It's fiction. God never created monsters. They are symbols . a "Dragon" or serpent, is symbolic of Satan. The dragon is not a literal animal , but is that man, Satan that supernatural angle/cherub ; a man.
Tell that to this little guy, the Bearded Dragon:

And this smelly-breathed brute, the Komodo Dragon:

There were never any fire-breathing dragons or normal dragons.
There were never any unicorns, mermaids, half human half horse creatures, or any other fairy tale creatures.

So you are saying that there are big dinosaures hiding somewhere on this earth ?
Dinosaurs are not extinct, neither are they in hiding.

The reason dragons/dinosaurs were able to attain their enormous size is that the world's climate prior to the Flood was conducive to great longevity. The atmosphere was more dense and had a greater concentration of oxygen, and there was protection from harmful solar radiation. There are giant specimens of just about every known animal, and lots of unknown ones, in the fossil record, including humans.

Dinosaurs exist today in miniature.

[h=3]Psalm 148[/h]King James Version (KJV)

148 Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:

Yes, dinosaurs are mentioned in the earliest book of the bible. (Job)
Also, there are accounts of flying reptilian like creatures in Britain in the early middle ages, and also american indians had tales past down through generations of a "thunderbird" which resembled a pterodactyl.
There is no proof that these creatures are ancient dinosaurs IMO, I believe they are simply the Hippopotamus and Alligator. Back then with primitive tools, they would have seemed to be beasts hard to handle by merely human effort.

Well, its not expressly important. What is important is the teaching.
From my studies, I believe its important if one desires to grow in knowledge of The Word, and knowledge I assure you, knowledge strengthen's faith, not the oppissite

In understanding these things, it mentally prepares one for the Incredible deception that IS going to take place prior to Christ's return, as in Daniel CH:12 and Revelations.

ALL of the things spoken about in this thread have relevance; but without the book of Enoch, which is a very contentious issue on here, one will NEVER be able to draw any Real conclusions.

For that matter, there really isn't any agreement on anything and that includes Christ too! pretty desolate situation if one wanted my opinion LOL.

I don't know about the rest of you's; but when I was growing up, there were many pictures in the stained glass windows that had some VERY strange illustrations on them. When I inquired about them; I was just told that we were not to understand these things, they are for the priest's, cardinals, bishops etc... to be concerned with; LOL upon reflection.

The generations prior to Abraham lived up to as long as 900 and some odd years; Enoch is the 7th generation from Adam & Eve, the FIRST preacher of Righteousness. So there IS aprox. a possibility of 7000 flesh years right there;(but not quite; because NO man would live a GOD'S day (1000 years); AFTER the sin in the garden) And there IS Real History that pre-dates Adam & Eve.

Should investigate what Enoch was prophesying of; IF! you really desire to Know :)

Psalm 74

[SUP]13 [/SUP]Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.

[SUP]14 [/SUP]Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

They were able to build the pyramids, but couldn't catch a croc? I've seen people do it with their bare hands.
This is obviously speaking of an animal far beyond the size and strength of an alligator or crocodile. A hippo has a tiny tail, so it could not be the Behemoth, which has a "tail like a cedar tree".

I think all dragon stories are tales of dinosaurs - after the flood dinosaurs became less and less common, eventually dying out. Oral traditions without a point of reference(ie living dinosaurs) tend to become inflated to make the story more interesting - not like they had movies back then

[h=3]Job 41[/h]King James Version (KJV)

1 Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?
2 Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?
3 Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?
4 Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever?
5 Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?

18 By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
19 Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out.
20 Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron.

21 His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.

31 He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment.
32 He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary.
33 Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.
34 He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.

Dragons and winged beasts are throughout folklore and myth, most peoples and countries have dragons in their history. It might be a picture of a dragon on the national flag, or statues or stories of courageous men slaying fire breathing reptiles

The question is did Flying Fire Breathing Dragons exist ? or is it made up.

The Bible mentions fire breathing horses, so why not fire breathing dragons?

Isdaniel, you ask A LOT of questions. Don't forget to research and study some of this for yourself.

Another living remnant of the dinosaurs. The Australian Moloch horridus (Thorny Devil Lizard):

Here is the earliest story I am aware of. Try reading the dragon/serpent (beginning at paragraph 12) as a modern bulldozer with heat ray (the beard is the backhoe), and see if it makes better sense that way. (The heat rays are called shamirs in Hebrew, nekhba in Egyptian, and Shiucoatl in Aztec, and are fairly well attested. Caves that could have been dug by them have been noted.) Ancient Egypt: the Mythology - The Shipwrecked Sailor

For more details see p. 110 and 131-132 of the pdf file in my website: http://www.kenbehrens.com/Ancient%20Technology.pdf
