Truly is it wrong to love
This is how I've looked at it.
Mind you, I may be wrong.
BEING and
DOING are two completely different things, no?
God loves the
SINNER but hates the
SIN, right?
So do you see where I am going with this?
The
ACT of
HOMOSEXUALITY, is wrong.
When you're asking if it's wrong to love, no, it's not BUT the Lord plainly states the act of laying with the same sex is wrong.
The reason why I say
BEING and
DOING are two completely different things is because people who don't agree with this or people who obviously have not read the bible always like to say, "oh, in the bible it says that being a homosexual is an abomination. So basically that means God hates homos."
No. Look here:
Leviticus 18:22 (NIV)
"Do no practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin."
Leviticus 20:13 (NIV)
"If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense."
Now, what that being said, when someone says, "oh, in the bible it says that being a homosexual is an abomination. So basically that means God hates homos," or when there are Christians out there disowning their children and what not or are telling people that God hates them because they
ARE homosexual, obviously, parts of the bible would then contradict themselves, no?
For example:
Mark 12:31
"The second is equally important. 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' No other commandment is greater than these."
God said everything as he said them for a reason. There were no mistakes. He mean't what he mean't. It's just the way that we interpret it that can get us in trouble.
Again, God loves the
SINNER but hates the
SIN.
So, yes, the act of homosexuality is wrong, but if you are homosexual, God still loves you.
All you have to do is ask for forgiveness and discontinue the act of homosexuality.
I hope that makes sense....
If I am wrong however or if someone finds something in what I said to be flawed, by all means, please correct me.
