to all the Christmas haters, go ask Linus, he always got it right. Maby more of them should watch a Charlie Brown Christmas, the message gets more and more true every year, forget the commercialization and remember the real reason we celebrate
Hi! Here is a Grinch and I respect your view or belief.

I celebrate the Christmas season (not in the specific date only) because this is the opportunity to tell unbelievers indirectly about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind. You can ask anyone about this season and they will mention love, giving, celebrating, greeting someone, joyful time, time for rest, and Jesus Christ. Surely nobody will mention any pagan name or name of any other so called god.
That is backdoor preaching but, what about those names like Santa and "The spirit of X-mas"?
Here some children asked their presents to San Nicoles, to Jesus and whomever they think would give presents (risky thing)

I guess, some day, that loving season (because it is) could be prolonged a full year and a full life. But I still being a Grinch because it is a tradition not based to the New Testament teaching.

I participate to celebrate Christmas just to remind everybody that at one time Jesus Christ came into this world for the salvation of mankind.Forget the exact date, forget the pagan traditions, forget the time in season, forget the gift-giving. I consider this season is a time to bring Jesus Christ to the mind of all men in this world. I consider this an opportunity for Christian evangelism. What do you think will happen if Christmas celebration will be ban on earth? So get more lights, more Christmas trees, more Christmas decor and play more Christmas songs with the love of God!
I don't know how to teach THAT in a messy enviroment...

My mother insist on me to help her set her X-mas tree and I said: NO! (although I have been kind telling her MY REASONs NOT TO and fixing some lights she had broken) but I said: I will not put them on YOUR TREE... (she got it!)

I banned myself from celebrating x-mas few years ago. I eat things they prepared on these days, but I tell them: I'm not celebrating what it is yours (if I see chance, I say why).

Jesus, and God, our Father could be taught and reminded many days during years. THEY (God and Jesus) can be read and spoken of at any meal and, particularly, if we celebrate Christ the way He said.

CHRISTMASS, IS A HEATHEN HOLIDAY, IT WAS INVENTED BY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
No, Christmas was not invented by the Catholic church. Technically the Catholic church probably cannot be said to exist until a later date in history. We must wait for the split that defined the Greek Orthodox and western (Catholic) traditions. December 25th was the feast date of the birth of Sol Invictus (the Unconquered Sun). There is even a mosaic portraying Christ as Sol, or Apollo, pulling his sun chariot across the sky, that is beneath the Vatican. This is a case of syncretic religion where growing numbers of people probably came to identify Sol Invictus as Christ and so it may have been totally natural, in that situation, for many Christians to come to identify the 25th as Christ's birthday. Gift giving was simply part the of Roman tradition for this festival, so it begins to look as though as more and more celebrants became Christian they simply continued in the same tradition but adopted a new name for the old celebration. They came to call it Christmas instead of Sol Invictus.

Interesting said:
A CULT, CHRSIT WAS NOT BORN IN DECEMBER, IF GOD WANTED US TO KNOW HIS BIRTH DATE, HE WOULD HAVE TOLD US IN THE BIBLE
The first letters and books of the New Testament were written at a time that members of Jesus' family were still living. Had any of those writers been interested in a true biographical and historical account of Jesus' life that information was still available at that time. The fact is none of the writers whom we've incorporated into the New Testament seem to have been at all interested in that kind of information. They are more interested in promoting the supernatural aspects surrounding, not Jesus the man, but Christ the god. It seems a true biographical account wasn't part of their agenda.

How about we should celebrate the days He tells us to?

Lev 23:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Lev 23:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
Lev 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
Lev 23:4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

and continue reading the chapter.

Christmas evolves from Pagan rituals that have nothing to do with Jesus. The merger should be enough for any Christian to realize it is not scriptural. Yes we are in awe in the birth of Jesus, his life, and more importantly, his death and what it represents. Jesus is not a helpless little baby in a manger, he is our mighty king. Christians should not contribute to this materialistic merchandising day that takes away the awe of our savior. Even when you see nativity scenes and see the three wise men, it is false. According to the scriptures, the wise men came later. The truth in the scriptures is eroded every time some falsehood is held up as truth.

I think I would be truthful, most in US do celebrate Christmas, I'm guessing but I would have to save at least 95%. I think most do it because of social and family tradition. It is very hard to break these. I know when I stopped my family threw a huge fit. I had to really get close to the Lord because of course when you start on the way to Truth the devil is in a rage. I think that even today when you tell them the truth about the day they get angry, they don't believe, or they don't care.

The truth sets us free and he is Truth and he hates all lies. So, it was quite a simple decision for me to let it go. But I will be honest it took me through quite a trial of faith.

We observe that day because its the day God began to dwell with man on earth: the conception. December the 25th . It would be 9 months later if im not mistaken., that Christ would be born. The date can be figured out to its exact date. because of, Mary, Elizabeth and Zacharias, an other things in Luke.

We were jealous of the pagans' traditions; so we stole it.

Christians do not know the day Jesus was born and even the year of His birth is debated. So why is a tradition to celebrate on Dec. 25th?

Some claim the Romans had a week long celebration called "Saturnalia". Saturnalia was celebrated from December 17th thru the 25th. As Christianity became accepted Saturnalia was supplanted as the birthday celebration of Christ.

As Christianity spread through out pagan Germanic people it also supplanted "Yule" or Yuletide" (Yule time), another week long celebration that included the Winter solstice. The pagan god Odin role in Yule has been theorized. Odin was depicted as an old man with a long white beard who rode a grey horse at night. This may be the origins of Santa Klaus and his reindeer.

Maybe you could tell me a bit more? It's a lie that at the time the first letters and books of the New Testament were written members of Jesus' family were still alive? You say that's a lie? What are you talking about? Be specific?

I'm not sure what part you mean. The part where people assumed sol invectus was Jesus. No matter how many times I see Spock, you are not him. He is a figment of someone imagination brought to character.

The birth date of our savior is irrelevant...unimportant. What's important is that we celebrate the birth of our savior. That we be with God and delivered from the evil one. That we be good and not evil people. That we celebrate the lord's giving of his life that we may not be spiritually dead (evil) without Jesus, and good people with the Father. This is LOVE! Praise God and praise the Lord! :)

Muslims should have bigger fish to fry than a Christmas smelt. They should be wondering how it is that God has a Son in the first place.
These aren't honest questions of theirs but questions designed to trip you up over the trivia.

Last year i broke tradition.

This year i have been humbled so much.

Listening to the children singing praise to God through nativity and such things.

A day of love and praise to Heavenly Father and Yahshua the Messiah is not made void by the number of the day, it is what is in our Heart that day and every day.

My son is talking wonderful things about GOD of late, asking me questions and so on.

I don't want to delude my children with the phantom red and white feature that many excite their children with this time of year.

All the hype about giving presents, can not cover the fact that we have been given the Greatest gift by our Heavenly Father, His Son the Messiah Yahshua.

I kinda see why the phantom red and white guy came in to the matter... to try and distract people, but it can not succeed.

Remember it is what is in your heart that counts.
