Never mind that many of you rarely look at PAST HISTORY to see WHAT HAS ALREADY BEEN FULFILLED. Read Josephus and see if you can really remain a dispensationalist. See how much of his history of the Jewish wars sounds an awful lot alike what Revelation was speaking of.

Here is the thing Sarah. No Dispensationalist I know of is afraid to study and examine Past History.

We just allow the Scriptures to teach us its Doctrine.

Now are there things in the Scriptures which have already been fulfilled? Absolutely, there definitely are things that have been fulfilled already in the Scriptures.

But there are also many things which still have not been fulfilled in the Scriptures. And two of those things is the Rapture of the Body of Christ and the time of Jacob's trouble.

And many if not most of the things in Revelation have not been fulfilled yet.

The man of sin, the son of perdition was not around in the apostle John's time. The mark of the beast was not around in the 1st century. The plagues, vials, and other judgments in Revelation also did not take place in the first century. It is rather evident Sarah, that everything from Revelation 4 and on has not been fulfilled yet.

I do understand though that every verse in the Scripture has a Historical application. Just as it has a Spiritual/ Devotional application, and a Doctrinal application.

if it hasnt been fulfilled yet...how it is you are holding the completed Revelation in your hand, dear:confused:

Revelation 4
The Throne in Heaven

1After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things."

2Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One sitting on the throne. 3And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance.

.....

thats John, btw - not you being told to Come up here:rolleyes:

meanwhile, over at the Rapture Ready Ranch:

Proof #5: A door open in heaven (Revelation 4:1)

The door in heaven is opened to let John into heaven. We believe John's call into heaven is prophetic of the church being caught up at the rapture (see proof #6). In Revelation 19:11, heaven is opened again, this time to let the armies which are already in heaven out. This is the Church, which has been raptured at a previous time, following Jesus out of heaven at the second coming. - Kent Crockett

It is pre-recorded History. You do understand that don't you Zone? Even though many, if not all of the things in Revelation have not happened yet, it is still pre-recorded History. Bible Prophecy is pre-recorded History. How do I know that? Well simple. Because I know that what is prophesied in the Holy Bible will come to pass.

The Rapture has NOT happened yet. But it will in the near future.

The time of Jacob's trouble has NOT happened yet. But it will take place sometime after the pre-trib. Rapture of the Body of Christ.

Some simple facts on the Pretribulation rapture

This is a response to a challange by a postribulationist for pretribulationists to prove the pretribulation rapture. Comparing scripture with scripture clearly shows that the church (which is not Israel) will not go through the tribulation.

how about math:confused:

if a period of 7 years is referred to as a week, and 70 weeks are determined for something, how long is 490 years:)

490 years in the Prophetic timeline and Prophecy given to Daniel is 70 weeks of years.

God gave the exact time of the appearance of "the Messiah the Prince". On that day, Jesus Christ presented himself in Jerusalem. But, as was predicted when Gabriel told Daniel that this Messiah would be "cut off", Jesus was rejected and killed by Crucifixion,

This prophetic passage is incomparable. No other religion, no other religious book, no other prophet and no other God has ever provided such undeniable proof of His existence and demonstration of His omniscience!

This message, if understood, will build your faith in our King James Bible and give you confidence and courage to serve God with all that you are, all that you have and all opportunity God provides.

did John actually LITERALLY:rolleyes: get told Come up here, while he was LITERALLY on the Island of Patmos, and did he then LITERALLY write what he was shown, just yes or no.

right. he was of Jacob...but he gets:
DOOR NUMBER ONE - the spiritual blessings, promises, kingdom, not DOOR NUMBER TWO - the physical kingdom, blessing and whatnot.

see, any jews who show up in scripture or in the world AS CHRISTIANS - just PRESTO, you all shuffle them through DOOR NUMBER ONE and say, well HEY - dats the church age gap mystery non-jewish jews. those are SPIRITUAL NON-ISRAEL ISRAEL.

loodikrus.

