Exactly, and Christ living in us, desires to do what we are told in the Word. i'm not perfect i don't follow the 10 commandments perfectly ever day , but i desire to, and ask God to help me because on my own i can do nothing.

In the English it says the first day but in the original Greek it says one of the Sabbaths. As the original Greek is more accurate, we have to discard the first day of the week.
The Jewish day which is what they would take their lead from starts as sundown and finished at sundown the next day. If Paul was speaking at midnight, unless they met at sundown (for a meal) it would mean on your reckoning that he had been speaking for at least 15 hours. I don't think so.
As I read it, one of the Sabbaths is the true rendering. As I said, the Jews worked six days a week. Their day off was the Sabbath (sundown Friday until Sundown Saturday) so they were working on Sunday so they could not have met on the Sunday.
OK, I read the OP and it is an oxymoron. There is NO TRUTH about the Sabbath in the post. And just for fun, from the Diaglott...

1Pe 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
So, faith has come to an end. It is done away with.
Jas 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
Now the Lord is done away with. And to reinforce that thought...
Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
So the Lord is done away, brought to an end. Me thinks your scholarship is lacking.

What scholar has ever translated this passage as anything other than Sunday (the 1st day of the week)?
None, because the passage is a phrase of speech.
You are twisting Scripture for your own doctrine.
Be more careful when studying. What you have attempted to do here is not spiritual, but very worldly.

Read the concordance for yourself rather than relying on scholars.
The word first(mia) In Acts 20:7 means one not first.
The word (prōton) means first.
The word day is not meant to be there.
The word week in Acts 20:7 is sabbaton which means sabbath.

The fact that the 4th commandment says "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy...Exodus 20:8-11 tells me that the weekly sabbath day is a specific day that was in effect before God gave Moses the ten commandments. You can't remember something that was never taught to you or brought to your attention in the first place. The same sabbath day that was kept in the OT is the same day that was kept in the NT and kept today by Christians who follow the example of Christ... and Jews. Luke 4:16 Jesus preached on the sabbath, it was his custom. Matthew 24:20 in his sermon on the mount of Olives Jesus tells us that we should pray that our flight not be in the winter, neither on the sabbath day. Here Jesus is talking about the last days. Luke 23:53-56 and 24:1 tells us that Jesus's diciples, the women, prepared spices on Friday (the preparation day), the women rested the next day, the sabbath day according to the commandment (4th commandment), and returned to the tomb on Sunday. God's Holy Day is Saturday not Sunday or whatever day man wants to keep holy. Jesus even kept the sabbath in the grave. Saturday was changed to Sunday as the sabbath by the Roman Catholic Church in honor of the pagan sun god. Research Constantine, catholic writings on the sabbath; they admit to changing it because they believe that the pope is above the word of God. Matthew 15:6-9, Mark 7:7-9 tells us that we should keep the commandments of God not the traditions of men. Revelation 12:17 and 14:12 describes God's people - the devil is very angry with this church, they keep the commandments of God have the testimony (spirit of prophecy Rev. 19:10) and faith of Jesus Christ. The word sabbaton σαββάτων is used as both Sabbath and week. The phrase τῇ μιᾷ τῶν σαββάτων means "the first day of the week".
Stop taking the words of the phrase out of context!
If I was to say "that was a piece of cake", and a person didn't know English well, and translated it online... they would be confused.
Phrases cannot be simplified, because they are a whole.

also, σαββάτων 'sabbaton' is not plural, it is singular; nor can it legitimately be translated as plural in the context, because τῶν 'of the' is singular as well.
Find a new Scripture to attack. This one is a fool's errand.

I actually have been taking a Saturday Sabbath for the past two weeks due to a personal conviction, but that doesn't change the Greek.

That has been an example to me, the extent to which one can be blinded and has spurred me on to discover where else I have been deceived. Hiding behind, and defending "church" doctrine will not square anyone with Messiah. Better cling to the Word of truth, follow Messiah, stop defending an organization founded by men. It's plainly worded, "..changing times.." , looks like that would not escape the deceived, but the stronghold in them is strong, they rather fit in with the world than follow Messiah.

Laodicea, I too accept the fourth commandment Sabbath, as remaining, but we have to realize that all it says is one day in a cycle of sevens---no more. Days of the week, at that time, did not have names, these were not in place until after the New Covenant was in effect. Now it is true that "week," as in "first day of the week," in Matthew 28:1 and seven other references is translated from Strong's #4521 or Sabbaton. But it is also true that "day," in this verse is in italics. This means it was added by the King James translators for smoother reading. So, what it is really saying is "first of the Sabbaths" (sabbaton is also plural). This, and seven other NT references, call the day that Jesus rose from the dead "the first of Sabbaths." Now, don't jump to conclusions, days of the week did not, at that time have names. All we know is that the Bible writers called the day on which Jesus rose from the dead "the first of Sabbaths." And "first," if you look it up means chief, or most important. So the question is, which name was given to that day, to the "first of the Sabbaths," the day on which Jesus rose from the dead. Was it Saturday or Sunday? Justin Martyr, early in the second century, referred to it as Sunday. And this is why, for over eighteen hundred years, the fourth commandment Sabbath, that "first day of the week" (i.e., first of Sabbaths) has been known as---Sunday, because it never was---Saturday. Scripture and eighteen hundred years of history prove this. So the bottom line is that text alone, in the fourth commandment, does not tell us whether the "first day of the week" (i.e., first of Sabbaths) came to be known as Saturday or Sunday. Neither do claims that Constantine, or the Popes, changed anything in regard to this. The Catholic church does makes this claim (and that it has the authority to do so) but this is totally unfounded.
