Are you an end times watcher? The book of Ezekiel calls to to be on watch for the signs although we may never know the hour of Jesus return. Do you believe in the rapture? Could this happen before the second coming? What's with the weather and sounds in the sky around the world? Recently the Philippians may have lost possibly 10,000 people they are suspecting although less has been reported. Birds falling from the sky, trumpet sounds in Canada, Florida, everywhere, and what about the booms in Clinton, WI? The river turned blood red in some areas as well as the blood red moons that have occurred and are coming in 2014. The is om comet will be on Nov 21st. Christians are being murdered and attacked in Africa, China, Iran, Iraq and more. What do you all think is happening? Are your churches starting to prepare you? Let me know your thoughts.
 
I am a watcher, but not avidly, if that makes sense. I am aware that time is drawing to a close and so I must be about the Lord's business, not the world's busyness. I think that we can get so caught up in the end time things that we fail to be relevant and useful now. I'm not saying this about you, catz, just in general. :)

Yes, I believe in the rapture. :) I believe that we are raptured before the time of Jacob's Trouble, also known as the Great Tribulation to most. I believe that all we are waiting for is the sun and moon to turn black and the instant that happens, we're taken up.

My previous pastor taught on this, but my current one does not. He is fairly new at being our pastor, so he hasn't really had a chance to show his stands on these things, so who can say? I would like to know more, but I want to make sure I'm hearing from a godly source, not just any person, you know?

Anyway, those are my thoughts on your thread. :)
 
True, to all. You can get caught up on the signs and lose focus on life. But what is life? But that which God has given us to do what? When you made the choice to follow Jesus and accept Him what did you choose? Didn't you choose to serve Him? "For He himself came to serve not to be served" according to His Word. How do you serve Him? Do you spread his message? Are we not responsible to let everyone we know about Him? According to Ezekiel 3:17-20 it states we are called to be aware of signs, to give warning to others that time is running out to "turn from their sins and turn to God". According to Hebrews 9:28 we are to "eagerly" wait for Christ's return, not just passively wait around.
"Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when He will return from the wedding, that may open to Him immediately. Blessed are those servants whom the master, when He comes, will find watching."Luke 12:35-36. When we are chosen by God and we choose to accept Him in our hearts we are all called to minister and to spread his message to turn from sin and to turn to God. According to the book of Ezekiel chapter 3 we are responsible if we do not spread His message when we know the truth. "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. When I say to a wicked person, 'You will surely die, and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.
But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself." Ezekiel 3:17-19
You now know....you are now accountable.
 
I'm pretty new to Christ (just returning to the church this year) I believe in the end times and that it is near. I can't see the world getting any worse than it already is. But I know that it will get worse before Jesus raptures the church and the great tribulation begins
 
Guys...look at Matthew 24. The point of that...and the book of Revelation is that things are just going to continue happening as long as sin is in this world. There is no such thing as the rapture. I used to think it is biblical...but it isn't. we are all going to go through trials of life...death, economic troubles, famine, and war...that's just a part of life since sin has been introduced in the world. No where in the Scriptures are we told we get an escape route out of trials. Nor are we promised another coming. We are only promised 1 second coming which is going to be a non-secretive display. If you were to include the rapture, that makes it a THIRD coming. As Christ said, he's only coming back again...one more time. Whether literal or symbolic...I don't know. Stop obsessing with the "end times" events and focus on continuing being a church spreading the Gospel. Just like the apostles endured persecution, so must we. Enough said.
 
I would be careful saying with authority that there is no such thing as the Rapture, as verses can be shown in support of it and verses can be shown against it. This is one of the topics that is all about filters and upbringing. Therefore, when it comes to these things, it is far better to say, "I believe there is no such thing as the Rapture" rather than stating it as absolute fact because, really, who can know the mind of God?
 
Once in the air thessalonians and then to the earth in judgement Revelation you can stay if you want but im going to be with him sis!!:)
 
I believe in the Rapture and I am a Pre-Trib. :) I don't get into debates about it...usually. ;) I just state it as I did there: I believe. Simple.
 
No rapture. Only ONE second coming. Not two second comings. Or would that be a second and third coming?

Bad translation from the Greek.

"Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord." 1 Thess. 4:17

The word "meet" in Greek is ἀπάντησιν or apantesin. This word has the technical meaning in the Hellenistic world related to the visits of dignitaries to cities where the visitors would be formally met by the citizens, who went out from the city and would ceremonially escort the dignitary BACK TO THE CITY!

That means Jesus is going to come once a second time, and we, the believers in Christ will meet him and then come back with him to earth. And it won't be hidden!

This word is only used 3 times in the Bible. The other two are

"But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’" Matt 24:6

The virgins come out to meet the bridegroom, then return with him.

"And the brothers there, when they heard about us, came as far as the Forum of Appius and Three Taverns to meet us. On seeing them, Paul thanked God and took courage. [SUP]16 [/SUP]And when we came into Rome, Paul was allowed to stay by himself, with the soldier who guarded him." Acts 28:15-16

The people come out to meet Paul and then return with him to Rome.

God wrote the Bible so there would be no ambiguities or false doctrines. By relying on English versions for eschatology, you lose the essential meaning of the text. The Greek is very clear, especially since the word is used so seldom. God doesn't make mistake in his word choices by the original authors in the original languages. Only translators make mistakes. Or those who read the wrong things into the passages.

Christ is going to return, we will meet him then return with him. No pre-mid-post anything. No special exemptions. Just go meet Christ and return with him.

So no rapture, no third coming!

As far as end times watch, I find I am a bit too busy doing the will of God for my life to worry about some supposed signs which come and go with each false teacher who tries to whip up the people to believe Christ is going to be taking them home and they get off free with no experience of persecution, trouble or sorrow.

Always remember, this eschatology has been popularized in the 20th century by Hal Lindsay and Tim LaHaye in their FICTION books. That should say something about reading the Bible better, and not listening to false prophets.

Jesus will return at the command of the Father, and not when a few rich people think things are getting bad!

PS. My apologies to those who have heard this lecture at least 20 times.

But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to "escape" all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.

That verse only applies to persecution of the apostles that takes place after the ascension of Christ. Context people ;)

According to the context, Jesus was in the temple with his disciples.......not apostles.

There are christian who worship the end times.

Jesus comes back and wins. Its about Jesus. If we are here or not, that is in His hands.

Just think on this, when Jesus comes back He will kill so many, the blood will run bridle high for 180 miles. I understand wanting the hell of this world to end and maybe even God taking his vengeance out on all those ''evil'' people but living your life entirely around end time prophecy is an idol.

Every generation thinks its the last.

The difference between the normal every day trials, tribulations and persecutions we face as christians and the end time Tribulation is this....the events in the tribulation are from God. I will not say the rapture is definite well founded theology but I see no reason for God to purposely give this trial to saved people.

We should be aware of the signs. When they do come, I think Holy Spirit indwellt people will recognise them, wether they are an end time expert or not.