:) sure.
the facts on it are: invention by antisemites who hated the idea of the Jewish nation entering the Christian church.

John was in the third Heaven in the spirit (Rev. 4:2).

And he literally wrote down what he was given by revelation and by inspiration of the Holy Ghost (2 Pet. 1:21).

dats what they all say.

The King James Bible teaches a Pre-Trib. Rapture. Again Zone, you continue to fail to rightly divide between Israel and the Church. We (the Church) are not Israel. The time of Jacob's trouble is for Israel (Jeremiah 30). NOT THE CHURCH.

No it has not. It won't happen until the Church is removed from off of the Earth ( 2 Thess. 2:7).

He is a type of the Church. There are shadows and types all throughout the Holy Bible.

Enoch in the Old Testament (Gen. 4-5) is a TYPE of the Church that gets raptured and removed from off of the Earth before God's Judgment is poured out upon the Earth.

Noah is a TYPE of the Jew who is saved through the Tribulation (time of Jacob's trouble) through the ark.

:) sure.
the facts on it are: invention by antisemites who hated the idea of the Jewish nation entering the Christian church.

Wrong Zone. That is a lie.

We Dispensationalists who believe the King James Holy Bible love the Jewish people and understand that God still has a plan and a future for Israel.

It is you Amillennialists who cannot stand the thought of the Jews having dominion over the Gentiles in the future Millennial Kingdom.

The spirit that is against Dispensational truth is anti-semitic and Satanic.

This is a video explaining that there is a anti-semitic, Satanic spirit that underlies the attack on dispensational theology. It is an attempt to ignore the reality that God is not done with Israel and unbelieving Jews are still beloved by God.
Today, an unbelieving Jews must receive the Gospel of grace to be saved.
He then becomes a Christian if he believes.
When the Church is removed, the dispensation returns to a Jewish one, and God will complete the unconditional promises made to Abraham and David.
The Millennium will be a Jewish Kingdom, led by a Jewish King, with Headquarters in the Jewish State, with a Temple that all Gentiles will be forced to come to and worship under the threat of severe discipline.
These are dispensational truths that are denied by those who simply cannot stand that the Jew is a special People, because God chose them.

Literal Sacrifices In The Millennium

by Thomas Ice

One of the most commonly presented problems by critics of premillennial literal interpretation is found in association with Ezekiel' s temple vision (Ezekiel 40- 48). These rivals argue that Ezekiel 43:13, 27; 45:15, 17, 20 refers to the sacrifices in a would be future Temple as literally making atonement. This is true!

The critics believe this to be a blasphemous contradiction to the finished work of Christ as presented in Hebrews 10. In fact, the "Bible Answer Man"- Hank Hanegraaff- called me heretical on one of his daily call-in programs because I teach that God will restore literal sacrifices in a millennial Temple.[1]

Are these " problems" basis enough to abandon a literal interpretation of the millennial Temple, sacrifices, and our view of future prophetic events all together, as our opponents would desire? What is it about a literal interpretation of millennial sacrifices that one would call another heretical for taking the Bible at face value? I don't think so.

- from the incredibly deluded RAPTURE READY crowd

...

epic fail.

The purpose for a Temple throughout Scripture has been to establish a location upon earth - which is under the curse of sin- for the presence of God that reveals through its ritual God' s great holiness.

God' s plan for Israel, His earthly people, includes a relation to them through a Temple.

Currently the church is God' s spiritual Temple made of living stones (1 Corinthians 3:16-17; Ephesians 2:19-22), until the rapture.

The millennium will return history to a focus upon Israel and will continue to be a time in which sin will be present upon the earth.

Thus, God will include a new Temple, a new priesthood, a new Law, etc., at this future time because He will be present in Israel and still desires to teach that holiness is required to approach Him.

This is contrasted with the fact that no Temple will exist in eternity (Revelation 21:22) because God and the Lamb are its temple and there will be no sin in heaven, thus no need for Temple ritual.

