Well, I would ask why I'm the only one in the singles live chat; but that would just confirm that you all have more interesting lives than I do. =)

All of this feigned outrage at Obama for "not standing up to Putin" in Ukraine is driving me crazy. They keep claiming it makes America look weak.

These people don't understand what "standing up to Putin" implies.
It implies that we will actually go to war over Ukraine if he doesn't do what we want after we draw some invisible red line.

No one believes America should spend billions in money, and lose thousands of lives in war over Ukraine.
No one believes Ukraine is that important of a national interest.

Yet the same ones who believe we shouldn't go to war, are mad because apparently Obama isn't standing up to Putin by threatening to go to war if Putin doesn't do what we want!

It's like people are so anxious to make Obama look bad, that they'll choose an option (Going to war in Ukraine.) that they don't agree with.

If one doesn't think a war in Ukraine is in our national interest, then they can't get on Obama's case for "making us look weak".

Politics..politics...politics...good grief.

Well, just remember the 90s. When President Clinton bombed al Qaeda, his opponents complained that he was only doing it because he wanted to draw attention away from news reports about his relationship with Ms. Lewinsky.

Then, after 9/11, those same, former opponents of President Clinton complained that he had not bombed al Qaeda enough.

So according to them, he had both bombed al Qaeda too much, and he had not bombed them enough.

Such examples of foreign policy being caught up in domestic political maneuvering (and in Mr Clinton's case, very domestic) have the habit of repeating themselves over and over.

p.s. a girlfriend of mine is having a henna party this weekend. i always think of you when i hear/see the word "henna". : )
I am okay, really tired, I've been doing stuff since 8:00 am, today is by far one of the busiest I've had in a while. I just want to sit back and relax but I have a lot of stuff to do tonight, I have to clear our my entire room and move everything downstairs because we are re doing the roof and the workers get here at 7:00 am tomorrow.

Yes, I am starting my job soon, just waiting for confirmation from the head office then I will.

haha I looooove henna, are you going to the party? If you are you should totally get a cool design done so we can be henna twins!!!

I know.
The Republicans spent the 90s fighting everything but terrorism.
They investigated things that really didn't need investigating as far as national interest is concerned.
If they had spent that time cooperating fighting terror, 9-11 may not have happened..BUT..they had their attention on other things...

Then 911 happens and they're like..Oh wow..why didn't anyone mention this stuff?

...and how many separate investigations were there of Vince Foster's suicide?

...and what did 6 years of intrusive special prosecutor investigation throw up about Whitewater? Nothing.

It's called policy differences by subpoena.

PS: Up here it's been similar: for example, the supposedly highly rated Lester Pearson, when Prime Minister, organized a judicial investigation of the actions of Conservative ministers while they had served in a previous government answerable to an elected Parliament: this is a real constitutional no-no.

So true, I even heard coconut milk is very healthy for you!!

Tip: When cooking pasta or anything that calls for milk.......use coconut milk instead of regular milk. Gives it the most amazing flavor change

When and where will you be moving Monica??

i spent a number of years rather proud of the fact that i could pack and move in an evening. i always found it very freeing to know that i could travel "light" and not feel weighed down by a mass of things. i think that's a great feeling.

if i think about it now, my head would explode. last time i moved, it was a minor production. a caravan followed by a horse trailer and ridiculous coordination.

gone are the days of easy-breezy-relocation. enjoy it while it lasts. : )

Jullianna, I'm even worse!! I see words that are not there to begin with!!!! Yes, Hallucination!!! :D

Sometimes I wonder if I have a mild form of dyslexia or something similar. I often type words and think they don't look right, words like weird, gauge and others. I have to concentrate on some words more than others.

I have always done very well in math (even though I'm not a fan), but I couldn't always understand it the way it was being taught to me. I had to find my own way of processing it, particularly things like factoring.

I don't even know whether it matters at this stage of life. It's just something I've noticed and wonder about, especially since I have a relative who is dyslexic. From what I have read, it is believed to be hereditary.

Making cakes this weekend :)
I wish you were local.

I went to Sam's Club to see about ordering a cake for my piano recital in a couple of weeks. I looked through their books and saw nothing I wanted, since it was mostly birthdays. I asked about music notes and decorations. The lady, a very unhelpful mouth-breather says "we ain't got nothin' but what's in dem books!" ummm....okay, but then she said that if I bring in some designs, they can do it then, since she doesn't seem to know what a musical note looks like. sigh**
