Any time I feel let down, I stop and take a look at myself. I don't think that God has ever let me down, I know I have let Him down, though. Like biscuit said, pray. Ask God to help you see what is in your heart.

Praise Him. There is nothing more effective, I feel, in putting things in perspective than praising God.

When we feel like God has let us down, what is really happening? The reality is that God hasn't done what we expected him to do. But God is wiser than we are, and he sees the whole picture while we see only a moment. He can see that what he does to us is for our own good, to shape us and strengthen us.

We have to trust him.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.
1 Corinthians 1:25

Ask God to show you his plans for you, and have faith that even when it looks like things are going horribly wrong and your prayers are going unanswered - he is up there very busy molding and shaping you into a vessel that will be used for his kingdom.

Hi krs27,

Most Christians are 'lukewarm' or just plain old 'hypocrites' not taking Jesus seriously. The Lord knows your heart and how serious you are about Him. I read a Pew Forum Study on christianity and it stated that only 6% of christians conformed to the commandments of Jesus Christ. Christians leave the faith everyday because they think the Lord's works & miracles comes automatic by being a Christian. It is all about the "faith" in Jesus and your willingness to walk with Him. Once you are saved and walking with Him, you will receive the Holy Ghost and you have a full relationship with. Reading the Bible, praying and walking with Him, will no doubt get His attention. Read Revelation 3:20. You must love Jesus with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind ... and you need to tell Him that. He does take care of His faithful children. I hope I have been of help. There are also some excellent responses from other posters as well.

I usually pray until I change God's mind or He changes mine. It's more often the latter. I always pray for wisdom and that he shows me what to pray for. Jesus was clear about it not being about our will but His. If you take a look at some of the people who were in God's will you will see our suffering and pain will not be eliminated in this life but magnified because we choose Him over this world. Those who are living it up in this life should take a look at who they are serving. God offers us joy and peace in this life regardless of our circumstances because we are to be focussed on the one to come.

Or perhaps he's just trying to protect you from something that is unknown to you? I while ago, I felt as if God was indeed failing me and hurting me - now I see he was protecting me from settling for less than I deserved and I thank him for it.

Have you poured most your tears?

Haven´t you felt you gave your all to Him?

Just look at Jesus praying in that GARDEN He prayed, and get the idea on praying hard.

I personally don't feel like God has let me down, though I feel that about the World a lot.

However when the World lets you down I would suggest to remember that God promises to raise you up even from Death.

i look back at myself, and i never have found yet that i hadn't let God down first.
then somehow it doesn't seem like He's let me down anymore - in fact He's still given me more than i deserve!

Not pray more but harder...clench your teeth, squeeze tighter your hands together, squint hard your eyes...sigh, your not praying hard enough.

Just realize our perception of being 'let down' is not God's. Let's see, there is a pretty good prose reminder called ''FOOTPRINTS". Look it up, it should be online in 1000 places.

I have never felt let down by God..by life, and by people, yes..But never by God. To pray harder means pray MORE without ceasing. People and life and situations may let us down, but rest assured God never will. :)

when ever i feel down or sad or nothing going my way. I don't feel that God has let me down nor do i ever blame him. I don't understand how some people not all people could blame god for what happens in their lives. all you have do is pray and keep believing, remember if your prayer has not been answered yet its because he's still planning something for you.

Ask god to forgive you, God has his plans for our life's he will always know better than us on what we need, read your bible and pray and ask God for understanding on his direction in your life. But I can tell you right now his plan would be 1 million times better than what we could ever come up with.

Hey Krs27 :)

Thank you for your question, and an interesting one to. It's very hard when things tend to be out of our control that we naturally will turn and question God? or ask why God Almighty is not coming to our rescue?.

If i look back on my experiences in regards to waiting on God, please be encouraged that it is God's perfect and right timing that he does answer prayer. However, to wait on God and seek him for direction in the area your needing a break through may seem challenging, rest assured that he is at work. GOD of the Breakthrough will come through and answer your prayer!

Bless you. :)

Hi krs27
whenever I feel God has let me down I am quickly reminded that in times like this the Word says that we are to patiently wait upon the Lord with prayer and suffering, and that his thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways. then I am comforted. also remember that our will has to line up with his will. but fear not because Jesus is our divine intercessor and even if we are praying for the wrong thing Jesus converts our message to the father and asks for exactly what we need. A lot of times the answer to our prayers is no
