Now, we all -- just know -- that in ninety-something percent of all cases where someone has written 'LOL' --- the person really did not actually Laugh Out Loud --- right? ( "Yes, you know it's true..." :p )

Well -- here is your chance to come up with a replacement 'token' word such as will still serve to convey to others "that certain something" when you really did not Laugh Out Loud.

What combination of letters? What does it stand for?

Have fun! :D

one of my best pals lives on the east coast and we have a mutual ire for overplayed jargon, with LOL being at the top of that list. we chat from time to time and use some of our own shorthand.

we use "tsa" which i think is what you're talking about. it means "that's so amusing", or sometimes i'll say "cma" which is "consider me amused".

LOTI - laughing on the inside (for those moments when you are trying to hold it in, because it would be an inappropriate time/ place to laugh out loud)

Not only that type of thing, but something else quite different also comes to mind...

Sometimes, I see 'lol' used at the end of a statement that cannot possibly be funny in the slightest - not even to the author of the statement.

Know what I mean?
