Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

What do we learn from this?

God sanctified this day and set it apart before sin came into the world. This means it was designed to be a permanent part of life on earth. It was made for perfect people on a perfect earth that was designed to last forever.

It was made for humanity before the Jewish nation existed.

Enough Said.

Where does it say the earth was designed to last forever?

If one means "God's REST" will last forever...........then I fully agree. However time will come to an end, thus days will come to an end...........just saying

He means the Sabbath day as in the Saturday Sabbath as God commanded to be keep holy. The bible states that it's to be kept in the millennium so for those who think it isn't for today may want to think again.

There's already recently been a huge thread on this topic but there was a debate on the topic just posted on YouTube from a live video from a ministry called Passion for Truth on Saturday.

Here's the link for those who are interested between Jim Staley and Chris Rosebrough

Where does it say the earth was designed to last forever?

Psa 78:69 And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever.

Psa 104:5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

Ecc 1:4 One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.

The Sabbath is the centor of the whole Bible
It is the center of the law of God
it is the center of revelation
it is what armageddon is all about
it is the sign and seal of God
it is the center of christian experience
i t is the center of Worship

most churches do not worship God

do you know what WORSHIPPING GOD MEANS?

it is right there in the Bible
anyone who says what it is gets madded at

they dont want to worship God usually they want to worship themselves like the pharisee

read your Bible

Read the books that explain things like
1,2, timothy
1,2,3 john
Titus 1,2, Peter

you know
the ones your pastors NEVER eVER read, and for good reason
they dont want you to become sabbath keepers

they usually read middle romans and twist verses then go have a potluck.

The three angels message of revelation is the last warnings to the world at the end of time

where are we?

we are the last churches at the end of time

the FIRST of the three warning angels says

WORSHIP GOD, the one of the FOURTH COMMANDMENT the GOD that is not an evolutionists
the God that CREATED the heavens and the earth
just like commandmend four
Remember the seventh day sabbath because God CREATED all things in six days and on the Seventh you praise him for his vast creation and for crating YOU

and satn
Doesnt want you to do that

for if you worship God
then
you get filled by the holy spirt
and you then cannot sin for you have the seed within you of the spirit
he doesnt want that

he makes a
no
the pope , made a fake anti Bible day (Bible is christ, anti-Bible is anti christ)
so that you are guarabteed not t be sanctified

(whats that? look it up)

worship, I promise you most large churches do not worship God as God told us to
look it up

that is why the message comes to his children YOY to start worshipping God
you are not worshipping God
you are praying to yourself
WORSHIP GOD how?
look it up

O come let us worship and bow down, let us KNEEL before the Lord our MAKER

no evolution
on Sabbath like revelation and exodus 20 says
and THEN he will recreate your mind and give you satan conquering power

satan dont want that

immediately after the word is sooken the ENEMY comes in and TAKES THE WORD AWAY
(watch the posts following this one)
and then you are lost again...

dont let the enemy come in

right now, leave your computer and go LOOK up WORSHIP
SABBATH and read revelation 14

all other worship is not Gods worship

You can only worship God in SPIRIT (only given in barak (kneeling) and only given on Sabbath
show me from the Bible any other way

that is the condition for Adam and Eve in genesis 2:2,3
they KNEELED down and God RECREATED them on day ONE of their creation
it is important to worship and get recreated so you can resist sin
enemy doesnt want that
so,
here he comes...

LOST does not mean you will burn

Lost means, well, your lost,

satan made lost to mean BURNING, no
Jesus says all his sheep are lost
no problem
He will lead you out of the confusion.
Get your Bible and read and follow it
and you will find the narrow way out of confusion.

thats how you know he is the devil in desguise
and he will tell the world, anyone keeping SABBATH is comitting blasphemy, and not listening to me"
That is what he will say
wait and see
when you see this
be SURE to not keep sunday
Revelation the whole book is aobut
anti (false )christ coming and leading the WHOLE WORLD into false worship
and only a few remnatns keep the commandmentes and follow JEsus Rev 22L14
and the dragon will make war and kill them (try)

and God then wipes out babylon in one hour....
thats what it is all about
Sabbath and sunday

that is what it is all about

it is the great war between christ and satan

I failed to see a command there in Genesis regarding the Sabbath.
If you go to the Big 10 a different word is used for Shabbat.

Hebrews 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

How come the word preached did not profit them? Because of not having faith in Christ.

Hebrews 4:9-10
[SUP]9 [/SUP]There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

The law is spiritual, but most people think it is designed for them to work at, physically, like the jews did/do. You can't exactly enter His Rest if you are still working, that is unbelief.

And here comes the gospel in a nutshell.

Matthew 11:28-30

[SUP]28 [/SUP]Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
[SUP]30 [/SUP]For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

If you find yourself still working at the law you must not have come to Christ yet. What hindered you? Was being willing to give up everything you had, including your "knowledge" and philosophy, too much for you? I assure you anything you are holding on to so tightly is not worth nearly as much as Christ.

Of course you can't know that until afterwards.

Galatians 5:4-5

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

You mean we don't work at keeping the law for our righteousness? What has changed?

Hebrews 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

When we come to Christ, everything changes...

Ex 20 refers back to the creation week...

Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

God blessed and made holy the seventh day at creation...

Gen 2:3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

There are statements directly referring to the seventh day being made holy and set apart. Christ then said...

