I have many thoughts and opinions on it but after reading what alot of post on this site I do not no what is right or wrong. I doubt I ever will. I have heard to many opinions and facts to really make up my mind. There seems to be alot of evidence in the favor of god and against.
I suppose in away I feel as though the Bible could be wrong or misinterpreted (just a thought)
Lol....Hinduism is older than Christianity there are alot of religions that have been in existence 1000 of years before jesus was around. Christianity is a newish religion in comparison
Why would the devil make up religions there would be no point in that
no i have never seen "Half goat man" but I also haven't seen somebody walk on water turn water to wine or heal people with no explanation. I also haven't seen water part down the middle. I have never spoke to God.
Also you say reincarnation is a bad belief What about Jesuses reincarnation
You say other religions are not reliable but have you personally researched into there beliefs fully and understood them fully
For me OP, I had a pretty harsh "musashi face" prayer to "whatever you are, God", and said "ok, enough of the confusion, I want to know what the deal is. why did you bother to make me, and make me wonder, if you will not clarify it all?"
I went through a short "Job" state of mind.
A short time later, I decided that since the concept of money was such a piece of garbage, that I would just start giving it away to help others who were having hard times. A key note on this, I was earnestly concerned for their welfare, not just giving as a reward seeking mechanism. Because I was also giving my physical labor and time as well. And the money I was giving away wasn't my extra money, it was money that I "needed" to pay my own bills and such. I then got my answer to the "why" question in the prayer mentioned above.
I had been blocked from answers, because I had been focused on myself instead of other people.
I tossed out all, or at least most, of the precepts that I had been given about religion and began to re-read the bible, and many other religious texts in a different way, with the assumption that regardless of translation accuracy and literality, it all speaks through metaphor, and that they all use the same "encryption" set. A key note on this, I do believe the miraculous things mentioned in the bible happened, but not primarily to showcase the miracles, rather to ensure that the story that is recorded yields a metaphor that targets me on the inside.
What I found is that many of those stories are a historical record of things that have happened in me, spiritually, some are happening right now, and some are laid out before me. I have expectations, backed up with a present and past tense witness of the 40 or so years of my life that I can remember. All recorded for me, and anyone who believes, long ago.
I know what to expect in my life in the future. And it is sweet in the mouth, sour in the belly. Excruciating, yet not trade-able for all the money in the world.
"Behold, I send my messenger before thy face"
That messenger is the text I'm staring at when I read that verse.
It is quite frankly, "before your face"
An example, at one point I was totally unable to fall asleep except on one side of my body for a very long period of time. Immediately in one day, I was then unable to fall asleep except on the other side of my body. Means a lot when I then read that in Ezekiel, and retrospectively consider the durations and they match up to the time frames given in the text.
And the grand finally of this, is that I finally challenged God personally on the concept that He will deliver the specific tortures preached by modern religions based on the trivial mechanics of those religions.
And found that those hateful translations of His word are "hog wash", what swine wash themselves in.
"Leavened bread", if you like a metaphor that is not as harsh.
I believe 1 timothy 2:1-6 in all of it's "in your face", to the point, matter of fact, literal penmanship.
"Born again" is relearning everything.
Encapsulated, my message is this -
Love God
Love others
Turn away from messing up, so that it stops happening, and enter the kingdom of "heaven"
If a person does this, the bible is their personal witness, instead of an external confusion.
And now I have lived and proclaim...
All glory, honor and power to Him who sits on the throne.
Because my warped imagination alone would not have yielded the results that I have experienced.
The Jesus Christ that I believe in is much bigger and personal and down to earth, than the one I was taught in church.
There's my witness, for what it's worth. Hope it helps you somehow.

Lol....
Christianity didn't start at the birth of Jesus, instead Christianity's roots began at the beginning of the world.
Sure, Jesus came after, but Jesus is the fulfillment of the Old Testament which was written thousands of years before Jesus' birth.
Water to wine? healing people? No explanation?
the explanation is there. It just depends on if you can believe it.
Jesus is the Son of God--he IS God, and he can perform miracles! <3
Reincarnation: jesus didn't reincarnate. He resurrected from the dead. He didn't have a "new life", nor did he enter the "cycle" again. He came back to LIFE from the Dead. He's God's Son--it's not impossible.
I've not fully fully researched all the religions...but i have a pretty deep knowledge of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam. XP
What are you confused about? Christianity is very different from them all! <3
honestly i was just like you, until well i got changed, i use to wonder " what if im just wasting my life, i don't know what is real" ( before God saved me of course) i mean how can anyone know and really FEEEL what is the truth? they are more than 1000 religions how can anyone know what is real, i was never like this, living a christian life was just another guy " enjoying " his life alot of parties smoking not really caring about anything, until something happen to me, i had a near death experience then reality hit me like a ton of bricks " I COULD'VE DIED! where would i had gone? " so after that i was determined to find out what the truth is ( i grew up in a christian home but i wasn't really into it) so i went and confess all my wrong doings to my mom, and went to church, then something miraculous happen, i was determined to change and find an anwser i literally surrendered my life to God at church and when i did something supernatural happen that i never experienced in my life..in this event that was taking place it like hit me off of my feet and i started weeping on the floor ( im not someone who would cry just like that) and was crying out thank you jesus, i didn't know why but i was and couldn't help myself, then after church was over this hunger came over me like never before i just had to knew Jesus and know about him never felt nothing like that in my life was like i hadn't eaten in weeks, so i went home and start reading the bible, then i notice something different, it was like it was completely magnified i understood exactly what everything was saying then i came across this verse [h=3]2 Corinthians 5:17[/h]King James Version (KJV)what do mean
God is older than man, so christianity is older than all religions really.
