Hello all,

What are your New Year Resolutions going into the New Year? How can we give more of ourselves to the Lord in 2014?

Besides resolutions, how do you want to serve the Lord this upcoming year?

I think the closest thing I had to a resolution was putting away a dollar a week per week for the year. Like saving $1 then first week, $2 the second week and on and on and on until $52 the last week. I think it would total like $1300 or so. Not sure where I saw the idea but you end up with a nice little chunk of change for a vacation or something at the end of it.

I am not one to make resolutions either, but I have the prayer to know God fully as God is fully

Have you ever tried doing a prayer journal? It's the prefect time to start one since its the beginning of a new year. Write down each day a prayer to God in a journal, anything you want to write to Him about. You can gives thanks, you can share personal experiences, you can ask for help, talk about your problems, etc. This is a good way to build up your relationship with Him.

Thats an AWESOME Idea, I am a new christian, and I feel like my prayer life is kinda awkward still, but I feel like writing down prayers would help me alot! thank you!

My resolution (very rarely make any) is to be more social. I'm pretty good about being there for people, but I'm horrible about letting people in. I need to allow God to tear down the walls of ice I've been hiding behind for a couple of years now. They make me seem arrogant and aloof to people at times. If they only knew.

HEY WAIT A SECOND....THAT WAS MY RESOLUTION! *copycat* :p

nah,srsly...I've never been big on the whole resolution thingy. Maybe because every single day I feel like I have to resolve in my heart to do various things,or whatever.

Like I mentioned in the streams thread yesterday,I am basically "resolving" or determining to be happy & just stop with all the religious garbage that I have allowed myself to wallow in over the years. This includes negativity & depression. It is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too easy for me to bask in the "woe is me-ness" of my life. Heck sometimes I can even get like that when seeing other's & their suffering. (if that makes any sense)

Does this mean I am gonna be super-sugar-coated everything is perfect filled with glittery rainbows??? Ummm heck no! (never fear...this dark♥ will always burn black!) lol But yanno...I am really just getting to the point in my life & my walk with God & just wanting to live...smile more...make better connections & relationships with other's.

I want the people I care for deeply in my life to know how much I do. Not just in words or empty promises with good intentions, but with real action. Love in full effect. I don't have much to offer the world...but I do have me & who/what I am & what God has designed me to be...whatever that is.

Maybe there is no ONE specific thing. Maybe God just wants me to BE.
To be whatever it is He desires me to be at that given moment.
You cannot box Him in.
I have tried.
Believe me.
It never works!

Want a miserable walk in your Christian Faith?

Limit God.

For 2014 I think for me I want to overcome and completely beat what took so much out of me in 2013.

I want to grow strong spiritual and fulfil God's plan. At the same time I want to see my family reap the same grace.

...and find a guy with blond hair and blue eyes..ehehe :D

Here are my New Year's Resolution for 2014

1. Stop being so charming. That one will be very tough to do, because I am CBN (Charming-By-Nature).

2. Smile more, because I've been told my smile lights up a room (or maybe they said my smile "empties" a room). I can't remember which one, but yeah, I'll smile more!!!

3. Take Karate lessons, so I can defend myself against all the out-of-control women who charge after me every time I put on my Axe Body Spray!!!

4. Learn to speak Klingon (in case any Klingon women join CC and I can flirt with them!!!)

5. Learn to run away fast (in case I accidentally tell the Klingon women that I challenge them to a "Qab Jih Nagil").

6. Stop talking about Klingons so much so my "Trekkie Nerd" identity will remain secret.

I don't do very well with vague, year-long resolutions. I do better with smaller goals throughout the year to keep me focused.

However, I do still have some vague ones. :)

- Read more. I have a list of books I really want to read and just...haven't
- Live my life not waiting to be in a relationship. Live life to the fullest, as I am, for God
- Worry less about what may or may not happen
- Learn piano