Mar 2:27 And He said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
Mar 2:28 Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath."

Paul kept the Sabbath...

Act 17:2 Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures,

Yet people have no trouble seeing Sunday as the day of worship and the "sabbath of the New Testament" without a single scripture saying so.

The Bible says the Sabbath is on the seventh day, but most Christians actually keep it on the first day.

When I was doing my homework I found that it was actually changed by the Roman Emperor Constantine in a vote.

Anyone who kept the Sabbath on Saturday like the Jews did, according to him, would be excommunicated from the church. Did you know that?

If we say the 4th commandment is not that big of a deal, and that it’s spiritual because Jesus died on the cross, then why can’t we say that committing murder is committing spiritual murder…and children no longer have to honor their parents physically, but now they only honor their parents spiritually…how does that work?

I mean, if we’re going to say we don’t have to physically do the fourth commandment but only spiritually do it, why can’t we use that same philosophy for the rest of the commandments?

So He gave the Sabbath in the garden before man sinned and clearly intended it to be forever. Then man sins and has to work harder and needs the Sabbath more than ever. Then God writes the Sabbath down, showing emphasis by it being in the top ten. Then Jesus dies on the cross and gets rid of one of the top Ten Commandments that He said was made for our benefit that was originally given for eternity. Then when He comes back, He reinstitutes the Sabbath and says that everyone has to worship on that day??

So… man has got to keep it in the garden, when he doesn’t really even need it in the garden because he is just “tending”. But after he sins he really needs the Sabbath…but God takes it away from him when Jesus comes? Something doesn’t seem right.

If the actual day is not important then why did He create it in the first place on a specific day, and why does He require it of us in the kingdom?

Why do we get to say when we keep it and when we don’t keep it?

In the books of Isaiah and Zachariah when the millennium comes, God requires us to keep Sabbath.

If it is not important for a specific day, then why does He say we have to do that in the millennium of all times?

Does it make sense that He would give it, take it away, then give it back? And then we get in trouble if we don’t keep it?

This verse is speaking about after Christ died and in the last days.

Malachi 4:4: “Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel."

Many say that the Sabbath, feasts, dietary laws etc are for the Jewish people BUT how many of the 12 tribes were Jewish? Only one, so they were never Jewish feasts etc.

SABBATH

(rest). God first gave the sabbath as a duty to man in the book of Exodus. It is true that the sabbath originated at the completion of the creation (Genesis 2:1-3), but that was God's rest, not man's. There is no record in Genesis that God gave the sabbath to man, and there is no record of men keeping the sabbath before Israel in the wilderness. Nehemiah 9:13-14 plainly states that the sabbath was first given to Israel. Seventh-day Adventists teach that men kept the sabbath from the days of Adam onward, but this is contrary to the Bible's own record.

Exodus 31:12-18 says the sabbath was a special sign between God and Israel. If mankind in general had been given the sabbath following creation, it could not have been a sign for Israel. The fact is that the sabbath belongs to the nation Israel and not to any other people. It is also important to note that the sabbath will be an eternal possession of Israel (Exodus 31:16). This sign will never be annulled or transferred to another people. This explains why the prophets foretell that Israel will keep the sabbath even after the kingdom of Christ is established on earth (Isaiah 66:23). It also explains why Jesus Christ mentioned the sabbath in His prophecies of the Tribulation (Matthew 24:20). Israelites in the land of Palestine still keep the sabbath today.

In their writings to the churches, the Apostles only mentioned the sabbath three times.

(1) The sabbath is a symbol of salvation rest in Christ (Hebrews 4).
(2) The New Testament believer is not bound to keep the sabbath (Colossians 2:9-17).
(3) The New Testament believer has liberty in the matter of holy days (Romans 14).

Those who teach that the sabbath is binding upon the Christian, are going contrary to what the Apostles taught.

Why, then, did Jesus keep the Sabbath? He kept the sabbath for the same reason He kept all the other Mosaic laws. He also observed the feasts. Jesus did these things because He was born a Jew, born under the law, that He might fulfill it and redeem His people from its penalty and bondage (Galatians 4:4; Romans 9:5).

First thing I addressed, you must have accidently read over it.

My point was, you can't connect the Creation Sabbath to the one given to Moses because...
1. different Hebrew words.
2. no command is attached to God resting in Genesis.
It may be a pattern for the Mosaic Shabbat but it does not follow it is of any command for all to rest on a 7th Day.

BTW I'm not against resting one day out of seven (I'd hate to have no rest day), it's just trying to turn it into a command for the church is what is misguided.

??? The passage in Ex 20 refers directly to creation and you say it can't be connected?

So, if you are working in the garden and say "I am going to take a break" or say "I am going to rest" they mean totally different things because you used different words to convey the meaning?

The word for rest in Gen 2 is...

H7673
שׁבת
shâbath
shaw-bath'
A primitive root; to repose, that is, desist from exertion; used in many implied relations (causatively, figuratively or specifically): - (cause to, let, make to) cease, celebrate, cause (make) to fail, keep (sabbath), suffer to be lacking, leave, put away (down), (make to) rest, rid, still, take away.

And the word for rest in Ex 20 is...

H7676
שׁבּת
shabbâth
shab-bawth'
Intensive from H7673; intermission, that is, (specifically) the Sabbath: - (+ every) sabbath.

And they have no connection?

Interesting thinking.