Are you serious?! Do you have any idea who the devil is? The devil definitely would have a motive. He wants us to have false faith so we don't know about god. He hates humans, and god even more.
...Are you that dense... Jesus, who is god, walked on water, turned water into wine, and healed people. There is an explanation for it, and that would be that he is god and can do whatever he wants! (There is a more in-deph reason but I won't say it unless your that desperate. And just so you know, people speak to god all the time, and sometimes, he does respond.
Jesus is god, he reincarnated to prove how awesome he is to everyone. Reincarnation of humans is silly.
No, I guess other religions are something I have not experienced, but I do know of some of their beliefs and know that they are wrong.
I just don't understand were your faith comes from were you conviced by someone or somthing
1. which God are we talking about
2. maybe the devil has a good reason for hating God that the Bible doesn't tell us
3. if the no goat people then why are Dinosaurs not mentioned in the bible neither is the ice age
4.I thought god doesn't intervene
5.How could you possibly say they are wrong until you have died and visted the other side (if there is)
Yes, i was. ^_^
i was convinced by science, the Bible, the Truth, and God.
you could say i was "reawakened". XP
Lol, there HAS to be some sort of truth in this world.
There HAS to be answers to the questions of : Who are we? Where did we come from? Where did the world come from? What is the purpose of Life? And Is God Real? and Are we naturally good? or naturally evil?
I struggled with those questions....especially the "What is the purpose of life?" and i was mentally, and physically, and emotionally drained. I was actually already doing a LOT of bad things....and i was at a the end of my rope.
And God found me again. He showed me--by prompting me to read the Bible--and i was able to find the Truth that He was trying to show me for so long.
The Bible seriously has all the answers, so i'd recommend you read it. <3
but...i'd also suggest I Don't Have Enough to be an Atheist (i have NO clue what religion you are..but that book answers every religion basically. XD)
What is your worldview?
What do you think about the questions i was struggling with?
So then why do alot of christians strongly belivie that natral selection is a lie and why do they belive that the big bang is a lie when God could have created the big Bang himself we have alot of evidince to prove that these are facts are true just no evidence for what causes them to accure in the first place
that's a good start keep seeking you will find brother! if your looking for evidence, creation itself should tell you enough did nothing create all of this? impossible.1. I do not have religion
2. Not sure what you mean by worldveiw
3. They are all the questions that I want to no the answers. I spend nearly everyday for hour or more wondering the possible answers over and over. Why we are here, is there a point to existance is right or wrong real or is anything real.I never really come up with solution no matter what scientific arti I read or watch they never really have the answer instead loads of evidence but when I talk to christian you seem to have all the aswers but now evidance. I hope this makes sense.
I really don't see any point arguing with you any longer when your obviously thick and won't listen to anyones opinion but your own. If you really want to know the answers then fine, but if you undermine those as well, I'm done.
1. The one true god.
2. It does tell us, he had jealousy and selfishness and no angel is ever supposed to feel that way. The devil wanted to be god, so god had no choice but to create hell and send him and his followers (demons) to hell.
3. Maybe the guys who wrote the bible felt no need in including them because 1. They thought them as normal animals or 2. God didn't bother to tell them of them because dinosaurs are not important to religion and maybe dinosaurs are before man
4. Different dispensations dude
5. Well according to their religions, if I die I'll be fine, so I don't have to worry. But if christianity is correct, then I'd be better off believing in it than the other beliefs.
Personally, I believe the big bang happened because of God. In Genesis the Hebrew suggests God spread out the heavens which is an accurate way of depicting the big bang. Yes there is evidence to support the big bang but there are also unanswered questions about it also. Christians acting on faith can make dogmatic claims that science can't. Even so many "skeptics come here and misrepresent concepts as facts.
I've thought of this on and off since I became a serious Christian and lived my life closer to how God wants me to.....If the Bible is just a bunch of crock and Jesus didn't exist, then I still lived a clean life and used a GREAT example of how to live, think and treat others to guide my life. PLUS I met some wonderful people doing so (including the missionary from Vietnam staying at my house as we speak) and had a great time.![]()
I thought the "big bang" was a Kabbalistic idea, rather than a scriptural one.Personally, I believe the big bang happened because of God. I am so sorry that I ever questioned your beiliefs I was under the impression that this was a debate not an agree with everything that Bravewolfd says. how can you possibly think that dinosaurs were considers normal animals they would have eaten people and dwarfed other animals and nobody seemed to of noticed them randomly disapear off the face of the world. I am only using MY LOGIC AND MY OPINION WHICH I AM VERY MUCH ENTITLED TO AS WELL AS YOUR OWN I will respect your beliefs and opinions. I was only asking questions not dictating to that I am right and you are wrong actual more towards that point that MAYBE we could both be wrong.
