US drone strike kills 13 in Yemen wedding convoy

Missiles fired by a U.S. drone slammed into a convoy of vehicles traveling to a wedding party in central Yemen on Thursday, killing at least 13 people, Yemeni security officials said.
The officials said the attack took place in the city of Radda, the capital of Bayda province, and left charred bodies and burnt out cars on the road. The city, a stronghold of al Qaeda militants, witnessed deadly clashes early last year between armed tribesmen backed by the military and al Qaeda gunmen in an attempt to drive them out of the city.
There were no immediate details on who was killed in the strike, and there were conflicting reports about whether there were militants traveling with the wedding convoy.
A military official said initial information indicated the drone mistook the wedding party for an al Qaeda convoy. He said tribesmen known to the villagers were among the dead.
One of the three security officials, however, said al Qaeda militants were suspected to have been traveling with the wedding convoy.

May I ask why all the news articles you post are against the west, but nothing about islamic aggression? None of this changes the fact that the majority (if not all) news reports you post are in favor of the islamic agenda or criticizing those who stand against islam on a Christian site. As for as the name calling goes as a muslim you are an antichrist. Your thread is part of a clear pattern of behavior: You demonize the U.S. while completely ignoring the sweeping world-wide problem of Islamic violence, terrorism, and aggression against Christians in Islamic nations and everyone else outside of them. In the rare instance that you do talk about the latter you, of course, blame the U.S. for it.

It's disingenuous and that's why doulos has a problem with it. If you don't want to be criticized for doing this, then change what you are doing and become more truthful and balanced in what you post.

If we can use old fashioned leg work to track down Osama and kill him in a raid we can do that for these other terrorist leaders. They stay near their families and other civilians who are innocent and they should not have to pay the price for being around these people. If a terrorist was in the USA and another country launched a missile and killed him in a public sphere and scores of people were maimed or killed we would be livid. It's not right. Is it any wonder there are so many casualties amongst the civilians when islamic jihadist hide behind women and children? Do you honestly expect the secular controlled governments to just forget about those jihadists just because they hide among civilians? Getting the UN involved would only make itworse, and beyond that the UN doesn't have much power to even enforce.

We shouldn't cede sovereignty to international government.
