This counter culture bad boy taught me about the realities of Poverty. I volunteered and learned first hand what being ridiculously poor is all about. I learned why the popular phase "Get a job" is pointless to the realities of Homeless Americans. Thanks Shane!

Hey look its Soren Kierkegaard!

Did you know that he put the Danish State Church on blast for being lazy and taking their faith for granted. He said that many "Christians" had no idea what it meant to be a Christian, because everyone was a Christian.

He taught me the difference between Christian Pop culture, Tradition and Christianity. How Christianity will never be about buying the T-shirt, having the fish on your car or attending an epic moving worship service.

You may not recognize him but, thats the Machine gun Preacher, Sam Childers.

I'm not entire sure of the accuracy or the details but, I can tell you that with a Courage this "Bad Boy" showed to go and do what is right, even if its danger is obvious, I was inspired.

If he can do this, then whatever fear I have about telling people about my faith, seems a little less intimidating.

For me, Moses would be one of the biblical bad boys.

He killed a man in cold blood, and his anger kept him out of the promised land, yet he still led an entire people through the desert and saw God face to face without dying. When it was all over, God Himself buried Moses, so the newly formed nation of Israel could not make an idol of his resting place.

I'm not sure if this is referring to me or not. But I didn't mean to troll.
I just don't like when people use Jesus' rebellious side as an example of why they think they are allowed to be a bully. Because people make poor Jesus substitutes...

The people who rebelled for a greater cause are awesome. But to give them the same title that you give criminals and bullies and jerks seems a tad irresponsible. Because there are some out there who would exploit this misunderstanding for their own benefit. And it's the people in their lives who pay.

Martin Luther and Moses were the first who popped into my mind, and they have already been mentioned.

Then you have Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who rebelled against the king and refused to worship him, and subsequently got thrown into a giant furnace. There's also Daniel, who got thrown into a den of lions because he refused to stop praying to the Creator per the ruler's orders.

I added italics to those parts because those are the parts that blow my mind. Burning alive is one of the most painful ways to die, being eaten alive is one of my worst (irrational) fears. God saved both of them, but none of them knew whether or not God would intervene. They just stood that strongly for their King.

There seem to be quite a few "bad boys" of the Bible.

Yeah I think any biblical man or woman should be prepared to lay down his or her life for the Gospel if that is what it comes to. The bible is explicitly clear in Matthew 10

But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
