If I have to do a long math equation to figure out if he's too old for me, he's probably too old for me. :p

If he doesn't make this face when he meets my 22 year old son, he's probably old enough for me to date. :)

That stage is more important than age is so true. There's an age gap of 11 years between my parents, but when they met they were in the same stage of life. My dad wanted to live a free life prior to settling down, while my mom didn't have that need. So when my mom was 20 and my dad 31 they had both just reached the moment in life where they wanted to settle down.

Last summer they had their 25-years anniversary and as far as I know (or they have covered it very well) they never had a any significant issues due to the age gap. However, it's actually since just a couple years that my mom is starting to feel a bit bad about it sometimes. My dad is now planning his retirement, while my mom is still in the middle of her career trying to maintain her ambition. So I guess you could say that for the first time during their marriage they have reached a different stage in their lifes. But I'm convinced that when they get used to the idea that it will be fine :)

" 8*x/10 and 12*x/10 is fair game"

me 31 = range 24-37
You 23 = range 18-27
my low range 24 = range 19-28
But as you can see with the equation garbage it puts you just a hair outside the low end for me, but puts me way outside the upper age for you. and someone in my low range I am out of the high range for them.

thus equation is bunk.

Wise pilot say: Better to have excess fuel to dump than not enough fuel to make "thrusties". :) :)

If I'm that old and single, I think I would be content to live on the memories of my late wife and nothing more.

If not my late wife at least a woman I adored.

since you are all so good at giving insightful feedback, i'm eager to hear some feedback on a subject i've been giving much thought to of late.

in the last couple years i've noticed, every (seemingly appropriate) guy who's asked me out or shown interest is quite a bit younger than i am (5-10+ years). at first i thought it was a quirk, but now it's a definite trend. for example, the guy i've been out with twice recently just turned 32.

ladies: do you have any personal/relevant experience dating younger guys and how that's worked for you. obstacles? has anyone else noticed this as a trend?

guys: do you have any relevant experience, advice or suggestions? also, why are (seemingly) all the christian guys my age going out with younger women, instead of women their own age?

all: what kind of "age difference" obstacles and advantages have you experienced/observed?
These days, even evangelical activities seem to be so age compartmentalized.

But I think age differences matter far less than issues of spirituality, intellectual compatibility and so forth.

Also the question of stages of life is more important than strict age difference considerations. For example, a 24 year old is 8 years older than a 16 year old. Whereas a 49 year old being 8 years older than a 40 year old seems far less of a difference.

Haha what a great question! I've never necessarily dated, but for some reason, I crush on older guys. I could never seem to find myself with them whatsoever however. I'd like to be with someone with a primarily close age gap to me, but older guys always intrigue me haha (like Ryan Gosling, despite the fact that he is 16 years older).

I think that is typical of ladies your age.