- Thomas Ice, UBER-DISPENSATIONALIST

and THAT is what you want for JEWS, eh.

you are GONE...and they are slaughtered; then the earth is filled with ANIMAL BLOOD.

this is thoroughly demonic.

Oh, goodness, this thread has had some activity, looks a bit negative. I will have to go ove all the posts and then come back. Last night there were only four and so I was going to address the one today. I have some opinions about dispensationalists from two perspectives. So, be back in a bit, try to be nice & try to be honest or earnest seems like a better word, earnestly deal with others.

The dispensational distinction is true, but it cannot be extended further than its natural meaning. Dispensationalists are heretics because they extend the idea of the dispensation into an unbiblical territory, so much so that they actually deny the dispensation of Christ by continuing to maintain that ancestry remains the most important feature of God's dealings with men. This is clearly untrue. Dispensationalists need to perceive the correct modalities, so they do not take the dispensational distinction further than is warranted.

Modus (obsolete) "The arrangement of, or mode of expressing, the terms of a contract or conveyance."

Jesus said, the "Scriptures testify about me." Jhn 5:39 Jesus preached only what he found in the OT. Even the OT contract was always based on faith. Psa 14:1. Psa 53:1. and on grace Psa 100:5 Psa 103:17.

This shows us that the OT and NT are part of the same application but with evolving modal differentiation. The importance faith and its application, and the prioritization of the commandments of the law in terms of the most spiritual being the most important, are the same. Only the means of reconciliation to God have changed. Jesus Christ is the reconciliation rather than the "works of the law." The dispensation has changed but the modalities evolve.

One cannot simply pretend that dispensational distinctions are what matter.

The OT is like a Modal Window in a GUI application. It is part of the application, but the application cannot work until we have examined, understood, and filled in the dialogue presented by the OT GUI Window. The OT teaches us about faith, sin, etc. If we abandon the OT, as some churches do, we abandon Christ.

Some really great points for dialogue expessed on the first page. This post caught my attention and my thought was testate, needs a testator. The will of God has revealed something that was never revealed, could never be revealed, until after the death of the testator, . That is why we read terms like "kept hid in God" or "to fulfil the word of God" and "since the foundation" or "before the world began". As to your last sentence, to deny Christ is to deny God's testimony, His complete testimony.

Going to try skimming page 2 now, having a late lunch, then have to go take care of some business for a few hours. Looks like I will have to make more time tonight. Try to keep any of your posts to me at a minimum, pls, your posts are like hearding cats and I have just about given up on discourse with you. Remember I am just on a phone also, so it is a lot harder to whip out replies. I over look a lot of posts or have a hard time posting because of my signal, just saying.

Zechariah 14:1,4,5 1a - Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, . . .4 - And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 5 - And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah" and the LORD my God shall come, all the saints with thee.

Is the above the same as "meet the Lord in the air"?

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Also notice - when "his feet shall stand upon the mount of Olives"; his saints were with him. . . Ummmm

1 Thess. 3:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

Jude 1:14,15 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon all, . . . . .

How were the "saints" with him? Is the great tribulation mentioned in Matt. 24:21 - God's wrath upon children of disobedience?

I think I worked out that whoever posts the most videos in a thread wins the argument.
Smiling.

I have looked at page two and find nothing of worth, worth discussing that is. I do not open links or watch vids posted on discussion boards. Plus, I'm really not interested in people arguing points using other peoples opinions. Using definitions is one thing, but posting so and so's paper or material, well, I will just stop here.

but - you are using dispnesationalist theologians opinions.

do you know who William Edwy Vine was:)

Note: A “dispensation” is not a period or epoch (a common, but erroneous, use of the word), but a mode of dealing, an arrangement, or administration of affairs. Cf. oikonomos, “a steward,” and oikonomeô, “to be a steward.” (174)

Have you read Josephus? Yes or no? Is this true or not?

