Adam and Eve didn't die the day that they ate the fruit. Either God lied or he is not all knowing. I'm sorry for being blasphemous, but I believe it should be addressed.

In the day you do this, you bring the death penalty on yourselves. Doesn't mean the sentence is exacted, but rather that sentence is passed on that day.

If you contract terminal cancer you will die. You don't die the day the Dr. finds a shadow on the X-Ray, but rather, the day the Dr. finds the shadow on the X-Ray, you know you are going to die.

I'm not speculating nothing.
This is the death that Christ came to save us from. The death that Adam have experienced. The death of not being in communion with God (of not knowing God personally).
It's not God's fault if you are too lazy to think.
 
His soul immediately died (separated from God) and his body from that point began decaying. Sort of like a lake being cut off from the river that supplies it's water.

If God said everything word for word exactly the way it was intended than we wouldn't need to seek him for understanding.
He worded things this way for a reason. So we would need him and seek him for the understanding. He does everything for a reason.

It's not my fault God didn't use the right words in a book that was to be taken as His literal word of truth. I'd think he'd know better than to ask us to redefine one word so it could imply more than one meaning.

Nor can you provide us with a passage that says he was not immortal before he ate the fruit. The text clearly demonstrates he had free and unconstrained access to the tree of life before he violated the prohibition of the tree.

Except plant the tree of knowledge with the expectation of humans eating it and being cast into eternal torment. That was totally unanticipated from what you all seem to be saying.

Prestley: God's Word is rich, perfect and accurate, but He wants us to dig into it.

I think some folk prefer to pick holes in it, and approaching God's Word with such an attitude is not going to lead to understanding.
 
They died because they could not eat of the tree of life.

Believers in Christ have access to the tree of life now hence they are alive.

You are not understanding why the tree of knowledge was placed in the garden.

So if you are not capable of understanding something is because God didn't use the correct words, not because your own level of understanding is doubtful. What a reasoning!
In other words, you doubt God (and call him a liar!) instead of doubting yourself.

You have been given plenty of answers from people who have spent time and effort showing you the Scriptures. Do I detect that you are expecting to bring further objections every time someone patiently answers you?

We need to approach God's Word in a spirit of Godly fear, and then we might learn something.

This is not speculation, this is scripture. Hebrews 6:18, "so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us."

There is no obectivity that Adam or Eve were immortal before they ate of the tree, nor is there objective in them dying spiritually. That is all speculation. Just because many Christians agree with these speculations, doesn't make them true. Many people thought that it was good to burn witches at one point based on speculations, it didn't make the speculations true.
