There's reasons. There's always reasons. But that's not the point. We gotta get this straightened out. What is it we need to do to fix this thing - this hardship you're going thru? Prioritize your needs and then put your challenge(s) in a numerical sequence so one thing at a time can be pushed thru. When all of them surround you like they are, they make you think there's no way out. So what's some of your priorities and then what's some of your challenges? This is just like figuring assets and liabilities except on a physical/emotional level. So here's a first thing you can do - prioritize your list of goals and the challenges keeping you from your goals and then (if you feel you can) share it. There's people here that can figure out a logical sequence of events to fulfill your goals. Once that's done you have a plan with an objective and then we can start acting on it. That's the action part, but you don't want to start that without a plan.
You are part and parcel of the Body of Christ. Your hardship is felt by the entire body. You might only consider yourself about as useful as a little toe, but when that toe hurts, the entire body can be disabled. So your pain is my pain and we need to figure this challenge out!

I'm gonna ask you all a question.
I am in no way interested in a relationship with anyone right now, I'm about 90% content with being single, the 10% being those times where I'm like, "Ugh...I'm single. This stinks." But 98% of the time (the 2% being like...MONTHS ago. And I was DEFINITELY not interested in him for MANY reasons.), no guy takes notice of me, none of them have ever really gone up and said hi to me, minus one, but I haven't seen him in months.
I'll see threads at times saying, "Looks don't matter, but at the same time they really do." Now I'm not saying I'm ugly or I plan on changing my wardrobe, but it seems like guys like girls who dress up. I'm a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl. I don't do anything with my hair besides brush it, and on the occasion dry it. I don't do makeup, I don't have time for that stuff. Plus my pores are large enough on their own without more dirt and grime from makeup getting in them, making that even worse.
Anyways....my question is, does my not dressing up and not really doing anything to "make me look pretty" really turn guys away? I mean, I don't really care right now, I'm just trying to graduate and get to college. But I am extremely curious on that. It makes for an interesting topic.

I don't think so little Christian, in fact most guys don't like girls with a lot of make up. My beautiful 17 year old Niece won't leave the house without her eye make up on. That makes me sad, she doesn't need it! Natural is better. Being yourself is even better.
I don't want to sound cruel, but I've always wondered if guys go after girls with a lot of makeup and revealing clothes because they think they're easy. And men please don't get mad at me. I know most men like a normal gal.

a good guy will sense whether or not you are comfortable. So... if you like dressing comfy, and wear something which makes you feel like you are in a straight jacket, he will probably sense you are tense (rhyme not intended
) and shy away.

Yeah I once went on a date with a girl who was wearing an uncomfortably high skirt that she kept tugging on and 4 inch heels, which made her walk like a Neanderthal.
Couple that with playing ping pong, miniature golf, go carts, shopping and dining, ugh no thanks. She was terribly untalented at everything, except shopping.
LOL I've tried to wear dressier stuff that I thought I looked nice in, but weren't comfortable and felt incredibly awkward.
As I said, it was just something that I thought about. Maybe it's just teen guys being...well...guys.
And I don't care, I have a lot of growing up to do, and if I marry, my future husband probably has some growing up to do, too. So why bother trying to get guy's attention right now? Not gonna be worth it right now to me. It was just like, "What if they don't like me as much because I'm not dressed up? Wouldn't know why, because if I got married, they're probably gonna see me in casual wear 6 out of 7 days of the week. But I wonder...."
Also....how do you do ping pong and minigolf....in basically a miniskirt? Eek. Simply the sound of that makes me feel uncomfortable.

I've always wondered why girls wear clothes that they are constantly tugging on, as if they weren't aware just how short it was, or why they wear heels when they're clearly uncomfortable.
Some women can wear heels and wear them well. My coworker wears 4 inch heels and walks just fine. I'm of the type where I would likely break an ankle wearing heels like that, and I would shuffle more than walk.

I'm agreeing with fen, but, too, make-up is not bad either, sometimes. Situation dictates. Make-up does have its place, but, it's in situations that warrant it's use. but, I agree that make-up more often that not clouds a girl's true beauty.
We want to be ourself, bottom line. And, IF you are the type of person who can make make-up look great, then, go for it, and, if it makes YOU feel more comfortable, go for it. A combo of those two is perfect. And, even more perfect than all that is following the Lord's leading, praying for His perfect look for you. Don't worry, He will answer

As a guy, i have always leaned towards women who wore little to no makeup, didn't spend a lot of time on their hair or worry a lot about clothes. In fact the very first girl i was Really in love with was this way. She was not the type of girl guys went chasing after. So yeah, there probably are a lot of guys who may feel the way you're asking, but there are guys out there who will go crazy for you just the way you are. And i mean this purely as a friendly compliment and nothing else, but you are pretty enough now anyways.
