I always find it so strange that the world keeps on keeping on while I'm stuck in my own misery for a while. But it's nice to start coming out of that and catch up with things I've missed.

And now...pie time.

Thank you all for your prayers. :) It's just going to be another hard Thanksgiving this year...I'm thankful, but I'm also hurting over some losses. I just need to take life day by day, step by step, and be patient. Won't be easy, for sure. But...I can do this.

I think I'm gonna take about a week away from CC. Just need some time with family and myself, and can't achieve either if I'm on Facebook or CC all day.

See you all next week!

Searching online for old books and saw a mystery book called 'Nibbled to death by ducks'
I had a good chuckle.

~When we calculate in math we seek to determine the value of things. We add, subtract, and multiply things in order to figure out how much there is. God wants you to calculate what is more valuable, and what truly has worth; but He is not looking for you to have the power in yourself to carry the math out. He alone can cleanse you of your idols and save you. The true Christian is the most logical person in the world because by faith he has done the math right and calculated correctly and found Christ more valuable than everything.
-The Calculation of True Faith, Tim Conway.

I have to watch myself I think. My roommates boyfriend is I am 99% sure an INFP. I've never met another one in real life, getting to chatty with him I think (like nothing inappropriate, just books and stuff). It's my natural draw towards connection and mutual understanding. Need to back up and check myself.

I booked the weekend away in the mountains. Its a two hour drive south. I needed a place that is remote and will give me time to think, spend time with the Lord, and admittedly finish some paper work on my laptop (over a coffee during breakfast). I need to disconnect from people for just a little while, just to rest my mind and thoughts. It felt like it was all taking place once everything was booked this afternoon.

Then I realised the place has free wifi...

NNOOOOOOOOOO...

@ Arlene89 Your avatar really made me smile this morning upon seeing it! Thank You! Behold...the Power of the Taco & The Joy it can bring!!!! Indeed. ;)

In other news...for those of you who celebrate in turkey day...Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I don't so much anymore due to living near absolutely no friends and/or living family members. I will now take this moment to insert a cliche' yet very true chrisitanese type statement & that is that we should be giving thanks every day to God for what we have & not just on the fake history twisted to fit our own guilty consciences days.

@ lil_Christian Hopefully the week away from CC will be spent surrounded by the love of your family & in getting some awesome face to face time with the Lord. May He build you up,strengthen & comfort you mightily, sister!
((hugssssssssss)) and get yer' buns back ASAP...lol :)

Somehow, it's become a "thing" for me to bring apple pie to Thanksgiving dinner with my family. I'm really not sure why- the last several times (which also happen to be the first several times...yes, that's how my brain is working this very early morning hour), I messed the pies up somehow. A serious lack of sugar- the pies were waaaay tart. TART. Last year, in fact, I had to open a pie up and add sugar to the filling and stir it around, rendering the pie less pie-like and more cobbleresque.

So this year, someone let slip that I would make apple pie. And I was like...NOOOO...but apparently, even when the pie is bad, it's still pretty good (or my family are all liars and trying to spare my feelings...which is silly...but sweet of them, I suppose) and my mother turned down someone else's offer to bring apple pie because, she said, Cristen is bringing apple pie and it's GOOD.

That's a lot to live up to.

So, late last night when I finally got around to baking, I was verrrrrry careful to make sure the filling was sweet enough, and the apples cooked enough, and the crust...crusty...enough...

I've made a masterpiece. I just want y'all to know. It's delicious. Well, I assume it is; I haven't had a slice, but you know, tasted components before cooking it...

I will probably not even eat any of it. There will be pumpkin pie and chocolate creme pie to consume. I might not even eat any dinner...less turkey, more pie.

....This has been a pie post. Thank you and enjoy your Thanksgiving.

OR ELSE.

Happy Thanksgiving!

And I was thinking last night: it's proper to love one's self, since God loves us and He's perfect, so it's obviously the right thing to do. However, there's a difference between loving one's flesh, and wanting the true best for yourself, which is God's choice for you.
