I really want to watch stranger than fiction right now

“Sometimes, when we lose ourselves in fear and despair, in routine and constancy, in hopelessness and tragedy, we can thank God for Bavarian sugar cookies. And, fortunately, when there aren’t any cookies, we can still find reassurance in a familiar hand on our skin, or a kind and loving gesture, or subtle encouragement, or a loving embrace, or an offer of comfort, not to mention hospital gurneys and nose plugs, an uneaten Danish, soft-spoken secrets, and Fender Stratocasters, and maybe the occasional piece of fiction. And we must remember that all these things, the nuances, the anomalies, the subtleties, which we assume only accessorize our days, are effective for a much larger and nobler cause. They are here to save our lives. I know the idea seems strange, but I also know that it just so happens to be true.” [TABLE="class: quote_source_table"]

Without food I'm like...nothing to my dog.

With food though, I'm like a celebrity...and he's the crazy fan that's always stalking me.

I'm not sure if I want to teach Sunday School next year. I don't hate it or anything, I just find it frustrating sometimes. I don't know. I canceled class this week because I have no voice and the other teacher is out of town.

That's not why I'm not sure if I want to teach, I guess I just need to change a few things. We usually have a Christmas party in our gym, but this year I'm going to ask that we have it in the Sunday School room. The parents usually come, but setting up that gym can be a little hard. I don't know what I'm going to do. Anyhow last year we had to delay the party and the other teacher had to do the pageant that day, so my Husband and I set up the gym. We are down there doing our usual singing and two older boys come down, so I tell them they can stay but I think their class party is upstairs, but come back when they can because we had a lot of cookies and stuff. Anyhow one of the Dad says out loud in front of my kids, where is this other party, real snarky and his wife said, that wasn't nice.

I've had some other comments about other things as well. Not from all the parents but just a couple. Well I have an idea, you never attend church you drop your kid off at Sunday School for an hour and pick them up after. Why don't you teach? Why don't you volunteer your time and do this. I told the other teacher that next year we're going to have a sign up sheet for the party so I know how many are coming. Also for other things. Two kids just show up whenever and you know I like when they come, but the usually go to a Catholic church so I'm never sure when they're coming or not. So sometimes I don't have enough of a craft I've planned for them to do. Last week that happened, but luckily two others didn't show. So I had enough.

I guess even with a usual showing of only 8 kids, two are mine, it get's a little frustrating. Sorry for the vent.

Odd. I just got a PM saying "OK" and that's it. I guess they wanted to let me know they respect my wishes?

Had an eye exam/appointment today for the first time in a few years. They dilated my eyes. I'm home now and my pupils are HUGE and it's creeping me out when I see myself in the mirror.

My whole entire house was painted peach when I moved in. The trim, walls, doors, everything. I still haven't finished painting over it all. Have fun house shopping!

This one has...you gotta see it to believe it - Lime green cabinet doors. Oh yes. You read that right. And RIGHT BESIDE IT is a niiiice dark red living room. You gotta wonder what they were thinkin' (or drinkin') when they did their interior...

To each their own, I guess.

I watched.Xanadu last night. I forgot how weird and stupid that movie is. Poor Gene Kelly he must have been really desperate for cash to have been in that movie.
