If I am a drug addict, and you come to me and say 'stop taking drugs or you're going to hell', I might turn round and say 'stop insinuating that people are fools, you're going to hell', and you might say 'don't tell me that I am going to hell, I know God's path', and I might say 'if you knew God's path you wouldn't be so nasty', and you might say 'then move away from your sin! I'm trying to protect you, sinner!', and I might say 'you move away from YOUR sin! Stop calling me sinner! You're a sinner too!', and you might say ....
see where this is going?
...
'All is permitted, but do not use this freedom to indulge desire, rather serve one another, humbly, in compassion'.
Hatred begets hatred, condemnation begets condemnation, spite begets spite. And the longer any of us dwell in eye for eye, the quicker for the whole world to be blind. That isn't the bible, but it's pretty damn true.
'You have heard it said 'love your friends, hate your enemies', but I say to you 'have compassion for those against you' etc
