Hi all,
Just wondering if demons can materialize in the physical world......?Just curious.
No. They can only possess those who have no faith in Christ, then they could have a body. Or animals perhaps, but they have to have permission from God to do anything. Remember when Jesus cast the legions of devils out of the man from the caves? They begged Jesus to be allowed to enter the swine. He gave them permission then they entered the pigs and ran them off the cliff. No scriptural evidence suggests that demons can produce their own physical body they have to possess something else.

True enough, Crossnote ...but it would freak me out to have a personal encounter witha demon.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Don't forget that Angelic beings took on human forms and ate with Abraham! So I'm sure that it is possible for the fallen Angels to do the same to deceive people!

Actually, you are partially right. If a Christian does not sin they will not have a demonic problem at all. However, Christians who are engaging in sin are outside of God's will and outside of His protection. God will never protect sin and demons can inhabit those with a sin issue.

The bible says satan entered into Judas as Judas went to sell out Jesus. It is a doctrine of demons that all Christians are impervious to the attacks and schemes of satan. We are instead warned to put on the whole armor of God, warned that satan is a roaring lion seeking to devour who ever he can and we are warned to not be ignorant of the schemes of the enemy. Unfortunately all too many Christians think of Satan as a defeated toothless puppy when in fact he is still very capable of inflicting great harm. As time draws near were satan knows he will be dealt with he will even usher in the antichrist and the great tribulation.

Stop looking at demons and the devil and keep your eyes firmly fixed on Jesus and you will have no problems.

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, [SUP]2 [/SUP]looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God."

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.' James 4:7

(BTW Demon possesion doesn't count - I already know that's real....I am talking about a fallen angel taking on a bodily form.)
This text answers that the fallen angels can (or at least, that they can produce offspring with women).

Genesis 6:2 - 4 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

I think that fallen angels may be different to demons (although the bible doesn't state this explicitly), but we're not told anywhere in the bible of a demon taking on a bodily form.

Hi all,

They can possess a person as they have enter into Peter and Judas. If they can enter in a person, they can control what they see or here. The spirits are in a realm that we cannot perceive it in the physical nature. But they can manifest themselves in our realm as God had done when He was the burning bush. I believe that God had given Moses the ability to see and hear the spiritual realm in order for Moses to be able to see Him. In the book of Daniel, they has saw an image of a man with the three men in the furnace and a hand had appear before many also. But I believe when we are asleep, our souls goes into a place called the astral plane which is the spiritual realm. To us we consider it to be a dream world but I believe that we are having an out of body experience. And at time as are soul is leaving the body, it wanders in the physical realm at times believing that it is in it physical body, and some times they'll meet up with evil spirits that attack them.

Galatians 4:3
So also, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forces of the world.

Ephesians 6:12
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

I would think that a demon should be more afraid of you than you it. Consider the one who lives inside you. You are satan's undoing.

Where do demons live? They find a person who they can tempt and make that person's body their residence.
They are in almost of everyone, our thoughts are not always our thoughts, it thinks through us.
"Take every thought captive". scripture.

These thoughts are not backed up by scripture, and they come from the world of the occult. Dangerous.

Should we only talk about Jesus?

Can't we also talk about domestic violence, abortion, teen pregnancy, the debt, our sick neighbors, gun control, etc, etc, etc. So we can discuss those issues and do, but for what ever reason you seem to react negatively as we discuss the schemes of the enemy.

Maybe this is the reason why women should not be senor pastors? Maybe they just want to sugar coat reality and think of Jesus and cute puppies only? What on earth would you do if a man came to you for help and disclosed he dabbled in the occult and now was possessed?

No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

WHEN Satan, the hater of all good, saw how they continued in prayer, and how God communed with them, and comforted them, and how He had accepted their offering--Satan made an apparition.

2 He began with transforming his hosts; in his hands was a flashing fire, and they were in a great light.

3 He then placed his throne near the mouth of the cave because he could not enter into it by reason of their prayers. And he shed light into the cave, until the cave glistened over Adam and Eve; while his hosts began to sing praises.

4 And Satan did this, in order that when Adam saw the light, he should think within himself that it was a heavenly light, and that Satan's hosts were angels; and that God had sent them to watch at the cave, and to give him light in the darkness.

5 So that when Adam came out of the cave and saw them, and Adam and Eve bowed to Satan, then he would overcome Adam thereby, and a second time humble him before God.

6 When, therefore, Adam and Eve saw the light, fancying it was real, they strengthened their hearts; yet, as they were trembling, Adam said to Eve:--

7 "Look at that great light, and at those many songs of praise, and at that host standing outside that do not come in to us, do not tell us what they say, or whence they come, or what is the meaning of this light; what those praises are; wherefore they have been sent hither, and why they do not come in.

8 "If they were from God, they would come to us in the cave, and would tell us their errand."

9 Then Adam stood up and prayed unto God with a fervent heart, and said:--

10 "O Lord, is there in the world another god than Thou, who created angels and filled them with light, and sent them to keep us, who would come with them?

11 "But, lo, we see these hosts that stand at the mouth of the cave; they are in a great light; they sing loud praises. If they are of some other god than Thou, tell me; and if they are sent by Thee, inform me of the reason for which Thou hast sent them."

12 No sooner had Adam said this, than an angel from God appeared unto him in the cave, who said unto him, "O Adam, fear not. This is Satan and his hosts; he wishes to deceive you as he deceived you at first. For the first time, he was hidden in the serpent; but this time he is come to you in the similitude of an angel of light; in order that, when you worshipped him, he might enthrall you, in the very presence of God."

13 Then the angel went from Adam, and seized Satan at the opening of the cave, and stripped him of the feint he had assumed, and brought him in his own hideous form to Adam and Eve; who were afraid of him when they saw him.

14 And the angel said to Adam, "This hideous form has been his ever since God made him fall from heaven. He could not have come near you in it; therefore did he transform himself into an angel of light."

15 Then the angel drove away Satan and his hosts from Adam and Eve, and said unto them, "Fear not; God who created you, will strengthen you."

16 And the angel went from them.

17 But Adam and Eve remained standing in the cave; no consolation came to them; they were divided in their thoughts.

18 And when it was morning they prayed; and then went out to seek the garden. For their hearts were towards it, and they could get no consolation for having left it.

Only angels can take Human form "as some entertain angels unawares" now are they fallen angels or Gods angels. But demons seek a body to posses . I could go in detail but some would ridicule. But I don't care, demons come from the pre adamic race that was destroyed in a pre adamic flood. The Earth was void and darkness was upon the face of the earth and God said let there be dry land. Then after noah He promised to never flood the Earth again and set the rainbow as a sign.

I know come on, I got thick skin, but where do you propose demons come from as they are clearly not fallen angels.

That was a cold blow bringing up women pastors when the subject is not that nor has she expressed aspiration to such. She simply made a statement where our focus should be and backed it up with an appropriate Scripture.

14 For they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty.

Cast blame for wrongdoing and sin where it belongs, on each and every one of us. Not on demons. Adam and Eve tried to do that and God was very displeased.
