crucifixion to self, remember the death of Christ so that I might see the resurrection of and be Father lead through the Holy Ghost with fire. that keeps flesh carnal mind dead to worldly things

And I like what you posted. I am not here to battle anyone or beat anyone into truth.
God is the only one that can reveal truth if we ask.
For I know that one waters another plants and God gives the increase if we will stop taking offense and ask God to discern, and not view what is said to us as personal attacks, which we all grew up with and learned to be defensive
Praying you understand this.

Check this out regarding the subject of Sola scriptura
What is the Scripture?
Is it the Bible (from Genesis to Revelation)?
Jesus while readingfrom the book of Isaiah
Luk_4:21 he began tosay to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled, as you'veheard it read aloud."
And in otherfulfilling (Exo_12:46; Num_9:12, Psa_34:20, Psa_35:10)
Joh_19:36 For thesethings were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of himshall not be broken.
The Berean search thescriptures daily
Act_17:11 These weremore noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with allreadiness of mind, and searched thescriptures daily, whether those things were so.
(The Scriptures must have been widely distributed by thenfor the berean to searched it daily, definitely not the bible)
Peter said
2Pe_1:20 Knowing thisfirst, that no prophecy of the scriptureis of any private interpretation.
Peter was referringto the scripture already known at the time he wrote his second letter.Obviously his letters were not part of that scripture.
Based from the above, the scripture which Jesus and theapostles were referring to was the Scripture of the Children of Israel (theTorah (five books of Moses), Psalms and the Prophets) or in short the Old Testamentas we called it.
Now How about the NewTestament?
2Th 2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
Here Paul was pleading to hold fast the traditions whichthey taught. By word, OR ourepistle.
Now, we did not hear what their words were, for we are notborn during their times, and we cannot just trust someone’s word claiming tohave their teaching But what we have are records of their epistles.
and the traditionsthey taught back then were also written in their epistles (letters)
To sum up, the Biblewe have includes not only the Scriptures but also Traditions taught by theapostles (plus the four Gospels (fulfilment of scriptures re: Christ), the Actsof the Apostles and the book of Prophecy of Revelation)
Now who decide whatto put in the Bible?
God used the Babylonian to desolate Jerusalem afterward usedthe Medes/Persian to destroy the Babylonian.
It is not impossible that God used those men who putthose books together (now the Bible) for us to read.
As the Scripturessaid that Christ shall sit on David’s Throne, we are still awaiting the final fulfilmentof that scripture.

It plainly boils down to either we believe God or we do not and repent from self being in charge and turn to trust God to in us what we could not do in self.

First. Know the God you must believe...

Is your God the same god of the muslims?
If you can answer that you can start eliminating which God to believed.

They say that they're very similar if not all the same, but I think there's a dead end when it comes to Catholicism. They get the idea about what they're supposed to believe which is Jesus being the Son of God and you have to follow the commandments, but then they believe there's other ways you can get into heaven which is through works, church and praying to more than one person. Growing up as a Catholic I knew what we were taught about Saints but as far as praying to them is what threw me off when realizing there's Catholics who do so. Mary also being held at just about the same pedestal as Jesus and how people can also pray to her too. It clearly states that anything you also pray and worship to are idols and it also teaches about not worshiping idols. Works and confessing to a priest is what's also taken as another way to get into heaven according to them too. So no, I don't think they're both quite the same even though they have a similar idea. If anyone can back up scripture to support otherwise then by all means, but you're better off messaging me since I may or may not see it here.

Mary is a saint (not an idol)

Mary is seen as the mother of Jesus who was both fully god and fully man,

Mary is not held higher than Jesus, by Catholics

If you are of true repentance then what harm is there in confessing to a priest, they don't charge money for it or ask for a 10 percent tithe , in fact its a free service , and no one forces you to do it, you can just freely walk into a church and do it,, its up to you, and its no difference to you sharing your testimony with fellow Christians,

prayers for the saints,
revelation 5:8 And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

revelation 8:3-4 And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, [SUP]4 [/SUP]and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel.

look at these to scriptures the saints can pray to father, if the saints can not here you then what are they praying for ?

I had a struggle with this forgiving but one day after much prayer and soul searching I started looking at people as Gods creation and we all make mistakes even me and then forgiving made sense

this is what your none denominational churches are doing, article for the daily telegragh

Thirteen states of America and the District of Columbia now recognize gay marriage.

Some Christian denominations, such as the United Church of Christ, accept gay marriage.
The Episcopal Church recently approved a blessing for same-sex couples, but each bishop must decide whether to allow the ceremony in his or her local diocese.
The majority of Christian denominations, however, view homosexual relationships as sinful.
In more hierarchical denominations, like the Roman Catholic Church or the United Methodist Church, individual churches are bound by the policies of the larger denomination.
But non denominational churches and those loosely affiliated with more established groups often individually decide how to address social issues such as gay marriage.

now who is changing the bible here to suit their needs Catholics or people setting up any old none denominational church

That's John Paul II who beat his flesh--you're misreading his whip!

MISREADING THE WHIP OF JOHN PAUL II

Eternal Word Television Network: Blog - by

"As a young man, John Paul the Second was a secular Carmelite devoted to the work of the mystic, St. John of the Cross. Corporal mortification--the use of hair shirts, flagellation etc.-- was for centuries a routine part of religious life."

Pope Benedict XVI (the Bavarian ) and with Bishop Richard Williamson (English ) both agree with you, Quickfire. If they don't like the definition of a word, such as "lies", they just make up a new definition!

There are Christians and wannabes in Every denomination. There is NO denomination that is perfect, and there are those who make a show of their "religousity" for others to see in every one of them.

AN ASIDE:

I would say it's much less Xian to let a person go around looking stupid, or being stupid because you were "acting" a role rather than living it, than it is to expose them so they can correct themselves.

Would you rather "act" a way, other than being sincere and risking your friendship to do the right thing for a brother? The act there, is not very loving, in fact it's selfish.
