This is the Bundy Ranch owner who is a Christian hero to half a dozen conservatives on this forum.

He said he would continue holding a daily news conference; on Saturday, it drew one reporter and one photographer, so Mr. Bundy used the time to officiate at what was in effect a town meeting with supporters, discussing, in a long, loping discourse, the prevalence of abortion, the abuses of welfare and his views on race.

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

A spokesman for Mr. Paul, informed of Mr. Bundy’s remarks, said the senator was not available for immediate comment.

Sounds like he's a regular white guy who doesn't know hardly any black people besides the ghetto ones. That's what happens when you are in that situation, I'm telling ya. He's no special case.

I'm not racist in fact I've had black friends but he has a point a little bit. It's touchy bit I'm not sure in the full context it was racist at all he's just saying it gave them something to do and stability slavery isn't half bad and if were honest were all slaves to the government. Just remember whose name is on the money you spend your life working for. It isn't yours I promise:) lol

I grew up around blacks and they call each other the 'N' word all the time as well as porch monkeys.
It's only big city libs that get touchy about true folk talk.

I see a lot of truth in what he said.

As being from an older generation, the word negro was the only possibly offensive word, but being from that generation, it was what was used and it was not derogatory at all.

I think that many african americans ( see thats the accepted term now, like negro was in the 60's ) have sold their souls to the government. They were once owned privately, now owned publically.

90% of african americans vote for democrats, 95% for this president. While traditionally unemployment for young black males is the highest rate, its gotten worse under this liberal president.

60% of all african american pregnancies end in abortion in NYC.

All liberalism has accomplished for black americans is higher unemployment, more abortions ( google the same guys who broke the Acorn scandal, they did a sting on planned parenthood which proved abortion clinics target minorities ) and more feelings of oppression and victimhoods.

That's all this guy is saying. Slaves were once owned by private citizens. Now they are owned by the state and I totally agree.

The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.

Sorry about the funny text in the scriptures provided, they were copy pasted. Our mission here on earth was never to drive by people and look and make judgements, (not to mention on a whole race), it was to LOVE. This guy lost the plot.

Not every black person fits this racial stereotype. My mum is african and is hardworking and has been her whole life, with three degrees behind her and having single handedly supported her family when my dad was out of work does not fit this mould at all, before she had her own family she supported her parents and sisters. My dad who is white is a skill based worker who works with his hands and works when there is work available, when there isn't- my mum does it alone and praise Jesus, we are never in need of anything, He provides everything. I love both my parents equally and they are both amazing hard working people and good Christians, so this guy needs to open his eyes but really he needs to open his bible first.

a truly insightful analysis. and all along i thought racism, poverty, lousy schools, and the hopelessness of poverty had something to do with the the anerican problems of race and poverty. now that i understand that it's that darned government again i think we should all just buy ak47s and move to somalia wheres there's no government to ruin society.

Bundy Ranch: PRESS RELEASE

Friday, April 25, 2014

PRESS RELEASE
We are trading one form of slavery for another.

What I am saying is that all we Americans are trading one form of slavery for another. All of us are in some measure slaves of the federal government. Through their oppressive tactics of telling the ranchers how many cows they can have on their land, and making that number too low to support a ranch, the BLM has driven every rancher in Clark County off the land, except me. The IRS keeps the people of America in fear, and makes us all work about a third or a half of the year before we have earned enough to pay their taxes. This is nothing but slavery from January through May. The NSA spies on us and collects our private phone calls and emails. And the government dole which many people in America are on, and have been for much of their lives, is dehumanizing and degrading. It takes away incentive to work and self respect. Eventually a person on the dole becomes a ward of the government, because his only source of income is a dole from the government. Once the government has you in that position, you are its slave.

I am trying to keep Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream alive. He was praying for the day when he and his people would be free, and he could say I’m free, free at last, thank God I’m free at last! But all of us here America, no matter our race, are having our freedom eroded and destroyed by the federal government because of its heavy handed tactics. The BLM, the IRS, the NSA--all of the federal agencies are destroying our freedom. I am standing up against their bad and unconstitutional laws, just like Rosa Parks did when she refused to sit in the back of the bus. She started a revolution in America, the civil rights movement, which freed the black people from much of the oppression they were suffering. I'm saying Martin Luther King's dream was not that Rosa could take her rightful seat in the front of the bus, but his dream was that she could take any seat on the bus and I would be honored to sit beside her. I am doing the same thing Rosa Parks did--I am standing up against bad laws which dehumanize us and destroy our freedom. Just like the Minutemen at Lexington and Concord, we are saying no to an oppressive government which considers us to be slaves rather than free men.

I invite all people in America to join in our peaceful revolution to regain our freedom. That is how America was started, and we need to keep that tradition alive.

I don't see what he said was racist, other than using an outdated phrase.

He said people are being enslaved by welfare.

Could not agree more.

Just because he used the word negro and talked about blacks.....

that's the thing...we are so race sensitive today we cannot even raise a hint of suspicion that groups of people are being taken advantage of by the government without being called racist.

Ya gotta tell me, what is racist about saying blacks are being bought by welfare?

Blacks overwhelmingly vote for democrats, the party of welfare. Its willingly going back into bondage for a bare existence....sounds like slavery to me.

If you can show me one stat that shows the majority of blacks do not vote for democrats, then you can call me a racist. If not, its not me who is saying blacks have chosen the welfare slavery, the stats do.

Kinda sad really. All those people who died in the Civil War. All those people who died fighting for civil rights and equality under the law....only to be spit upon by accepting victimhood status, class envy politics and to willingly be put back under the thumb of masters, this time the government

sad

SonInMe,

You are racist. I don't vote for Democrats. You, Clive, and a couple of other folks are sorely mistaken based on watching media and the miniscule (relatively speaking) amount of black people around you.

This is exactly what I was talking about. This is the natural inclination of the white people who live fairly separated from black people. Look to your right. Look to your left. Ghetto black people! Look on the TV. Ghetto black people! All black people must be like this! They were better off in our fields! I bet that's your thought whenever some black person did something wrong to you as well. This is likely how you were brought up and MANY other white people so I don't blame you for it. But I do see a profound need for repentance.

How do I know all this stuff besides the fact that I am black? Because I see it ALL the time. I went to college with people who had hardly ever seen black people before. I'm also in the military with people who had maybe 2 black people in their high school.

Consider your ways.

That comment was racist, plain and simple. We need to stop making excuses for people and calling their actions and words for what they are. I don't know this guy so I would be misjudging if I said he hates blacks, but his comment IS racist and as Christians we need to call that out.

One of the leaders in my church ( a white guy mind you) who is a history major, was in the South a couple weeks ago, and he was telling us how he visited all these beatiful historical places, which sadly have an ugly past. He showed us a picture of a gorgeous mansion built by slaves, and the mansion had a spiked fence, to keep the slaves from escaping the mansion grounds. He didn't just randomly mentioned this btw, he was giving a study on freedom from sin and bondage to sin, and he kinda brought up the subject. Anyway, it's really to stupid to say that black people were better off picking cotton, living under slavery than they are now. It's really really stupid and insensitive.