REVELATION 13 (Part 5: Ten Fulfilled Prophecies Regarding the Beast)

Adam Maarschalk: October 22 & 29, 2009Scripture text for this study: Revelation 13:1-18
By way of reviewing the previous four posts, the following is a chart indicating what was foretold regarding “the beast from the sea” in Revelation 13 and 17, and how these things were true of Nero and the empire he led, represented, and personified. In some cases it would be possible for another entity aside from Nero to fulfill one of these prophecies (being identified with “666,” for example), but the fact that each one of these prophecies fits Nero and first-century Rome makes for a very compelling case that the fulfillment of Revelation 13 is past and not future. Keep in mind, as we noted in Part 1 of this Revelation 13 series, that the beast is seen in both the singular and the general sense (i.e. as an individual, and at the same time as an empire).

10 PROPHECIES REGARDING THE BEAST FROM THE SEA

FULFILLMENT BY NERO/THE ROMAN EMPIRE

1. The beast was to have ten horns, which would carry it, give to it their own power and authority, persecute the saints, and finally turn on the “great prostitute” to the point of burning her with fire (Rev. 13:1; 17:3, 7, 12-14, 16-17).

The Roman Empire contained 10 Senatorial Provinces, and the governors of each one granted their authority to Rome and also exercised authority on its behalf (See Part 1). This included aiding in Nero’s persecution of the saints, and carrying out the Roman war against Israel which resulted in the burning of Jerusalem in 70 AD.

2. The beast had seven heads. To John it was explained that the seven heads represented not only the “seven mountains on which the woman is seated,” but also “seven kings, five of whom have fallen, one is [in John’s day], the other has not yet come, and when he does come he must remain only a little while” (Rev. 13:1; 17:3, 7, 9-10).

Rome is the one city in history famous for its seven mountains, and first-century Rome celebrated the feast of the “seven-hilled city.” According to Josephus, Dio Cassius, Suetonius, and other historians, the first five Roman emperors (or “kings”; cf. John 19:15) were [1] Julius Caesar [2] Augustus [3] Tiberius [4] Caligula, and [5] Claudius. The sixth was Nero (54-68 AD), and the next emperor was Galba, who reigned for only six months before he was murdered (Again see Part 1).

3. The beast was to have a mouth like a lion (Rev. 13:2).

The apostle Paul, referring to his trial before Nero, testified that he was “rescued from the lion’s mouth” (II Timothy 4:16-17).

4. One of the beast’s heads was to receive a mortal wound, but the beast’s wound would be healed, causing the whole earth to marvel “as they followed the beast” (Rev. 13:3, 12).

Nero committed suicide in June 68 AD, bringing an end to the blood line that had sustained Rome since it had become an empire. His death was followed by chaos and civil war, causing the empire to nearly collapse, and Josephus testified that “every part of the habitable earth” under the Romans “was in an unsettled and tottering condition” (Wars 7.4.2). The next three emperors (Galba, Otho, and Vitellius) each reigned considerably less than a year, each tried desperately to resurrect Nero’s image and authority, and it was only when Vespasian came to power in December 69 AD that Rome stabilized and became more powerful than ever (SeePart 2 and Part 3).

5. The “whole earth” would worship the beast, extolling it as incomparable and overwhelmingly powerful to any who would dare to oppose it. Only those whose names were “written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that was slain” would not worship the beast (Rev. 13:4, 8; 17:8).

See Part 2 for the very pronounced and extravagant worship demanded by, and received by, Nero during and after his reign. This included offering sacrifices to Nero’s spirit in the public square even after his death. One statue of Nero stood more than 110 feet high, and coins and other inscriptions hailed him as “Almighty God” and “Savior.” He was hailed as Apollo, Hercules, “the only one from the beginning of time,” and even rulers from other lands had to publicly worship both Nero and his images which were set up on lofty platforms. As for the reference to “the whole earth,” this can either be understood as referring to the Roman Empire (cf. Luke 2:1), or to Israel (In our study of Revelation so far, we have suggested that many of the references to “the earth” in the book of Revelation are not meant to be taken as worldwide in scope, but as dealing instead with the land of Israel/Palestine. In a 3-part study on this subjectbeginning with this post, I have outlined nearly 20 instances where this appears to be the case.)

