Colossians 3: 17. " do it all in the name of the lord"

'Look out for number one.' thats just how life goes yeah? or - how about we remind ourselves that Jesus 'dint't make it easy for himself by avoiding people's troubles, but waded right in and helped out.' Read up (Romans 15: 3) You won't find a shred of selfishness in him.

Ivan O Miller once said, 'Humility is such a frail and delicate thing that he who dares to think that he has it, proves by that sinle thought that he has it not.'

So the challenge that he (and the verse stated at top) sets out is: How much can you forget about yourself so that you can put others first? Sounds a bit harsh you may think? or inhuman? Perhaps its's away to enjoy life without obsessing over yourself. When you succeed and the accolades start coming your way, enjoy them briefly, and then pass them on to the true source of all your accomplishments.

Where your mind is fixed on your own self-glory gaining, get re-obsessed. Do it in the name of the LORD Jesus - actually, 'Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it in the name of the LORD Jesus.'
There's an aim and a half - one day, we might be able to say that 'whatever' we do is done for God, if we kick off, today, with something small.

(Pride brought Satan down. It'll burn you to the ground too if you let it. If you need to get out of your own head today, if you're feeling a bit claustrophobic all up there, try doing something today just purely for the sake of Jesus. See if your life doesn't feel a bit more spacious afterwards.)

Your writing is kind of confusing, but I think I get the message you are trying to convey.

Are you saying that we should Focus on other people and not on ourselves?

Not to buy into the lie of always "looking out for number one" but instead look out for others and place other's needs before our own?

I don't agree with the humility statement by Miller.

If Jesus stated He was humble, that would not mean He was not. sometimes it may just be a statement of fact. However if you were to add that you are MORE humble than another, then that would show hyprocrisy. plus there is such a thing as being self deprecating where one always sells themselves short and does not value themselves as much as God values them.
