I was wondering when someone would post on this! Apparently, there was a lot of inside things going on, like dismantling the secondary radar, which takes a trained person to do it. It would have been very easy to have confiscated all the phones, and dumped them into the ocean. Or for that matter, dump them all in a bucket of water on the plane!
After all, who has ever had a cell phone survive a drowning? No one that I know!

My biggest question is whether this was terrorism, now that they know about the sabotage, and that it kept on flying after the transponder was turned off.

It's suspected that if it was terrorism the two with stolen passports would be prime suspects (their tickets paid by cash from a 3rd party), it would seem difficult for two men to confiscate phones from 239 people without someone getting off a call first.

Ah, but the two stolen passports were just some Iranian men trying to find lives/freedom in another country. Not legal in the least, but certainly not terrorism.

With current information my view is it was a crash then possibility of terrorism not the other way round. Possible failed hijacking? If it were terrorism there is usually some public statement or message to the world. I don't like it when they speculate about it on the news, I know their trying to give news but I want facts on the matter. Speculation only muddies the waters and brings confusion. That being said, I'm going to check the news site for updates.

Yeh But thats only by your view. Not actual fact. They still don't know for sure 100%. Once they do and they will find out for sure. we can't go by what you view. No offence! Many people speculating this or that has happened. But until hard evidence and hard facts. i'ts better for us to say that we not 100% sure yet. Some times we need to watch what we say and how we come across, otherwise it will only add to the confusion and chaos that's already there about this story.
But I hope they do find out everything what happened and that they will find out what went on to bring some peace of mind to the matter.

I read that decades back a propliner disappeared in Australia's Great Dividing Range and wasn't found until decades later. Of course, in those days there was less electronic buzzing going on.

I can testify about how easy it is to get out of cell phone range. When we travel through the Rocky Mountains every month or so to visit our grandchildren, I can be in a conversation with 3 bars of service, we go around a mountain, and it is 3 hours before I get service again.
Up at 20,000 to 30,000 feet above sea level, I doubt there would be any service, esp. in remote areas of the Indian or other ocean.
I just feel so grieved for the families of those who were on the plane, and I do pray for their comfort and that this investigation will bring some kind of closure for the families!

A 777 is pretty big. How anyone could hide a 777 at an airport big enough for it to land there is hard to understand.

The plane needs an airstrip not an airport. Once landed, the plane could be ''hidden'' by throwing a camouflage net made especially for a plane that size (or several nets). The strip could be covered with jungle debris distributed by a large vehicle.
The comment was also made as to how such a large plane could not be found in the ocean - one word Titanic. Look how large that ship was and how long it took to find it.
An airliner such as that is small compared to the ocean, and then you have to consider the depth of the ocean where it was lost.