6. The beast was to be given authority “to make war on the saints and to conquer them” for a period of 42 months. The scope of his authority would be “over every tribe and people and language and nation” (Rev. 13:5-7).

It’s a historical fact that Nero began to persecute the Christians throughout the Roman Empire in mid-November 64 AD. This intense persecution only ended when Nero committed suicide in June 68 AD. Thus he made war on the saints for a period of exactly 42 months. See Part 1.

7. The saints were called to endure and remain faithful in light of the fact that the beast who so often wielded the sword would himself be killed by the sword (Rev. 13:10, 14).

In June 68 AD Nero ended his life by thrusting his sword through his own throat, with the help of his personal secretary, Epaphroditus, in part because he realized that his popularity had waned and also because of an attempted coup (See Part 1). Nero lived by the sword, and died by the sword. Tertullian [145-220 AD] credited “Nero’s cruel sword” as providing the martyr’s blood as seed for the church. At one point he urged his readers to “consult your histories; you will find there that Nero was the first who assailed with the imperial sword the Christian sect.”

8. The beast from the sea would be given much support from a second beast (“from the earth”), which would compel “the earth and its inhabitants” to worship the first beast. An image of the first beast would be given breath, so that it might “even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain” (Rev. 13:11-15).

Paul Kroll (1999), of Grace Communion International, notes that early church writers Justin Martyr and Irenaeus (among others) wrote of Simon Magus (mentioned in Acts 8:9-24) being able to bring statues to life in the first century AD. Kroll remarks that it was common during this era for statues to be deemed able to speak and perform miracles. The Roman historian Dio Cassius records in detail how a foreign king, Tiridates, literally and publicly worshipped Nero and his images in one particular conference. A number of ancient and modern historians insist that those who refused to do so, both during and after Nero’s reign, were executed.

David Chilton (quoting from Austin Farrer’s 1964 work) points out that these executions were carried out not only by Roman authorities, but also by Jewish authorities aligned with Rome: “[The Jewish leaders] organized economic boycotts against those who refused to submit to [Nero] Caesar as Lord, the leaders of the synagogues ‘forbidding all dealings with the excommunicated,’ and going as far as to put them to death” (See Part 3).

Much more is written on this in Part 2 (See especially View #3, as the reference to “the earth” here again likely indicates that Israel was in view).

C. Marvin Pate and Calvin B. Haines Jr. (1995) record that those who worshipped Nero “received a certificate or mark of approval – charagma, the same word used in Revelation 13:16.” Richard Anthony (2009) adds these details: “All those under the jurisdiction of Rome were required by law to publicly proclaim their allegiance to Caesar by burning a pinch of incense and declaring, ‘Caesar is Lord’. Upon compliance with this law, the people were given a papyrus document called a ‘libellus’, which they were required to present when either stopped by the Roman police or attempting to engage in commerce in the Roman marketplace, increasing the difficulty of ‘buying or selling’ without this mark (emphasis added).” See Part 3.

In Hebrew gematria, which John’s readers would have been familiar with (given the vast number of Hebrew references in Revelation), Nero’s name (NRWN QSR) = 666. The values of these seven Hebrew letters are 50, 200, 6, 50, 100, 60, and 200, respectively, adding up to 666. John’s code would have utilized the Hebrew language rather than Greek or Latin in order to avoid detection from Roman authorities, being that he had been exiled to Patmos (a Roman prison island) by Rome.

Nero’s name also adds up to “616,” which some early manuscripts refer to as the number of the beast because of a later transliteration into Latin. In this case “Nero Caesar” = 616 in Latin just as “Neron Caesar” = 666 in Hebrew, so Nero’s identity is confirmed by both renderings. See Part 3.
