Are We Spiritually Deaf?

Some people suffer from a strange hearing disorder—they can hear sounds but can’t understand words. Or they can hear, but have problems acting upon what they hear. They have no trouble hearing a bird sing or hear a wrist watch tick, but words are as unintelligible as if they were a foreign language.

The source of the problem is not in the ears. It stems from an injury to the brain. Spiritually.

There is also a spiritual deafness that affects many people. Because of a sinful heart, those without faith in Christ can read the Bible and hear the teachings of God’s Word, but its spiritual message is foolishness to them (1 Corinthians 2:14).

That explains why some people can appreciate the Bible as literature, as reliable history, and as a source of high moral standards, but rather taking it all in as there main spiritual message and instruction to life. They don’t grasp the significance of what it says about Christ—His death on the cross for our sins, His resurrection, and His ministry of intercession for us in heaven today. These truths make no sense to them, it just becomes words of a past story and thats were it stops there.

As you read the Bible, do you “hear” what it says? If not, ask the Lord to open your understanding to what it says about Jesus. Put your trust in Him as your personal Savior and experience a spiritual birth. That’s the cure for spiritual deafness.

We cannot understand God's truth Until we know the Lord; It's when our heart is home to Him when We understand His Word.

The key to understanding the written Word of God, is knowing the Living Word in the first place. And how do we live for his word? Romans 10: 17 Explains it clear in the bible. its says: "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

So lets unblock our spiritual ear wax, and start to hear God word, only then you will hear the best things you will ever hear in your lfe.

Yes, deafness with the saints is because of the unscriptural sermon, the monologue. Very little is learned from listening to sermons. There are no sermons in the NT. There was dialogue teaching, not monologue teaching. Everyone had a chance to chime in. This provides for boots on the ground discourse and the breaking of the bread of life, His word. The duct taping of the mouths of the folks for 45 minutes on Sunday cannot be found in new covenant scripture.
 
With the heart man believes unto righteousness. Use your brain and use your ears all day long, but without the heart one can bear no fruit.

Luke 8:15:

"But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience."

Jeremiah 29:13:

"And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."

Proverbs 4:23:

"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."
 
Yes, I think we can be spiritually deaf. Is it selective hearing? like we sometimes say that our children would do at times. Is it a choice what we want to hear to understand? I call them spiritual ear wax. For us to have faith in God's word, is by learning to hear. We all want God to do miracles, and bless us in our lives as Christians right? God will bless us, because that his thing, that's all he wants to do. But what is the most important thing in our Christian life is? Not to take liberties thats for sure, as many people will do. Its to listen to God, and to learn what he wants from us. But how do we do that if we all want, want and more want from God?

God want us as his children to obey him right? But how? when we don't listen to what he wants us to do?
Some people would say that this is spiritual ignorance, or what i mentioned earlier, spiritual selective hearing, or its called spiritual deafness as I like to call it. We all do it, yes even me at times.

But if we want God to work in our lives more properly, and more spiritually. We need to listen to God. more so as we are living in end times.

Read our bibles, meditate on what you have read. and pray for understanding. and take in what God is saying. Only then you can know information, and what God is speaking to you about. Again faith comes by hearing. As you heard many times im sure. Lets put God word into practice, and learn to hear God. If we can do that? then we can hear things we would never ever heard before, and know what God wants from us.
 
if god made us ,who we are. why look in the mirror, and say I am ugly, or to short, to fat , to slim etc. all humans have emotions,(not just deaf, taste, touch etc) and what ever others think, or how you think about your self. GOD LOVES YOU. may be that s, why he said everyone falls short of the glory of god. this is why I sent my son. SO THAT YOU COULD HAVE A PERSONALSHIP WITH HIM.

yet some have been in accidents, or had defects at birth,or illness that no body can explain, or have turn there back on god because of the death of a loved one, or had someone else, kill ,rob, or cheat you out of something. etc

if I knew the answer to this question, I would tell you. however I know someone who can, his name is jesus christ.
I cant tell you how to get it correct, I can only tell what help me ,

these other things remain, read your bible, and pray ever day, when you can. and go to a church that teaches jesus is lord.
seek and you will find, knock and the door, will open.
 
I have been spiritually deaf, and it is a terrible feeling. Many who are deaf, don't realize what they are missing or understand their deafness, and that makes it worse for them. At least I knew it and did all I could to hear. I was lucky.

I worked hard at trying to hear. I read scripture, I listened to my Christian Aunt who I loved, I went to church and asked questions. I even went to a Christian College where I was required to go to Vespers every day. I understood all my classes perfectly, the bible was greek to me. I even tried dissecting biblical sentences. Our unmarried minister asked me for a date, I knew that wouldn't work! I hadn't told him I wasn't alive spiritually. I made myself read a chapter of the bible every night.

One night, while reading the sermon on the mount, I could hear spiritually. It happened like a light going on in my head.

Not being alive spiritually is not always someone's fault, and it is bad enough without having coals heaped on your head, also. Give them a love and help!!
