I have a weird thing on my bucket list. I want to pull up to a stoplight in the summer, windows down and music blasting to the radio, and then a car pulls up beside me with their windows down and blasting the same song. We'll have a sort of bonding moment as we look at each other and goofily sing the song even louder to each other.

It would be nearly impossible if I were using my ipod, not so impossible if I have the radio on, but I just think that'd be so cool.

Sometimes when my daughter acts out, she get's all huffy and puffy and I have to try not to laugh. She says the funniest things without even knowing it. She's mad at the Kindle because she can't win her game. I said, you break that Kindle you buy it. She said, Well I don't have any money.
too funny. i have a hard time not laughing at kids tantrums. they amuse me so much.

sort of like when you see a little kitten without it's eyes open, hissing and growling.

my little brother (four years younger) used to throw the best tantrums. we're talking head banging, huffing and puffing, and limbs flailing. apparently, somebody told my mom to just ignore them and they'd stop.

what then ensued was him tantrum-ing all over the house, from room to room (to follow my mom). it was quite the production. i SO wish i had footage from that. i distinctly remember going from peels of laughter to utter amazement.

i think i witnessed the final tantrum. it was outside on a cement patio. he was banging his head, and all of a sudden, looked up, just a bit dazed.

considering my little brother is now my much bigger brother (and the father of four rather rambunctious kiddos), i rather enjoy teasing him about this.

lol..the way I handle when a small child throws a tantrum is to talk quietly to them in a mocking way. It almost would sound as though I am being nurturing or sweet when I do it,but it seems to work well with calming them down a bit...plus it amuses me.

Now if only I could react that way when adults throw a tantrum. Then again,I might get punched if I did that to someone my own age who could actually comprehend what I was doing to them. ;)

looking on the electric companies site showing when power should be restored to each area. noticing an odd trend. the More people affected the Longer the wait. 100 people will have their power back tonight or tomorrow. 4000 people in another area have to wait 5 days. that seems backwards.

I left my church after 14 months. Let's just say I will need a whole lot of healing after that messiness.

My friend from another church has taken me under her wing and has tried to get me involved in the young adult night services and has invited me to get to know other Christians my age. She is insistent on playing match maker and sees my singleness as her own personal mission to overcome (I've had to gently tell her that God should handle this one). This is all well and good, she's gone out of her way to help me feel at home and appreciated and loved, and I love her dearly for this, but I don't know... right now, there's nothing more I want than to sit with mature aged women who love God and to just simply talk, and will let me listen.

I just want to hear stories. I just want to take it in and look through someone else's eyes for a little while. I want to learn. I want to be encouraged by someone else's life stories, I want to appreciate someone else's second hand life lessons and take them on board.

I am saddened when I come across posts by women anywhere from 40 years - 80 years of age, and there seems to be this cry out that they feel useless, or undervalued, or that they are unable to give anything of good worth (Not every woman in this age bracket, but I've come across a few to notice a pattern happening). To those women, I wish you were close to me, I wish I could sit down and have coffee with you, I wish I could hear your stories and see your eyes light up when you tell them to me. There are people out there who need you, and I am one of them. You have so much to give.

Man, this past week, besides work and one Bible study on Wednesday night, I was very unsocial. By choice. I'm too fine being alone. I made hermit crabs seem like party animals.

I don't even know what being social feels like anymore. (And it doesn't bother me) o_o

That is a long time to be without power! Do you have a generator? Do you have heat? Ugh, hope it comes back on soon...

my brother managed to borrow a big kerosene heater. we ran it last night and it got so hot I almost started sweating. tonight we ran it enough to warm it up and turned it off. now its cold in here but the heater is hard to start and loud.
it also uses a lot of kerosene which is expensive.
past two days restaurants are either lined up or closed. some businesses have power but are still closed even though the ice has melted off. some traffic lights out while others work.
and worse, looking right out my window I can see street lights going on the street behind the houses in front of us. so that's a nice slap in the face.

I had a really cool time with a guy friend tonight, and for the first time in a long time it didn't feel awkward or forced, it just felt like two friends talking and sharing with no intention of flirting whatsoever. I just realized how rare is that. I liked it.
